LOGINAlaric's POV
It was morning already. I woke up to get ready for my Alpha duties. I couldn't find Freya anywhere in the house. I didn't bother looking for her since I was already late for work.
Once I was done getting ready, I stepped out of my room only to see Elena heading out. She glanced at me but didn't say anything. Instead, she simply walked past me. It made my wolf whimper in pain as we watched our mate leave us.

Xander, my Beta, came into my office.
"The footage you asked for wasn't found," he said.
"How?" I asked.
"We got there, and there was nothing. I'm thinking it was deleted or something."
"Can you just try to remember what transpired?"
"I'm trying, but I can't seem to."
"What's the last thing you remember?"
Flashback
I had just left the room where I had been arguing with Elena about us getting separated.
"Hey, Alpha, wanna hang out?" I heard Freya's voice through the phone.
"Freya, please. I'm not in the mood for this," I huffed in annoyance.
"Did anything happen with your so-called wife?" she asked.
"Don't start," I shunned her.
"I'm sorry about that, Alpha. I spoke with one of our clients, and he asked that we meet him in person before he could agree to the deal," she said, sounding serious this time.
I let out a deep breath.
"No problem. Where do you suggest we meet?" I asked.
"I don't know. You pick a place, and I'll inform him."
"Let's meet at Orland at five."
"That's on the outskirts of the pack. Is that going to be okay?"
"Yes."
"Okay. I'll be there."

At Orland
"Hey, Alpha," she said with a smirk as she walked toward me, her hips swaying gracefully from side to side.
I rolled my eyes.
"So, when are we expecting him to arrive?" I asked impatiently.
"Always straight to the point, Alpha. Let's get something to eat first. I'm famished. The journey here was quite a long one."
"Yeah, sure," I said.
"Better tell that scumbag to bring his ass down here. I'm not in for their shitty play," I said, noticing he still hadn't arrived.
"Okay, Alpha," she said.
I ordered some steaks, protein dishes, and drinks.
I actually remember that I didn't drink a lot, but I still became tipsy. I didn't know how that had happened.
The next thing I knew, I found myself in my bed, stark naked, with Freya beside me in my house.
I had no idea how I got home. I remembered asking Freya several times, and she told me I had called a driver to come and get us and that I had been all over her, which led to... everything.
A few days later, Freya told me she was pregnant after 'our affair'.
I was dumbfounded. I refused to believe we had actually had an affair, I'd never do that besides Elena, whom I love I don't see myself with anyone else. I was so confused and hurt.
Elena would be so pissed, I thought.

I turned to Xander.
"That's all I can remember," I said.
"Well, there's nothing we can do. It's your child."
"Well, I'm happy for you, though."
"Yep," I said. Deep down, I could still see the hurt in Elena's eyes. I palmed my face and let out a heavy breath.
"Everyone in the pack, including the elders, already knows about it, and they're all pretty happy. They've been sending gifts and all sorts of things to her."
"The pack is happy, and that's all that matters."
"So, what are you going to do about Elena?"
My wolf whimpered at the sound of her name.
"I don't know. I've tried to explain things to her, but she doesn't seem to care. I just hope she forgives me."
"You're still in love with her, Alaric. You honestly need to let her go. Your child will be here soon. How do you think they'll feel seeing that you don't love their mother?" he asked before ending the conversation.
"Well, I'll be on my way. Remember, we have a meeting with the board at
three. I'll tell the secretary to get the documents to you. I'm almost done with them."
I smiled and left.
Hayden's POV"We noticed she looks like the former Luna. The differences aren't much, don't you think?" they said."Yes, I do," I answered. "She does look like my mother. She has the same birthmark as she does on her neck, though. I've been feeling this strong bond with her ever since I saw her. I think she could be my sister," I explained."So we should act fast. She might likely be a royal too," they said."So, what do you suggest we do? I'm sure that's what you came here for, right?""Not really, but I think we should talk to your father's Beta to come and examine her so we'll know.""Another reason was that our pack has been seeing the bodies of pups killed and dumped there. We couldn't ignore it when the warriors came to tell us what they saw.""So what's our next move?""Dead bodies of pups?! When did you notice that?""Well, that was a few days ago, which was strange because these killers always left a mark imprinted with a 'Z' on their bodies.""That's strange.""We'll put int
Alaric POVThe Luna coronation ceremony was finally here. After all the preparation, the day had finally arrived.Deep down, I didn't want it to happen. My mind was far away from whatever was going on around me. I could see Freya all over the place, smiling and talking to everyone. I guess she was happy now.She had gotten exactly what she wanted. She was finally going to be crowned Luna and everyone seemed happy too.The pack members were dressed beautifully, the hall was decorated, and everyone was gathered to witness the ceremony.Music filled the air as people laughed and celebrated. But I couldn't bring myself to feel happy.Every single day, I found another reason to despise Freya, and it was crazy seeing her every day. Just looking at her fueled more anger inside me.I couldn't stop thinking about Elena.Where was she? Was she safe? Was she eating? Was someone taking care of her?I had banished her and had watched her leave the pack now I was standing here, preparing to crown a
General POVThe older woman froze.Hayden stood at the doorway, his eyes immediately falling on her before shifting to Elena, who was still fast asleep."What are you doing?" His voice was low.The woman quickly stepped away from the bed."Alpha, I—""What are you doing in her room?" He growled lowly in order for Elena not to wake up.She swallowed hard."I noticed something on her shoulder earlier."Hayden's brows furrowed."What?""A birthmark." His expression changed slightly."What birthmark?" The woman hesitated before walking closer to him."Come and see."Hayden walked into the room and approached the bed.The woman gently pulled down the neckline of Elena's clothes, revealing more of the large birthmark on her shoulder.A strange feeling spread through his chest, one he couldn't explain. He had never met this woman before she was brought to his pack.Yet looking at her now felt strangely familiar.Almost like he had known her before. His eyes narrowed."Where did you see this?
Alaric's POV The marking and coronation ceremony had already been fixed. It was in two days. I was really stressed with the preparations, along with the supplies and other things we lacked in the pack. I was already in my office, but concentrating felt like I was wrestling with myself. "Let me go in!" I heard a scream from outside the door. "We'll have to send a call across to him first." "What's the essence? He's literally here, so what's the need?" Soon, the door was suddenly pushed open, and Lauren, Elena's best friend, barged in. "Oh, he's here." "Where's my best friend? It's been days. Her phone is unreachable, and I've not spoken to her." "I want to see her!" she screamed. "Calm down, Lauren. Let's talk." She rolled her eyes and sat down. I motioned for the guards to leave. "So?" she asked. I heaved a heavy breath and glanced at her. She had an expression that screamed, What's the problem? I looked away from her. "I banished her." It was a hard
Alaric's POV Immediately I got into the car, I felt the urge to go back to her, but at this point, I knew I had to let go. We shouldn't have left her. She's our mate, my wolf growled. He had been silent since the rejection, and finally, he spoke. I guess he, too, was feeling the absence of his mate already. "I fucking know that," I growled. "Can you not add to my worries? I'm very well aware of that. We can't do much," I said calmly this time. "We? It can only be you. We've discussed running away with her from the pack, but your ego couldn't let you." "What? Do you know how crazy that sounds?" "I don't care, as long as I get to be with my mate." "You know that would affect you, right? You're literally going to be..." I paused. "I can't shift if I do that. And you know that if I get stripped of my Alpha title for running away, what's the point? What good am I to you if I'm not able to protect my mate?" "Then what if she's in danger right now?" he snarled. "Yeah, I don't know
Elena's POV It was a man. He had striking honey-colored eyes that stood out against his tanned skin, with long dark hair resting on his broad shoulders. His muscular frame was hard to ignore, and intricate tattoos covered both of his arms, disappearing beneath his shirt. A small silver stud adorned one of his ears, giving him a rugged yet refined appearance. He carried himself with effortless confidence, the kind that made it clear he wasn't someone to be underestimated. He was every bit as tall and powerfully built as Alaric, but his honey-colored eyes gave him a completely different aura. He simply stood there, watching me with an unreadable expression and the faintest hint of a smirk. "Who are you?" I asked curiously. "I'm Alpha Hayden. My pack members found you at the borders of the pack, bleeding profusely, and brought you here." "Oh," I mouthed. "Thank you." "Well, don't thank me yet. You'll be taken to the dungeon once you've recovered. I don't allow unknown people to
