CHAPTER TWELVE: ZERO REGRETS

             My body seemed to come alive as I awoke from my deep sleep. I felt a chill climb up my spine as I felt a cold breeze sneak underneath the white blanket that surrounded my naked body. The night was probably cold, but I hadn’t noticed from the amount of alcohol in my system and the quickie I shared with an unknown man. I yawned, followed by a stretch, before I opened my eyes. I stared up at the white ceiling, seeing light. It appeared that the sun was out and shining bright. I looked over at the clock. 7:45. I reached out to my night stand, grabbing my cell. Had Alisha called? Yes, multiple times. I pressed redial. She answered quickly. 

“Raine!” The tone of her voice unmasked her worry. 

“All is good.” I replied, my words sleepy. She chuckled, more in relief than humor.
