CHAPTER TWENTY ONE: WHISKEY AT MIDNIGHT

Yes. This was the drink that I needed. By the time I got to the club I no longer wanted a martini or a girly drink. It was all about a glass of whiskey. That’s usually a drink that I stay away from, but today sucked so bad. I didn’t win. My team in fact came in last place. I saw that coming from a mile away. I felt looked over by Mr. Davis all day, so I doubted that I stood out. And now, it seemed that I would be sleeping in my bed alone. A good fuck would probably get me out of the funk that I was in, but it wasn’t going to happen. The Gods seemed to be against me.

“You are a terrible liar you know.” You have got to be kidding me. I turned around on my stool to see Kale, dressed in all dark clothing like he was that first night. This was a side of him that I liked. It made him more mysterious. “Now, I could have sworn you said you were going home to your bed.”

“Are you following me or something?”

“I have better things to do than to follow you,” he spoke, as if I had offended him
