Fiona’s POV

When I woke up, everything hurt. My head throbbed where that strange man hit me, and my side still burned from where Rex had stabbed me.

Groaning, I tried to move, but something felt wrong.

I blinked, my vision adjusting to the dim light. I realized I was in a small, unfamiliar hut, that probably belonged to the strange man.

And my dress… I looked down and gasped. It was torn, ripped apart by bare hands. My skin felt raw and bruised, and a horrifying thought entered my mind.

Was this man planning to abuse me?!

Goddess no! Hot tears filled my eyes at the realization.

First Rex and Lillian, now this. Why did everyone I trusted hurt me? Why was I always the one left to pick up the pieces?

I forced myself to sit up, wincing as pain shot through my side. The man was across the room, his back to me, crouched in front of the fire. He hadn’t noticed I was awake. Good.

I had to get out of here.

I crawled to my feet as silently as I could, but my heart pounding in my chest. My eyes flicked toward the door, and I moved carefully, slowly. The man shifted, but he didn’t turn around. He was focused on the fire, and for a moment, I thought I was going to make it.

But the moment I reached the door, the floor creaked beneath me. His head snapped around, and our eyes met. His face twisted in fury.

“Wait!” he roared, lunging toward me. “You can’t leave, your wound isn’t healed yet!”

I didn’t wait to listen to him. I bolted, shoving the door open and running as fast as my broken body could manage. Behind me, I could hear him cursing, his voice echoing through the trees.

“Come back here! No matter where you go in the world, I’ll find you, you little—”

I didn’t stop to listen. I kept running, ignoring the burning in my lungs, ignoring the pain in my side. I ran and ran until I couldn’t hear his voice anymore, until the only sound was the wind in the trees and my own ragged breathing.

Finally, I stopped, leaning against a tree for support. I couldn’t run any farther. I briefly noticed that the strange man had applied ointment to my wounds but before I could dwell on it, i looked up and my blood ran cold.

Rex was standing there, just a few feet away, his face twisted with anger. His clothes were dirty, his hair disheveled, but his eyes—his eyes were full of fury. He’d been chasing me, hunting me down like an animal.

“Fiona,” he growled. “You just don’t know when to stop running, do you?”

My legs trembled, and I tried to step back, but there was nowhere to go. I could feel the ground drop off behind me. I turned and realized that I was at the edge of a very high cliff. One wrong move, and I’d fall to my death.

“Rex, please,” I whispered, holding my hands out in front of me. “Don’t do this.”

He took a step closer, his eyes narrowing. “I don’t want to hurt you, Fiona. You know that. I just need you to come back with me. We need to finish what we started. We need to… consummate the marriage.”

I shook my head, disbelief flooding through me. Even now, after everything he’d done, he was still trying to use me. He didn’t care about me. He never had.

“I’m not going anywhere with you,” I said, my voice trembling. “Please, you have taken everything from me, just let me go.”

Rex’s face twisted with frustration, and he took another step forward, closing the distance between us. “Stop fighting me, Fiona. Once I’m Alpha, you’ll have everything you could ever want. Just… come with me.” He said but I knew that was a stark lie. He would kill me the very moment he became Alpha.

I stepped closer to the edge, the wind tugging at what was left of my dress. “No Rex, you are a heartless liar and a snake. Only a fool would believe you, and I’m no longer your fool..”

Something in his eyes snapped. His expression turned cold, and he lunged at me with a snarl. His hands grabbed at my arms, and I struggled, trying to push him away.

“Let go of me!” I screamed, but his grip was too strong.

“If I can’t have you, then you’re no use Alive.”

With one final shove, Rex pushed me.

For a moment, I felt weightless, my body tipping over the edge of the cliff. And then I was falling, the wind rushing past me, the ground disappearing beneath me.

As I plummeted toward the darkness below, one thought consumed me: Rex had never loved me. He had only wanted to use me, steal everything I had and get rid of me. I was a fool to love him.

If I could do it over again, I would have never ever let him deceive him, I would have destroyed him, Lillian and that beast who took advantage of me in the forest but now, It was too late.

I was already doomed to die

With that thought, I hit the ground with enough force to shatter every bone in my body, and that was how I died. Killed by my husband on my wedding day

Fiona’s POV“Father, please,” I tried to beg again. “You can’t seriously expect me to marry Rex. I don’t want this anymore. He’s not—” My voice faltered as I tried to find the words to explain how Rex wasn’t the man they all thought he was. But how could I? I couldn’t tell them the truth, not without sounding insane. My father, Alpha Ambrose, let out a long sigh, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Fiona, we’ve been over this,” he said, his tone exasperated. “You need to work out whatever problems you have with Rex. This is a done deal. The packs are merged. We can’t back out now.”“But I don’t want to marry him!” I insisted, my voice rising. “Father. Please, just listen to me.”“Listen to you?” My father’s voice hardened. “Fiona, you begged me for days—days—to agree to this marriage. Do you remember that? You came to me, crying, telling me how much you loved Rex, how this was the right decision for you and for the pack. And now, suddenly, you’ve changed your mind?”I flinched, guilt gn

I could breathe without sharp stabs of agony.I was alive.Panic surged through me as I bolted upright in bed, my heart racing. I frantically patted my body, checking for injuries. But there was nothing—no bruises, no blood. The cliff, Rex, the rogue… it was all gone. I was… perfectly fine.My heart hammered in my chest as I tried to make sense of it. Where was I?
