Ver maisFiona’s POV
They say that your wedding day is supposed to be the happiest day of your life, but mine was very different. Because that was the day my husband decided to murder me.
The floor was stinging cold under me as I dragged my bloodied body across the room. My wedding gown, once white and elegant, was now soaked through with my blood, turning it an ugly red color. It was a cruel mockery of the day that was supposed to be the happiest day of my life.
My wedding day, the day I had dreamt of all my life had become a nightmare.
The stab wound in my side throbbed painfully, but it was not as bad as the pain in my heart as I crawled to my father’s dead body.
I needed to get to him.
“Dad…” I whispered, my throat raw. I dragged myself closer, to his cold dead body.
He was lying there, his eyes closed, as if he were just sleeping. But I knew better. I had watched my own newly wedded husband Rex, brutally stab him to death right in front of me. I could only scream as I watched the light leave my beloved father’s eyes.
I finally reached him now, collapsing against his lifeless body, before pulling him into my arms. “I’m so sorry… I’m so sorry, Dad…” My voice cracked as I pressed my cheek against his chest, but there was no heartbeat. Only silence. “This is all my q aqq fault.”
Tears blurred my vision and my hands started shaking uncontrollably. “I should have listened to you. I should’ve…” My sobs drowned out my words. “Rex—he killed you… because of me.”
I had led him into this. Alpha Rex, my fiancé was the Alpha of a small distant pack, he was handsome but most Alpha’s daughters would have preferred to marry a more powerful man. But I didn’t care about any of that. I was just glad that someone finally loved a weak Omega like me.
I had brought Rex into our family, into our pack. I’d believed in him, loved him, gave him everything I had. And now, he turned around and massacred my whole family on our wedding day.
A sob broke from my lips as I glanced to the side, where my stepmother and step brother lay lifeless and bloodied. Yes, They had treated me like dirt my whole life, making sure I knew I was less than them, an Omega. But they were still my family. Despite everything, they didn’t deserve to die like this..
I began to sob harder, but a sudden loud moan tore through the silence, and drowned my cries.
“Ungh, yes, fuck me harder Rex.” It was Lillian. My best friend. That back stabbing bitch, was no friend of mine.
What friend would sleep with her best friends husband and help him kill her whole family?!
“Oh, harder Rex!” She moaned as Rex fucked her on the table.
Her voice was loud, mocking, as if she were making sure I could hear every single sound. I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to block it out, but it was impossible.
“Oh, Rex!” she cried, her voice full of pleasure. “You feel so good!”
My stomach churned, bile rising in my throat. How could they do this? Right here, in front of my dead family—the family they had pretended to love—and me.
The wet sounds of their bodies moving together were disgusting, revolting, but I couldn’t move. I was too weak, too broken.
I tried to stand, but my legs gave out beneath me. I was too weak. They had poisoned me with enough wolfsbane to kill my wolf.
I could feel my wolf dying, and that’s why my wound was not healing. Rex and Lillian had made sure to destroy everything I loved. My family, my love for Rex and now my wolf. There was nothing to live for now.
Suddenly, the moaning stopped abruptly, and I knew they had finally stopped fucking. My blood turned cold as I saw Rex and Lillian come stand in front of me..
Rex stood there, shirtless and shameless, a sick grin plastered on his face. Lillian was right beside him, adjusting her gown, her eyes shining with shameless pride.
“How are you feeling, my princess?” Rex sneered, his eyes dark with amusement. “Not doing too well, huh?”
I glared at him, trying to ignore the pain, trying to ignore the fact that the only man I had ever loved was standing there, looking at me like I was nothing.
“You fucker!… you killed them…” I choked out, my voice trembling. “Why… why would you do this?”
Rex smirked and knelt down beside me, his fingers brushing my cheek in a way that once would have made me shiver with desire. Now, it only filled me with rage. “Because, my darling Fiona,” he said, his voice low and cruel, “I never loved you. And I never gave a damn about any of your stupid family. I just needed to use them and discard them. There was no way in the world I would ever truly love someone like you. Did you really think I would? You? An Omega?”
His harsh words hurt me deeper than any blade could, but I still didn’t understand.
“But you asked me to marry you,” I whispered, tears spilling down my cheeks. “You said you loved me…”
He laughed, cold and heartless. “It was all part of the plan, sweetheart. I needed to marry you to get legal rights to your family’s pack. Only a relative of the Alpha can inherit the pack and since you’re the only precious daughter, well, I had no choice than to marry you.”
I shook my head, refusing to believe it. “No… no, you’re lying. You—”
“Oh, it’s true,” Lillian cut in, her voice dripping with satisfaction. “It was my idea, actually.” She smiled sweetly, but her eyes were sharp, dangerous. “I told Rex to go after you. To sweep you off your feet, make you feel special, make you think you were worth something.”
I stared at her, and I felt like I was being stabbed all over again. “But we were friends… you were my best friend… I treated you like my sister.”
Lillian’s mocking laugh echoed through the room. “Best friends? With you? Please. You were always just the Omega, Fiona. Even as the Alpha’s daughter, you were beneath me. And it pissed me off watching your father treat you like his precious little princess while I was stuck being nothing. I deserved this pack, not you.”
I shook my head in disbelief. “You… you did all of this because you were jealous?”
“You don’t get it, do you?” Lillian sneered. “It was never enough to just be your friend. I was always in your shadow, even though you didn’t deserve it.”
“I loved you like a sister!” I cried, my voice breaking. “I would’ve given you anything!”
“Except what mattered most,” she spat, her eyes cold. “Power. Control. This pack.”
My hands balled into fists as anger surged through me, but it was no match for the helplessness that consumed me. I was too weak to do anything, too broken.
“I swear…” I growled, forcing myself up onto my knees, swaying as the world spun around me. “I’ll make you both pay for this. You won’t get away with it.”
Rex laughed, pulling Lillian close. “Oh, we already have, princess. And once you and I consummate our marriage, it’ll be official. I’ll be the Alpha.”
I froze. My blood turned to ice.
“Consummate the—” I stared at him in horror. Did he really think I would agree to have sex with him after all this? “No! You can’t! I won’t let you touch me.” I spat.
“Oh, but we can,” Rex said, stepping toward me. “It’s tradition, Fiona, I have to fuck you for our bond to be complete. And as soon as I’ve done that, this pack will be legally mine.”
“Over my dead body,” I hissed, my hand closing around the hilt of the knife still lodged in my father’s body.
As I expected, Rex became furious. “You little bitch!” He sneered and lunged at me.
But before he could reach me, I pulled the knife free and stabbed it into his hand. He howled in pain and stumbled back in shock.
Rex’s eyes darkened with rage. “You’ll regret that, You stupid fucking bitch.” He screamed but I was already on my feet and out the door.
“Fiona!” Lillian’s voice was shrill with shock and anger. “Get back here!”
But I didn’t stop. I bolted straight into the forest, my body protesting every step, but I ran. I ran with the last of my strength, as the sounds of Rex and Lillian’s furious shouts echoed behind me.
I didn’t know where I was going, but it didn’t matter. All that mattered was escaping them, but that proved almost impossible as I soon heard them chasing after me.
They were too fast, and they were gaining on me.
“I can’t outrun them,” I muttered to myself, fear tightening my chest. “I need help.”
But who would help me? Everyone I’d trusted were either dead or had betrayed me—my best friend, my husband. I was alone. No one would save me.
Just then, I caught sight of something in the distance—a familiar looking shadow of a man between the trees. He stood still, unmoving as if waiting for me.
My heart leapt into my throat as I recognized him. He was the handsome man I had seen 2 months ago, he was tall and broad, but he had disappeared into forest before I got a good look at him.
But he was here now, and hope fluttered weakly in my chest. Maybe—maybe he could save me.
“Help!” I cried out, my voice hoarse. I tried to run toward him, but my legs were heavy, and my vision swam. “Please… I need help!”
As I drew closer, something about him tugged at my memory. He was a stranger in my pack — I had only ever saw him two months ago, on the day of my engagement. I had caught him staring at me from the street. His eyes had followed me back then, cold and calculating. And he was looking at me like that again today.
The man started slowly walking toward me, his steps slow and deliberate, like a predator stalking its prey. Something about him just wasn’t right. The way he moved, the way his eyes gleamed at me in the moonlight, made my skin crawl.
I suddenly stumbled back as every instinct inside me screamed at me to run.
I took a step back but he moved closer.
“Wait—” I stammered, trying to keep the panic out of my voice. “Who are you?”
He didn’t answer. He just kept coming closer, his lips curling into a smile that sent a shiver down my spine.
I took another step back, but my body was too weak. The ground slipped beneath me, and I almost fell. Before I could react, the man lunged forward and grabbed my arm with terrifying strength.
“No!” I screamed, thrashing in his grip. I didn’t know who he was, but his scent was unfamiliar—he wasn’t from my pack. Fuck! He had to be a rogue. “Let me go!”
I tried to fight him off, but I was too weak. My hands slipped uselessly against his chest as he hauled me closer. His grip tightened, fingers digging painfully into my skin. Panic surged through me. He was going to kill me. I had run from one nightmare straight into another.
“Please…” I gasped, trying to twist free. “Don’t—” I tried to struggle again, but his fist connected with the side of my head, and everything went black.
Fiona’s POV“Father, please,” I tried to beg again. “You can’t seriously expect me to marry Rex. I don’t want this anymore. He’s not—” My voice faltered as I tried to find the words to explain how Rex wasn’t the man they all thought he was. But how could I? I couldn’t tell them the truth, not without sounding insane. My father, Alpha Ambrose, let out a long sigh, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Fiona, we’ve been over this,” he said, his tone exasperated. “You need to work out whatever problems you have with Rex. This is a done deal. The packs are merged. We can’t back out now.”“But I don’t want to marry him!” I insisted, my voice rising. “Father. Please, just listen to me.”“Listen to you?” My father’s voice hardened. “Fiona, you begged me for days—days—to agree to this marriage. Do you remember that? You came to me, crying, telling me how much you loved Rex, how this was the right decision for you and for the pack. And now, suddenly, you’ve changed your mind?”I flinched, guilt gn
Fiona’s POV The first thing I felt when I opened my eyes was confusion. I blinked a few times, staring at the ceiling. My body felt… fine. No pain, no wounds. I could breathe without sharp stabs of agony.I was alive.Panic surged through me as I bolted upright in bed, my heart racing. I frantically patted my body, checking for injuries. But there was nothing—no bruises, no blood. The cliff, Rex, the rogue… it was all gone. I was… perfectly fine.My heart hammered in my chest as I tried to make sense of it. Where was I? What had happened? I looked around and realized I was in my bedroom. My old bedroom. The one I’d left behind months ago.I swallowed hard, my throat dry. This was impossible. I remembered everything so clearly—Rex pushing me off the cliff, the wind whipping around me as I fell, knowing I was about to die.But now I was here, with no wounds, no broken bones. I jumped out of bed, and my heart nearly stopped when I caught sight of the calendar on my desk. It read the dat
Fiona’s POV When I woke up, everything hurt. My head throbbed where that strange man hit me, and my side still burned from where Rex had stabbed me. Groaning, I tried to move, but something felt wrong. I blinked, my vision adjusting to the dim light. I realized I was in a small, unfamiliar hut, that probably belonged to the strange man.And my dress… I looked down and gasped. It was torn, ripped apart by bare hands. My skin felt raw and bruised, and a horrifying thought entered my mind. Was this man planning to abuse me?!Goddess no! Hot tears filled my eyes at the realization. First Rex and Lillian, now this. Why did everyone I trusted hurt me? Why was I always the one left to pick up the pieces?I forced myself to sit up, wincing as pain shot through my side. The man was across the room, his back to me, crouched in front of the fire. He hadn’t noticed I was awake. Good.I had to get out of here.I crawled to my feet as silently as I could, but my heart pounding in my chest. My
