Normandy was one of the oldest established regions in the North of France. It had a long coastline with white-chalk cliffs that made it a preferred landing spot and beachhead during the second world war. One of the said beaches was Omaha Beach, the famous landing site of D Day. Just off its coast was one of the country’s most famous tourist spots, the island where the great gothic abbey of Mon-Saint-Michel was built.

The City of Rouen, Normandy’s prefecture, was one of the largest cities in medieval ages. It boasted the gothic style cathedral, where the hero Joan of Arc was executed in 1431. Even though it had been affected by the Hundred Years War between France and England, it remained a majestic city.
