Marry Mr. Dark!

Marry Mr. Dark!!

Aurora's POV.

The memory of the scene on the highway kept replaying in my mind, and honestly, I didn't know how to process it anymore.

"Alpha's mate?" I swear I had heard that phrase somewhere, but I couldn't remember where exactly.

When I arrived home, a deep voice pierced through my ears.

"Where have you been, Aurora Norah?!!"

As expected, my stepmother's voice thundered the moment I stepped into the house.

Her voice was filled with anger and intense rage as she called out my name. Her face showed a mix of confusion and shock.

I started to fear her, afraid that she might uncover the secret I had been desperately hiding from her—the baby.

"I... I was..." I stammered, my eyes trembling with fear.

I had no idea what excuse I could come up with; my mind was blank, and I couldn't think of anything.

"Are you keeping something from me?" She rose from the worn-out couch where she had been sitting.

She approached me, her eyes narrowing with suspicion, and her face revealing the deep-seated hatred she had always held for me.

"I was just out, Mary!" I finally mustered the courage to respond, trying to conceal my fear of her.

Whenever she sensed any sign of vulnerability in me, she would exploit it to her advantage, and I wasn't going to allow that.

Just as I didn't let Hannah and Nelson overpower me, I refused to be a weak person in her presence.

"Mary!? Did you really use my name?" She snorted, her angry expression directed at me while her hand rested on her hip.

"What else am I supposed to call you? Mom? Yeah, right!" I jeered, my eyes rolling with complete disgust.

"How dare you mock me in front of..." She was about to approach me, but I instinctively took a step back.

I wasn't sure why, but something inside me strongly resisted her presence, not wanting her to come anywhere near me.

"So, you think you're all grown up now, huh?" She sneered, removing her hands from her hips.

"I wasn't always going to be the little girl you could imprison in a dark room, Mary."

As I heard those words, my fists tightened, consumed by anger. I was overwhelmed with fury as memories from the past flooded my mind.

She had done everything in her control to push me towards self-destruction, but I had been resilient against her attempts.

"Well, as I anticipated... it's for the best, Aurora!" She declared, then turned away and walked back to the couch.

In that brief moment, my thoughts circled back to what she had just uttered, leaving me deep in contemplation.

"What do you mean by that?" I took a few steps closer to her, demanding an explanation.

She remained strangely silent, her smile filled with venom as if she had some sinister plan up her sleeve.

She had always been the wicked witch, but this time, something felt even more different about her.

She was plotting something dangerous, and I was sure it wouldn't be in my favour.

"What did you mean by 'It's a good thing,' Mary?" I insisted, my mind set on getting a direct answer.

I needed a response right away, and she was the only one who could provide it.

In that moment, she lifted her gaze to meet my eyes, and with a wicked sneer, she said something that shocked me to the core.

"You think I'm unaware?" she scoffed, leaving me even more bewildered and curious.

"Unaware?... Unaware of what?" I stammered, my mind racing with various possibilities as I struggled to grasp what she was referring to.

She was teasing me with something only I knew, yet she deliberately kept me in the dark.

"Should I enlighten you, Aurora, or will you confess before your dad gets home? Trust me, Aurora, he won't be pleased to discover what you've done!"

This time, she threatened me, causing my heart to race with a mix of urgency and curiosity.

"Could she be talking about my child?" I wondered anxiously, my eyes scanning the room as I contemplated silently, lowering my head in deep thought.

"I took every precaution to erase any trace of my child! There's no way she could have discovered it, right?"

I was still grappling with my thoughts when, to my unfortunate dismay, my worst fears became a reality.

She casually tossed a piece of paper in my direction, and the moment I picked it up, a wave of intense fear engulfed me.

"How did you..." I blinked rapidly, my eyes already red and swollen, as I looked up at her with the paper trembling in my hand.

"How did I find out? Well, Aurora, I'm not oblivious, unlike some people. I wonder how your dad will react when he learns..." She smirked, her eyes filled with a burning desire to harm me at that moment.

"His beloved daughter!" She added, her voice dripping with vengeance and anger.

"This mustn't... he can't find out!" I stammered, my trembling lips trying to convey my desperation to her.

"You kept it hidden from me, Aurora... You concealed the fact that you were pregnant, and you thought I wouldn't find out?"

She let out a venomous cackle, crossing her legs and folding her arms tightly across her chest.

"I won't listen to your begging! Your dad will return shortly, and he must see the paper!"

She threatened, her intense and piercing gaze fixed firmly on me.

She rose from her seat, preparing to leave me behind, and I felt helpless.

At that moment, I had no other option. I didn't know what else to do except surrender to her will.

Without a moment's thought, I complied with her demands, acting like a weakling, just to protect my dad.

He must never discover that I was carrying a baby.

Instinctively, I sank to my knees, bowing my head to the ground as tears continued to stream down my face.

"I swear, Mary, I'll do anything you ask. Anything to ensure you keep this from him!" I pleaded, causing her to pause in her tracks.

"And why should I believe you?" She smirked, her voice laced with mischief.

"I never break a promise. Please, just don't tell him. I'll do anything you demand!" I insisted, fixing her with a determined stare.

To my surprise, her offer left me speechless.

"Marry Him Aurora? Marry Mr. Dark, and everything will be erased as if it never occurred!" she proposed abruptly.

My eyes widened in sheer terror, taken aback by her cunning suggestion.

This was far from what I had hoped to hear.
