"ALPHA'S MATE!"

"ALPHA'S MATE"

Aurora's POV

"Never you ever show your face before my eyes again!!"

Nelson's voice boomed through my ears that it felt like he was still standing before me and glaring at me.

As I sat there on the unforgiving floor, my heart throbbed with unbearable pain and sorrow.

It felt as if my heartache was uncontrollable, causing it to bleed metaphorically.

All my hopes and dreams had shattered right before my eyes, leaving me devastated.

It was a surreal moment, and I felt a sharp pang in my racing heart, prompting me to clutch my chest in anguish.

Who could have imagined that my six-year relationship with my first crush and boyfriend would come to such a tragic end?

I closed my eyes for a moment, attempting to find some semblance of calm amidst the chaos.

It was just so difficult to accept the harsh reality that surrounded me.

"What didn't I do for you, Nelson? Where did I go wrong? Was I that bad and stupid?" I shrieked, my eyes betraying the intense regret I was feeling.

I wished to walk up to his door and ask him why he had led me to the mud this way but on a second thought, I'd rather pass than be embarrassed.

"Don't think about him, don't..." I whimpered softly, tears streaming down my face from my closed eyes.

With determination, I fluttered my swollen, red eyes open and slowly rose to my feet.

I refused to be the girl who begged to be her ex's second choice.

Hannah, my supposed lifelong best friend and half-sister, had betrayed me in the worst way possible.

As I picked up my bag from the ground, I cast one last glance at Nelson's apartment.

My grip on the bag's strap tightened, and all I could feel was an overwhelming mix of pain, regret, and betrayal.

It was evident that they had returned to their passionate affair, completely oblivious to my pain.

"You will face the consequences, Nelson! You will pay for making me feel this way, for humiliating me!"

Tears welled up in my eyes, blurring my vision, but I blinked them away and left his house with a resolute heart.

As I walked down the street, making my way back home, a wave of fear washed over me as I thought about my stepmother.

She wasn't my biological mother, and what made it worse was that my father always supported her decisions, no matter what they were.

The moment she discovered I was pregnant, carrying an illegitimate child in my womb, she would surely either harm me or sell me off like a slave.

I came to an abrupt halt, my eyes fixated on my stomach, and my hand instinctively reached out to cradle it.

I gently rubbed my growing belly as tears streamed down my pale cheeks once again.

The mere thought of losing my child sent a wave of terror coursing through my veins.

"I vow to protect and cherish you, no matter what. You are my child, and I don't care what anyone else says!"

I declared, summoning the strength to stand against the pain.

Determined to protect my child, I resolved to confront anyone who posed a threat.

Since my belly was still flat, it was unlikely that anyone would notice I was pregnant.

Before anyone could become aware of my condition, I would do everything in my power to provide for the baby and myself.

I wiped away the tears from my face, my hands trembling, and my vision blurred. I prepared to cross the road, my eyes still fixated on my abdomen.

However, as I stepped forward, a deafening sound overwhelmed my senses, drowning out all other sounds, and a vehicle hurtled toward me.

To my right, I saw a black SUV rapidly approaching me, its speed seemingly determined to bring about my demise.

Panic surged through me as I desperately tried to flee, but it felt as though fate itself was conspiring against my survival.

"Is this the end? Is this how my journey in this world concludes?"

I pondered in silence, fear gripping my racing heart and my legs trembling uncontrollably.

With a heavy heart, I closed my eyes, a final tear escaping as I hoped to awaken in a serene paradise.

However, the next moment brought a startling twist.

"Are you out of your mind?! Who do you think you are, standing in my way?!"

A deep, angry growl pierced through my ears, causing me to snap my eyes open with a gasp.

"Oh my goodness!" I exclaimed, clutching my chest in fear.

At that moment, I truly believed that my life was about to end.

But when I turned to face the source of the voice, a different kind of apprehension washed over me.

It felt as though my existence would be snuffed out before I had the chance to witness my child's first cry.

Before me stood a striking young man with captivating green hazel eyes and neatly styled black curls.

He possessed all the qualities of a responsible individual, yet his piercing gaze felt as though it could extinguish me.

"Can't you hear or have you suddenly lost the ability to speak, tempting me to end your life?"

He approached me, closing the distance between us, his heated breath forcefully grazing my face.

The scent of his musky cologne filled my nostrils, adding another layer of intensity to the already tense situation.

I was undeniably frightened, his commanding tone and penetrating glare making me wish I could retreat from the encounter.

However, there was an inexplicable allure about him that drew me in, despite the fear.

"Lucious?" a woman's voice called out from the car, capturing his attention.

"This is beyond your capacity, Claire. Allow me to show her the true face of death. I..." He began to say, but she swiftly interrupted him.

"Don't you dare! She deserves to..." Her voice trailed off as she approached me, a sudden change in her demeanor.

Her gaze bore into mine, and I could see a mixture of confusion and surprise in her eyes.

I, too, felt a wave of awkwardness wash over me, unsure of how to walk away from them.

Before I could gather my thoughts and offer an apology, she firmly grasped my wrist, preventing me from pulling away.

"What are you..." I began to question, but my words caught in my throat as she whispered in a barely audible voice.
