The Man From My Dreams?

The Man From My Dreams?

Aurora's POV

"If you marry Mr. Dark, I promise not to reveal to your dad that you were already pregnant before you left the house!" she proclaimed, her voice filled with evident satisfaction.

"And it's just a one-year agreement. All you need to do is give him a child!" she added, a hint of disappointment in her tone.

"What? Marriage? To someone I hardly know?!" I exclaimed angrily, my face reflecting confusion and disapproval.

I swiftly rose to my feet, no longer willing to be at her mercy.

"You know what, Mary? I'd rather face my father's wrath than marry a heartless monster who doesn't care about a woman's emotions!"

I spun around, intending to rush to my room, but she halted me in my tracks.

"I knew I shouldn't have trusted you, Aurora, and that's why your child will never know peace until its dying breath!" she threatened, using my child as a pawn in her twisted game.

"Leave my child out of this, Mary!" I warned, my voice filled with intense fear.

"Then don't break your promise, Aurora, especially now that I'm showing you kindness!" she uttered, forcing me to face her menacing gaze.

My fist clenched tightly on the railing I held onto, wishing it were her neck instead.

Reluctantly, I considered the situation. The thought of my child's potential well-being and the absence of a father figure began to weigh heavily on my mind. Perhaps, despite the circumstances, this could be an opportunity to provide my child with a home.

"Trust me, Aurora, you won't regret this so much!" she sneered, trying to persuade me to see things from her perspective.

However, I couldn't easily place my trust in her.

"What if I end up in trouble, Mary? What about the safety of my child?" I questioned, my voice trembling with uncertainty.

"Then you'll have to deal with it on your own, since you're all grown up now, right?" she scoffed, closing the distance between us with three confident steps.

This was never the path I envisioned, but a part of me sensed that it might be the only choice I had to survive and protect my child.

I turned to face her directly, my hands tightly gripping the strap of my brown bag as I glared back at her.

At least, this would be the last time I would have to see her.

"When do I have to leave?" I inquired, my voice filled with anger and disdain.

Before Mary could respond, a commanding yet feminine voice rang out from behind, causing me to swiftly turn and face its source.

"You are leaving right now, Aurora Dark!"

As I laid my eyes upon the fair lady before me, I stood frozen in silence. It was the same woman who had uttered those words to me earlier.

She was the one who had intervened when that rude man was about to tear me apart.

"It's good to see you again, but we must leave before sunset!" she insisted, and with some hesitation, I approached her.

She greeted me with a smile, something unexpected and refreshing. It was rare for a betrothed servant or Whatever she was, to smile at her contracted bride.

However, a thought crossed my mind.

"Where is he?" I asked, looking directly into her eyes.

"You will meet him soon, Aurora. All you have to do is trust us and walk with us!" She gently tapped my shoulder, offering me a glimmer of encouragement.

Without hesitation, she turned and swiftly exited the house. I followed suit, determined to face whatever lay ahead.

As I walked towards the awaiting convoy, a thousand thoughts raced through my mind, particularly about what my father would think of me once he returned home.

Would he be happy or would he remain burdened with sadness, still believing that I had somehow caused harm to my sister?

With each step I took, my heart pounded faster within my chest. I hoped and prayed that this decision I had made would bring about positive changes in my life.

This was a fresh beginning, and holding onto the hope that it would bring a sense of fulfilment wasn't a bad idea at all.

I couldn't quite comprehend how we had arrived at the enormous mansion before me, and an unsettling feeling crept over me.

It seemed as though I was stepping into a place tainted by dark forces.

"Step out of the car, Aurora!" the woman commanded, snapping me out of my thoughts. Without hesitation, I complied.

"I... I'm sorry for..." I began to apologise, but she cut me off abruptly.

"No more apologies, Aurora!" She approached me, her voice now filled with a deep, harsh tone.

It reminded me of how she had smiled warmly at me back at the house.

"Was she just pretending earlier?" I questioned in my mind, my eyes still locked on her as she spoke.

"The Alpha doesn't appreciate a clumsy bride, Aurora, so I advise you to be cautious if you want to keep your head attached to your body!" Her warning heightened the complexity of the situation, overwhelming me further.

"And let me make this clear, you won't leave this place alive!" She declared before turning away, leaving me stranded and alone.

"Get her! The Alpha is eager to meet her!" She commanded, and in an instant, I was seized like a criminal and brought into the imposing mansion.

Confusion overwhelmed me as I found myself on the floor, my knees hitting the cold mansion floor. Before me stood an enormous chair, seemingly reserved for someone of high status.

"What is all this?" I muttered to myself, surveying the room I had been brought into.

"Is this for the Alpha?" I whispered, a chilling realisation dawning on me. If Alphas were supposed to be werewolves, then...

My thoughts were abruptly interrupted by a deep, menacing growl that reverberated through the room, sending shivers down my spine.

"Mate?" he murmured, his expression devoid of any happiness.

At that moment, everything became even more confusing and complicated.

This wasn't the first time I had encountered a menacing man like this. It wasn't the first time I had seen him standing before me.

"He's the man from my dreams?!" I gasped, overcome with intense terror as our eyes locked, creating a chilling connection.

To even make it worse, he was the man from the dreadful scene after Nelson had betrayed me.

"What is happening here?"
