ANNA
My vision blurred as I stretched my hands, signaling the dawn of a new day. The bed felt
incredibly comfy as my hand landed on a warm face. Furrowing my brows, I smiled, thinking it was Alpha Mike since he always showed up in my room when I was asleep.
As my eyes cleared, I looked at the person in front of me. Jerking immediately, my eyes widened, and I sat up straight, my face furrowed upon seeing Alfred there.
“What the hell are you doing in here? Don't tell me you slept in this room,” I asked, shifting far away from his side. He scoffed as he stood up from the bed, stretching his hands. Oh no! He had truly slept here. I calmed down, thinking about my kids. I didn't want to be harsh in my words, so he wouldn't refuse me.
“Get me out of here, please. I need to leave,” I said with a worried voice.
He smirked, walking closer to me, bending his head as I turned my face away. “As far as I'm concerned, you're not going anywhere.”
I was on the verge of speaking when Mira stormed into the room, her face twisted with anger and amusement. Our eyes locked as she scoffed, crossing her arms defiantly.
Mira's words sliced through the air,” I thought you said I should trust you, Alfred. I thought you said It’s not what I think. But, why is my thoughts displaying right in front of me.” She threw her question right to Alfred’s face.
“Mira, please now isn’t the time to go back and forth with you.” I protested to her with my shaky voice.
She flagged her hands to Alfred and turned towards me, “ As for you, husband snatcher. I never knew my husband was with you throughout the night. I mean, what can I say? You are still the same weak Anna who would open her wide legs for him to pass through.”
Alfred intervened, shouting, “ Enough!” Her gaze shifted to him, surprise etched across her face.
I clenched my fists in anger. How dare you say such a thing to me? He was your weakling husband who slept on my bed!
Mira turned her attention to Alfred, seizing his collar. “Are you suporting her?”
He forcefully pulled her hands away, “ Let's go,” he held her arm tightly, dragging her out of the room in a swift motion.
I rolled my eyes till it almost got into my brain. After all, that wasn't my business. I began to search everywhere for my phone when suddenly I felt a slight pain in my head.
It was as if the wolfsbane I was forced to inhale was affecting my head seriously. I could still smell the scent of wolfsbane in my nose.
Suddenly, the pain began to subside. My children are my priority and I need to know how they are doing. What do I do?
I ran my hands through my hair, checking the table and the bed, but I couldn't find it.
“ Maybe it's in the car,” I whispered to myself as I came out of the room. Then I realized that I didn't have the keys to the car.
Fuck! What if this mutt of an Alpha does something to them? No, he can't. Alfred doesn't know about them, and that will be over my dead body!
I must find a way. Slowly, I ascended the staircase one step at a time, ensuring each footfall was silent. My gaze swept the surroundings, and I spotted a telephone on a table in a nearby room. Without hesitation, I entered, closing the door behind me. Closing in on the telephone, I dialed Mike's number.
Even if I couldn't see my phone, I would make use of what was available.
The call went through, and I breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank the moon goddess you picked up, Mike. It's Anna," I whispered in a very tiny voice, covering my mouth with one hand to muffle the sound.
"Oh my goodness, where are you? I went to your house, but I didn't find you. Your kids are with me, but you know how stubborn Andy is. Just tell me where you are." His worried voice rang
from over the phone.
I replied, "I've been kidnapped, Mike. I need you to come set me free."
"What?!" His growl, not just his, but his wolf's, echoed through the phone.
“ Hey! What's going on there?” A voice interrupted, sending cold shivers down my spine. I swallowed my saliva hard as I turned to find Mira with two guards.
“ I just wanted to tell you that Alpha Logan wants to see you, and you're here trying to steal?” She accused, and confusion swept over me.
“ No...No, it's not what you think, Mira,” I stammered, attempting to explain as she shook her head.
“Shut up, Anna. You are not only a husband snatcher but also a thief. Damn! Everyone must hear about your evil doings.” She raised her voice at me with a sardonic laugh following it.
“Take her!” She ordered her guards, and they grabbed my hands. I struggled, but their grip was unyielding, pain coursing through my bones.
“ Please, try to understand. I wasn't stealing,” I pleaded as Mira turned away. They led me away, and the realization hit that no one would hear my screams in this vast mansion. The wolfsbane weakened parts of my body, adding to my helplessness.
They forcefully shoved me into the room, and I crashed hard onto the floor,
"Why are you doing this?" I questioned, my voice cracking. She devilishly laughed, squatting down with a sharp knife in hand, her face contorted in a frown.
“Shut your mouth up you slut.” She fired back at me not ready to back down with a knife on her hands.
She tried attempting to stab me but I grabbed her hands, clenching them tightly. We grappled, my hands locked on hers, the knife dangerously close to my eyes.
Her smirk persisted as she pressed her hands with all her strength, the knife aimed directly at my eyes. I was losing balance and tears stung at the corners of my eyes.
She sneered, "Of course, you can't defeat me. I’ll defeat you before you try to do that."
At that moment, I didn't know the kind of power that filled me as I gained control and pushed her away. I was about to escape when a sharp pain pierced my legs.
"Argh!" I winced in pain, holding my left leg as blood gushed out.
"I told you, didn’t I? She burst out with a sarcastic laugh.
“Are you ready to speak, Anna? What were you doing in my man's room!? Or, do you want me to stab you again on your other leg before you speak up?" She said, pointing the knife at my neck.
I began panting heavily as I didn't know how to respond to that question. I felt cold shivers running down my spine. I knew for sure that she was doing this intentionally but how do I explain to her that I'm not here to take Alfred from her?
Suddenly the door slammed open and I saw Alfred looking so worried as he came in.
She was about to speak when he interrupted by placing his index finger on his lips. She rolled her eyes and clenched her fists in frustration. He then turned to me, lifted me, and guided me out of the room with my hands resting on his shoulders.
“ I'm done,” he muttered as I stood on my feet.
I gave him a confused look waving off what he had said earlier,“ I heard your dad was calling me, so let me be going,” I shrugged as I turned around to leave. Suddenly, the door was shut by his betas.
"We need to talk," he stated.
I frowned as I turned to look at him. Even though I was limping, I could still manage myself and go meet him since he needed me.
A phone was in his hand as he raised it and he stared deeply into my eyes with a straight face.
Wait...Isn’t that the phone that I have been looking for?” I asked him not to withhold the tension in my voice.
“Who are these three kids on your wallpaper?” He questioned waving off the question I had asked him.
My heart sank immediately and my jaw dropped as he walked slowly towards me with my mouth wrapped in between.
“Whose father are these kids, Anna?” He fiercely repeated, his tone heavy and his eyes bloodshot.
ALFRED. Mike lunged forward and shoved his fist down my face that rendered me losing my stability as I found myself resting my bare back on the floor. My heart panting out fast as I struggled to catch up with my breath. He overpowered me, his ass sitting on my chest as if he wanted me to kiss his stinky ass while he kept over powering me. “Who is going to say his last prayers now, Alfred?” His mouth dripped with blood as he spoke with contempt. Every one of his words disgusted me and sent me cold shivers down my spine. Using the last strength left in me I tried shoving him off my body, but I was too weak to do that. “Could it truly be that I won't get to see the sunset just the way I claim?” I asked myself, trying so hard not to allow his words to creep into my head. He kept speaking relentlessly but I couldn't hear any of his words because it kept on echoing the moment my eyes clocked with that of Anna, “Would you lay low for this thwart to be the father of your kids?” A voice
ALFRED. “Two…” I was still able to hear my father's voice in the background as he shouted the number as if he was expecting a miracle to happen that I'd have the full grit and power to face the person standing right in front of me. It's been a while that I had gotten into a heated fight but my father doesn't want to see that and everything about him makes me tend to wonder if he truly loves me just the way he claims, but I guess that would be another thing to ponder on for another day. “Three… .. Fight!” His voice resounded like thunder as he mentioned the number and his hands up in the air while he sat down on his chair, jingling the glass of wine he had in his hands waiting for us to entertain him. The coldness of the cufflinks left my hands and that of Alpha Mike as the guards took their time to unlock it from our wrists. The hard stench of Alpha Mike's deceitful grin hits my face so bad. Even though I have never for once liked his guts, I was willing to have a peaceful conver
ANNA. I believe Mira still think that she knows me too well and that her words would get to me, but if only she was quite aware that nothing which comes out of her mouth would move me. I didn't flinch neither did I stutter. I ensured that my eyes pierced through hers until she couldn't stand to look into my daring eyes. Perhaps, she felt my eyes were too overbearing for her to handle. I’d already braced myself for the worst. I knew what this place was. I knew what she was capable of doing and today won't be the day I'd smile at her advances. Her threats didn’t shake me at all instead it made my skin grow more and more thicker. I leaned slightly forward, my hands running around my lips, ready to whisper back. Just a few words, “Your words mean nothing to me.”But I didn’t get the chance to, because of the loud uproar that was coming from the background and these uncouth rogues. “ALPHA ALFRED!”“ALL HAIL ALPHA ALFRED!”“HE IS HERE TO STAY!”“LOOK! ALFRED!”These we're the few word
ANNA. The silence was a bit cold and still as I made my way to the archway through the arena with a few maids by my side assisting me, guiding my path to know the exact spot to sit down before the main event would kick off. The sound of my heels against the cold floor echoed with every step I took trying to follow closely where the maid was taking me. My steps were growing louder than I could ever imagine. No cheers. No chants. No claps to distract from the loudness of my steps. The only thing I could feel at that point was nothing but stillness. It felt as if thousands of eyes were on me, but no single voice was heard. I couldn't see their eyes but I felt them on me, judging and watching. It was as if the whole thousands of people held their voices to themselves hoping to see me shudder. But I was very much unstoppable with my shoulder pad so high. The brightness from the chandelier light shimmered through the floral dress I had on and never for once have I seen a masterpiece a
ALFRED. My whole hand hurts from the force I used in slamming the door just to have this conversation with my father once and for all. I didn't even care if he'd be disappointed in me with the way I bashed into his room without any courtesy.“Alfred? What are you doing?” Anna asked me in a voice barely like a whisper as if she was trying to shield herself from being caught by the presence of Alpha Logan. If only she knew the reason why I couldn't hold down the outrage that was brewing right inside of me then she wouldn't even dare to lower the tone of her voice while talking to me. My eyes darted over to hers giving her I can handle my shit myself because I didn't want her to carry my burden for me. I can always and will always carry my burdens myself because I want to prove to her that she can trust me with her kids. The weird sound of my father clearing his throat made me drift my eyes away from Anna just to focus on my father, “You said we need to talk, right?” He asked, making
ANNA. I was only left in the room with Alpha Logan and I was feeling very uncomfortable with the way his eyes were doing the talking. I don't know if he expects me to decode whatever he has to say with his eyes because there is no freaking way I'd be able to do that. Every stare he gave me was penetrating down into my soul and it was a bit electrifying, “Does he want me to be the first to shoot the question in my head?” I asked myself as my eyes were still focused on him without blinking at all. I might as well just use the door if he has nothing to say rather than indirectly giving me a punishment to stand for how many hours he has in mind without saying a freaking word. “Goodness! What the hell is he trying to make me do? Stand here for how many hours and watch him admire my beauty without doing anything??" These were the words and questions flying through my head as I thought about the scenario unfolding through my very eyes. I was about to say a word and break the silence bet
