Ria woke up slowly, her body was aching as if she'd been hit by a truck. For a moment, her mind was blank, but the sharp pain between her thighs brought her back to reality.

This wasn't her room. Where was she? She jolt up and her hand brushed against something— it was a person!

Someone was in the bed with her. Dread crept over her like frost as she turned her head, inch by inch.

The man lying beside her emitted an irresistible and majestic aura that made people bow their heads when they come close to him, he was not only handsome but his well defined and his sharp features were similar to that of an Adonis

His chest was bare; smooth, toned, rising and falling in calm, even breaths. He had high cheekbones and his tousled dark hair made him look like a sleeping sex appeal

How did she end up in bed with this stranger? she wondered. Last night she had..., then like torn paper in the wind, her memories flooded back; Nathan’s smooth smile as he handed her the glass of juice, the heat that flooded her veins, her confrontation with Nathan and Kelly. And then, this room— hands on her skin which made her feel jittery, a low voice behind her ear, unfamiliar yet coaxing; mouth pressing softly against her collarbone— the thrusting of hips.

Tears welled up in her eyes. That was her first time and it had been taken by a stranger.

Nathan had betrayed her. She knew Kelly had issues with her but Nathan?

She looked around for her dress and shoes and her eyes landed on the heap on the floor, last night was pretty intense, no doubt about it. She grabbed the dress, her fingers were trembling as she pulled it over her head. Her bra was gone. One of her heels— broken— lay discarded by the chair but she didn't stop. Anger and Panic churned in her chest, she had to leave the room before the man on the bed woke up.

As she crept towards the door, barely breathing and her hand reached for the handle, it turned with a slight twist and the door opened. She ran out quickly as the door closed behind her with a soft click.

Inside the room, the man on the bed opened his eyes. He had been awake since the time Ria woke up.

Alex blinked once. His movements was slow and deliberate. He reached out for his phone on the nightstand.

"Find out everything about the woman who just left my room— Now."

The taxi dropped Ria in front of the Hartley estate. She glanced down at her gown, it wasn't hard to guess what had happened to her, clutching her shoes in her hand, she took a deep breath and walked inside. Her head was down as she walked through the familiar driveway and reached the entrance.

The door opened before she could open it.

Her mom stood at the doorway, with her eyes narrowed in disgust. “Ria,” she snapped. “Where have you been all night? Why are you just coming back now?

Behind her, Kelly stood in the hallway, wrapped in her nightwear, she looked like she had just woken up but her lips were curled up with a cunning smile.

“I…” Ria’s voice cracked. “Something happened. I... Nathan... Kelly was there at the party. They drugged me, I didn’t—”

“Stop.” Her father’s voice boomed from the sitting room. “Not another word, Ria, why are you always blaming your sister for the mistake."

Her heart clenched as he appeared in the doorway with his arms crossed. His eyes roamed over her from head to toe like he was assessing her.

“You’ve brought shame to this family,” he continued. “You went out for an important occasion and you are coming back in this state? Have you no dignity?”

Ria’s breath hitched. “It wasn't my fault,. I swear. I was drugged. I woke up in a stranger’s bed—”

Her mom recoiled. “God, do you hear yourself? A stranger’s bed? Have you no respect for our family's reputation?

Kelly stepped forward, her voice was sweet and calm “Maybe we should hear her out. Maybe it’s not as bad as it sounds. Ria does… act out sometimes but she would never do anything that would hurt our family's reputation"

Ria turned to her, her eyes filled with anger. "You bitch! you did this to me and you are trying to play innocent"

Kelly lowered her eyes. “I… I didn't do anything. Nathan said you weren’t feeling well. He told me you wanted to go home. When I came back, I was surprised you weren't home yet. So I called Nathan to see if you were with him, but he said he had called a ride which took you home. So I don't know why..." she trailed off, it sounded as if she was speaking up for Ria but she was only leaving room for suspicion.

“You’re lying!” Ria said with agitation as her eyes narrowed with disbelief. “You planned this with Nathan, you’ve always hated me—”

Her mom snapped.“Enough! How dare you accuse your sister of such things?”

“She’s not my sister!” Ria screamed. “She’s not even your child! I am!" Her parents looked at her, with disappointment written all over their face

Her mom's voice was like ice being poured over her body, “Kelly is more of a daughter to us than you’ll ever be.”

She took a step back, as if the words had struck her physically. She looked at Kelly, who gave her a small, sarcastic smile— which says "I told you so"

“Do you even know," Ria said hoarsely. “At every party, you introduce Kelly as your biological daughter, you make me feel like I’m the outsider?"

“Because you always act like one,” her father said sharply. “You’re always angry, ungrateful. Kelly is kind. She understands family. You—you're a disappointment.”

Her legs gave out but she steadied herself against the wall.

Nathan. Kelly. Her parents. All of them. They had taken everything from her.

Ria lifted her chin slowly, her eyes glistening with tears, “You don’t deserve me,” she said. “You never did.”

Without another word, she turned and walked away, leaving the house she once called home behind her.

  • RIA: HIS SWEET OBSESSION    A CONFESSION

Ria walked into the house and as surprised at the sweet aroma that hit her immediately she walked in. Someone was cooking in the kitchen, the noise in there confirmed it and there was no way it was the house help, she must have left by this time. It has been two weeks after the betrayal saga and her relationship with Alex was back to square one—no talking and before she wakes up in the morning, he was already gone from work. It was evident that something happened with his father that dinner night but he refused to tell her. “I made dinner,” Alex appeared at the doorway with two plates in his hand, halting her stop from entering the kitchen. He’d seen her car drive into the garage from the balcony and quickly rushed back to set the table. The past two weeks he had been a dickhead, even though the news about Alicia threw him off guard, he wasn’t supposed to sideline the one woman he wanted to be with. He was fighting very hard and pulling the shareholders to his side but in the pro

  • RIA: HIS SWEET OBSESSION    THE RESCUE STORY WASN'T TRUE

“Yes, it wasn’t me, the one who called me said, they were from the Cooper’s Group and they had the designs, she said that I only need to give up the materials. That was the only thing did, I never leaked out the designs, please spare me.” Anna begged profusely. Getting fired from Williams Group was something she couldn’t afford; it was like an automatic ban from the industry. No other company would dare hire her. Ria stood up from her seat and went closer to where Anna was, she crouched down to where she knelt, “You said ‘she’, are you talking about Kelly Hartley.” “No… No,” it was definitely not her. She had talked to Miss Hartley several times on the phone for business matter, the voice on the phone wasn’t her. “it wasn’t her but from the way she sounded, she must be very young. The voice was very unfamiliar, so I don’t think it’s anyone from the team.” So now who was it? Ria thought that this was just a jealousy scheme from Kelly, but now there was another person and there was no

  • RIA: HIS SWEET OBSESSION    THERE WAS ANOTHER SNITCH

The ride back home was a quiet one, a big contrast of their coming to this place. Ria peered at Alex face, it obvious that the ‘talk’ between him and his dad did not go well. He’d come out of the study grim and without even bidding his goodbye to his mom only going to kiss Evelyn’s cheek and mumbled some words to Mrs. Williams, it was clear that he was angry. Ria decided not to ask and wait until they get back home. Immediately they got back, Alex walked straight upstairs, took his things and went into the bathroom, he came out and went downstairs without saying anything to her. Ria contemplated whether to follow him or not and then decided to go take her bath first. She came down and met him drinking, it was the first time since they got married that he drank, he never drank in front of her. “What is the matter, Alex? You’ve been this way since the ‘talk’ with your father. What did he say that made you this way?” Alex did not say a thing and kept drinking. What was he supposed to

  • RIA: HIS SWEET OBSESSION    SHE'S BACK

“You look so beautiful” the woman pulled back from the hug. “Forgive my manners, I’m Katherine Williams, Alex’s mother. I’m so glad you could join us tonight; I’ve been asking Alex to bring you over for dinner but he kept making excuses.” Really? He made excuses for her? He never told her. “Mom, we’re here now,” Alex said quickly avoiding Ria’s eyes. “That’s what matter, right?” ‘Yeah, that’s true,” she replied, waving them inside. “Do come in quickly, it’s cold outside.” She took Ria’s hand and brought her inside leaving Alex standing outside. Ria looked back at Alex as she was taken. This was a typical ‘my mother-in-law thinks I’m cold situation. Where was the cold woman Alex told her about, all she saw was a loving mother. The inside of the mansion was on par with the outside, there was a chandelier above the sitting room with an elegant staircase curved up to the second floor. The table was already filled with variety of dishes, it was indeed ‘just a dinner’ “Make you

  • RIA: HIS SWEET OBSESSION    YOU'VE PROVED THEM WRONG

"My grandparents raised me, actually my grandmother. My grandfather died when i was four," Alex leaned his head back against the pillow as he started. He rarely shares his story with anyone but with her he felt safe and he wanted her to know everything about him. Ria remained quiet and listened, she knew how important this moment was for him, knowing that it wasn't easy for him to open up. "My dad was always too busy running the company," he continued, his voice was a little shaky now and filled with emotion; all the pent-up frustration were in it. "And my mom... she's a professor of medicine now." "After she had me, she went abroad to further her education, she was determined to reach the highest level and she did. Now she works at Central City hospital, only on appointments though... and my dad is now retired, the heart diseases from five years ago made him draw back from the business while i take over. Someone may argue that i had the best of life while growing up and indeed i

  • RIA: HIS SWEET OBSESSION    I WANT TO EAT YOU

I didn’t hear you come in.” Ria said, startled when she finally turned around.Alex grinned “That’s because you were too busy looking good in that apron.”She blushed very hard, biting her bottom lip. He always had a way with words.“Dinner will be ready in a minute. I just need to dish it.”Alex moved closer to her with a teasing glint in his eyes. “I was thinking of eating something else before dinner,” he smirked.“Alex…” she breathed. He reached for her waist and drew her close to him and his touch sent a tremble to her spine. She wouldn’t lie, she had been thinking about him all day long, wanting him and craving his touch. He leaned down, brushing her collarbone with his lips, he sucked on gently and a soft moan escaped her lips-gosh, that sound. It drove him wild hearing it and knowing that it was because of him.“You smell like heaven,” his lips were still pressed against her skin. “And I’m starving.”Her knees felt weak and her neck leaned back in permission. “Alex…” This time
