Rain’s POV

I stood in the small clearing in the quiet forest gazing at the witch and waiting. Darkness surrounded us but my night vision was spot on. My mate was behind me along with beta Rod just inside the wood line but still concealed from view. I could feel Selwyn’s anxiety and determination but I couldn’t afford any distractions while facing the witch. I know what magic I hold inside me and I know how strong I am. I have never let arrogance cause me to get to cocky. My father had trained me from an early age on defense and strategy. My ancient magic I had to learn by studying the books my parents found for me and by trial and error until I perfected it. My eyes are glowing but that is all I am showing the witch just yet. I will let her make the first move and then end this little dance so I can destroy Talis. It took only a moment for the witch to throw a dark spell at me from her hand.
