Chapter 36.

Three months later.

I stood on the platform looking down at the camp below quietly sleeping.

Under the dark clear sky that was blanketed in billions of stars. We had little tents erected all over the camp for Alpha Wayne’s men that had come the day Wayne promised them to us. Only twenty could fit inside the two empty cabins we had left, and the rest of us all took turns to give up our cabins each night for the rest of them to sleep in, and tonight, some of them got to rest in my own cabin and John’s, who was patrolling on the other platform.

Everyday we had been watching Whitlock closely, and although we’d catch Violet sneaking around on her phone, exchanging letters with the secret leader, there was still no timeframe of their plan to attack. Every time we thought the time was close, their leader would always change his mind, arguing with her on the phone or writing in a letter that his men still weren’t ready.
