Ethan's POV

I sat in my quarters, staring at my bloodied hands. The sirens had stopped outside, which meant the ambulance and police had arrived. Any moment now, they'd come for me.

Part of me wanted to run. To shift and disappear into the forest where no one could find me. But that would only make things worse. Make me look guilty. Make me look like exactly what they wanted everyone to think I was: unstable, dangerous, and out of control.

The knock came at my door. It was sharp and authoritative.

"Alpha Ethan," a male voice called. "This is Officer Martinez with the Metro Police Department. We need to speak with you."

I stood slowly, walked to my bathroom, and quickly washed the blood from my hands. My reflection in the mirror looked like a stranger, with wild eyes, a clenched jaw, every muscle tense.

Another knock, more insistent this time. "Alpha Ethan, please open the door."

I dried my hands and walked to the door, taking a deep breath before opening it.
