Chapter 5

"No!"

"It's burning!"

"Somebody help me!"

"Please help me!"

Layla's eyelids were tightly shut, tears streaming from the corners of her eyes, wetting her

hair.

"No!"

"No!" Fright and anxiety could be evident on her face as she shook her head repeatedly.

"Mom, what happened to Sister?" Suddenly, a little girl's voice rang in her ears.

'Who?' 'Who is that?' 'Who is speaking?' She yelled inside her head, perplexed.

When a gentle lady voice follows after that.

"Don't worry, sweetie, your sister will be fine." This time, she recognised to whom this voice belonged.

'Mom, is it you!' She could not believe for a moment in her ears; she was listening to her Mom's voice again while her tears streamed down more forcefully.

"Mom, I'm scared. See, Sister is crying!" This time, a little boy's voice came around to her ears.

'David, my little brother!' She soon recognised and shouted inside her brain.

After recognising her family's voices, she thought it was the afterlife place, the heaven, and that's why she could hear them again.

'Mom, David, Olivia!' 'I'm here to stay with you.' She tries to talk in her mind.

"David, your big sister, just seeing a bad dream." Hearing her mother's words to her little brother David, Layla was puzzled.

'Mom! David! It's not a bad dream.' She explained. However, no one can hear her around.

"Please, sister, wake up; David and I promise we will never disturb you or make fun of you,"

A little Olivia mumbled with a sob.

Hearing her like that, Layla got emotional, 'Olivia, Don't cry. See, Your sister is here.'

The next moment, Layla felt a warm touch on her forehead, "Sister, please, open your eyes.

See, we all are here waiting for you to wake up. We all miss you, Sister."

This time, she felt David's voice coming closer, and she could not help but speak inside her mind with eagerness, 'David, Olivia, your sister is coming. I also missed you and want to see you all.' The next follow, Her eyelids tremble to be open. She slowly tried to get out from this darkness around her and opened her eyes abruptly when a bright light blurred her vision for a moment, making her shut her eyes instantly. But she tried to open the eyes again once they adjusted to the light.

"Mom! Did you see it! Sister, open her eyes!" David shouted with excitement, and Layla could hear him clearly.

"David...." Layla half-consciously called her brother's name and opened her eyes completely to only see the sweetest face of her brother at first.

"Sister! You awake!" David's blue eyes brightly shine, as his pink lips brighten with a big smile. "Sister! You awake!" Olivia also exclaimed happily beside David.

"Layla?" The next moment, Layla's mother, Rosy, rushed to her and saw Layla open her eyes; her vision blurred with joyful tears, "Oh, my poor baby!" she kneeled beside her bed and held her hand to kiss it, "You finally awake!" She happily smiles while tears roll down her cheeks.

"Mom...." Layla's voice choked to see all of them beside her again. She saw around and found it was her parent's house, and she was in her room. She thought she was here because she missed her house. She pulled back and looked at her family with teary eyes when suddenly Olivia hugged her and said childishly, "Sister, I missed you!"

Hearing her, Layla could not help but hug her back and stay lying, with heavy emotions, "I also missed you all!"

She thought she was now in heaven. She finally meets her family again. How much she missed their warmness, their faces, their smile.

"Sweetie, how are you feeling? Do you feel a headache or something?" Hearing her Mom, she nods lightly, "A little bit. But after seeing you all, I feel great now."

Her voice almost broke to speak that. She can't believe she can see them again. They are just in front of her. She can now be with her family finally.

"Thank god!" Rosy breathed in relief.

"We all get so scared when you fall from the house roof and hit your head.”

“We thought you would be fine, but your head injury was severe, and you got a high fever from it.”

"You know, you are opening your eyes after three days of accident."

Layla's eyes winded, "What accident?"

"Are we not in heaven?"

"Heaven? What are you saying?" Observing how her Mom frowned, She rose from her bed and looked at herself down.

She is in home clothes; she touches her forehead and finds a bandage over it.

"It can't be." "Am I alive?"

Hearing her daughter talking about death and being alive made Rosy scared that Layla was not in the right mind, "Layla, what are you saying?" "You are alive, my daughter." "Don't you remember how you got injured?"

Layla's brows raised with doubt, and she shook her head in confusion; she couldn't believe what was happening to her. If she is alive, or if this is just an illusion of her brain after death.

"Mom, are you sure? I'm alive? And it's not an afterlife place?"

Hearing her, Rosy sighed and sat beside the bed, "Sweetie, you are safe and alive. You just had a bad dream. Nothing happened to you. Do you understand!" Rosy held her hand, squeezed lightly with assurance.

"Sister, do you remember us?" David and Olivia looked at her with a doe and upset eyes.

She smiled gently, watching her cute little siblings upset, "Yes, Of course! How could I forget my little dumplings!" She touches both their cheeks.

"Sister!"

Both siblings called her in unison before hugging her again with happiness.

The warm hugs coming from her family made her warmly smile.

"You two, now, let go of her; she needs rest."

Hearing Mom's words, they let go of Layla and nodded, "Okay, Mom."

They both walked out of the room with big smiles on their faces to see their big sister finally waking up.

After they left, Layla's mother, Rosy, looked at her with concerned eyes and spoke in a wary tone,

"Sweetheart, I don't know why you asked if it's heaven or the afterlife. But, I promise you, this is the real world, and you are alive."

"What you see in your sleep these past days was just a nightmare. It's not real. Do you get it?"

Layla's tear slipped out, and she sniffed with a nod, "I got it, Mom! I got it!"

"You are right; it was all just a mare nightmare."

Hearing her, Rosy warmly smiled and kissed her daughter's head, "Now, you should get some rest. I need to inform your dad about your waking. He spends a sleepless night in worry for all these past days."

Hearing about Dad, she could not help but ask, "Mom, where is Dad now? Is he alright?"

Rosy smiled warily, "Your dad went out for work just today. He did not want to leave your side. But as an Alpha, he can't ignore his people. So, I promise him I'll never leave your side till he returns."

Layla exhaled a sigh of relief.

"Now you should rest. I'm leaving for now. If you need anything, just ring that bell over the table. Don't need to use a loud voice for now."

Layla nodded, and Rosy left her daughter with significant relief that she was fine and did not forget them.

After her mother left, Layla got off the bed and went to feet a big mirror to see herself.

Her head was covered in a bandage, and she appeared youthful.

"No, It's impossible!' She raced her mind and rushed to find her phone, and when she got it, she checked the date and was soon thunderstruck by that.

"How?"

"How could this be possible?"

She shockingly sat back on the bed and glanced at the date once again, which was three years before her death, and she also noticed the phone was an old model.

"Did I truly get back into the past?"

"Is that even possible?"

She wishes she could ask anyone related to that. But then she remembered her siblings, who were looking younger. At this point, they should be almost 10. Their death would take place when they were 12. Two years later.

She rose up again and walked over to the mirror.

The next thing she knew, she had removed all her clothing and looked over her back in the mirror.

She got a big scare once a fight in her past life, but now it's clean and clear. There was not a scar on her back.

It means she returns to her past just one week before her 18th birthday. When Sara, her She-Wolf, showed up and chose Jamil as her mate. This whole calculation made her stunned. She could never imagine it was even possible for her to return to her past.

"So, It's true. I….” Her breath got heavier, "I truly return back. It's not heaven or dream,"

"I return for real!." She muttered to herself with stupefaction, eyes filled with mixed emotions of despair and joy, witnessing this miracle.

"The Moon Goddess truly blessed me with this second chance!" She looked down at herself and was touched to feel her alive body. This reminded her how her body burned and was covered with blisters in her last breath.

Her hands shook uncontrollably to remember that with nervousness as she felt her body was fine; nothing had happened to her.

However, she can not forget the intense pain and suffering that she has gone through at that moment.

"I'll make them pay!" Her expression turned gloomy with hatred to remember her mate and her friend's betrayal.

"This time, I'll save my family! No one going to die except those monsters!" She looked at herself in the mirror with a determined gaze, "I will no longer stay weak or kind. I will make myself stronger enough to kill anyone who tried to touch my family. This is my promise to my old self."
