I sprang up and ran out of the house, ignoring Abuela's worried shouts for me. I ran down the walkway through the familiar paths.

The pack members cursed as I passed, scrunching their faces in disgust but I couldn't care less.

Goosebumps pricked my skin as I ran, it was the visions again, but like always I never remember any part of it, except the chill that ran through my spine anytime it happened.

Getting to the familiar lake side I finally gave in, letting go, I bawled my heart out.

“Whyyy” the sound came out from me. Raw. Guttural. I almost couldn't recognize it.

“Why did you curse me?” I questioned the one above, “I don't deserve this” I whispered.

I felt better after letting loose, a strange calm washed over me, I sat on my favorite spot watching the waves clash against each other.

Howls sounded in the distance, no doubt they must be celebrating Lilith engagement, I scoffed. “I had better leave this pack”

A leaf crunched, I turned instantly to find a huge black wolf staring at me. Its red eyes shone brightly, brighter than the sun itself.

“You're beautiful.” I whispered, looking at it, it was several times huger than Crux’s wolf, my feet moved of its own volition to it, against my better judgement.

My mind screamed at my stupidity, what if it was a rogue, but I just couldn't stop, it's eyes called out to me. I got to where it was, rooted to the spots, its eyes following my every movement.

I touched its forehead softly, it purred, leaning into my touch and scrubbing his soft fur against me, “Mate” I heard a loud growl in my head.

I froze, taking a step back from him, the pull was from the mate bond, I couldn't believe it. I've heard of second chance mates but it was a one in a million chance encounter, that's how rare it was.

I didn't know if to laugh or cry, howls sounded once more, this time it was more of a searching howl, they were looking for someone or something. I didn't care.

It stood up fully on its paws, its massive frame almost engulfed me, it looked at me one last time, before turning and running off into the distance, “no, wait” I called after it, “I'll be back” it's voice rang out in my head once more.

I heard only strong males could send their voice into the thoughts of their fated mates. Does he know that I don't have my wolf yet? Would he reject me when he finds out?

I sat by the river side waiting for his return, but by the time the soft glow of the moon reflected against the water, I sunk back into the harsh reality of my life.

Just like every other person, he wasn't coming. With a heavy heart I returned back to the mansion.

“When do you plan on telling Aella about our engagement?” I heard an oddly familiar voice, cold sweat sprang through my body as I stood rooted to my spot, my hand frozen on the handle of the door to my father's office.

“Soon, after Lilith engagement” my father's bass like voice sounded through the door, it had been my favourite sound at one time.

Rage clouded my vision, they just didn't know when to stop, banging the door open I barged into his office, “How could you” I seethed.

“AHH, Aella. Welcome, I was about to call for you, since you are here I would like for you to meet your future husband, Antares.” My father said stiffly, like he didn't just drop a bombshell.

I searched his eyes for a clue that he was kidding or this was just an expensive prank but he only faced Antares and they went back to their discussion.

“You can't possibly expect me to get married to him” I said, looking at the person sitting by the side who was old enough to be, if not older than my father.

“And why is that?” his eyes bore holes into mine and he pushed his glasses down.

“He's old enough to birth me” I gritted out.

“That's not a problem, age is just a number. Antares here is not just my right hand man but also my best friend, he will treat you well. Now, if there's nothing else, close the door behind you.” He waved me off dismissively.

“I will not marry him” I said quietly

“What?” He asked.

“I said,” I began, my voice growing louder with each word, “I.Will.Not.Marry.Him.”

He froze, stunned and taken aback, this was the first time I had ever said no to his face, but I have had enough of them pushing me around.

He chuckled softly, “excuse us, Antares, I need a word with my daughter.” He said.

Antares stood, his eyes ran through my body, an uneasy feeling crept through my spine, as his gaze bore holes into me.

The door creaked shut and I faced father, my heart pounding in my chest, but I steadied my breathing knowing he could hear it.

“What gives you the impression that your opinion matters?” He asked, his face blank.

“Father, I'm also your daughter”

“Don't refer to me as your father, you disgrace” he spat out, visibly irritated.

“You will marry Antares, pop out his pups and be a good mate in his bedroom till he dies. Is that clear?” He growled his eyes going faintly yellow, a sign of his wolf.

I whimpered and ran out from the office, out the house and back to exactly where I came from. I needed to find my mate.

It doesn't matter who he is, we need to leave this pack now, we will figure things out as we go.

The moon followed me as I ran to the river, kneeling by the water I sobbed at my reflection, sinking my face into the river drowning out the world.

As I rose from the water, the back dye washing off from my silver hair, I finally asked the question that has been bugging me.

How do I find my mate?

  • His Plumpy Mate    Chapter 189

Third Person's Pov. She tried to murder him countless times after that incident, but for every attempt he'd force her to watch as he killed more and soon she stopped but he never did. The circle continued, with Zorya unable to do anything about it, he massacred the entire village while she watched, then they moved to the next village. She was shocked for a year, then when she finally came out of her shell for a bit, letting the warm hearted villagers reach out to her, he came again, repeating the same actions while she watched. Then she swore never to speak to anyone again, but it never mattered he would still murder them and force her to watch. It soon became a routine — their routine, the pain blurred her, turning her young heart wrong, her conception of good and evil gradually changed. The pain faded with time, she still felt it but It was a dull distinct dud. By the time she turned 15 he forced her first kill on her and just like that he'd absorb them after she was done

  • His Plumpy Mate    Chapter 188

Little Zorya “Last one to Grandpa's kitchen does the other chores” I yelled excitedly and rushed off with Kenny trailing behind me. “Hey, no fair, you had a head start.” He yelled back, but I could hear his steps as he ran trying to catch up. It's been two months since Grandpa Keith found me lying outside, they never liked to talk about father but he always called me to come back every 2-3 days, as if I was some project to study. At first I thought he was up to something shady, but then he'd just look me over, take some notes, nod and then I find myself right back out. Grandpa Keith didn't mind taking care of me, they taught me how to do some chores, having never worked my entire life it was a bit of a disaster but I got the hang of it. Right now Kenny and I had just finished running an errands for Grandpa and we were on the way back. I was rushing back because of an uneasy feeling I've had ever since we left the house, it was as if something was gnawing on my chest, urg

  • His Plumpy Mate    Chapter 187

Flashback Little Zorya's Pov I watched with tears pooling at the corner of my eyes as Lord Az dragged me opposite the direction Zareal and mother went. My only consolation being his expected reaction when he finds out that he took the wrong one. My body shook the further we went, I could only imagine my fate in the nearest future. “You're too slow” he grumbled and before I knew it my body was above the floor, and on his arms. Instinctively I tried to get down, “No” my voice was a tiny squeal, like that of a kitten. He ignored me, taking large strides as he walked, more so like my little resistance was barely anything. After a while I stopped moving, my body relaxing into his, with my head on his neck I didn't realize when I dozed off. My eyes blinked open, I was in a room, it looked nothing like my luxurious room back at the palace. “What is this place?” I wondered aloud. “Your new home.” A cold voice replied. I shot up to find Lord AZ staring at me unblinkingl

  • His Plumpy Mate    Chapter 186

“Happened, how?” she stared down at me. “like how did you survive? And more importantly it's been a year. What happened all these while?” She wondered. “I just woke up three weeks ago, Sage took me away, he's been taking care of me too.” “Sage?” I wondered. “Yes.” I gave her a look, “so are you guys like a thing now?” I wiggled my brow. Her cheeks turned into a pale shade of red, I was stunned, too stunned to speak. “Well, he's my mate.” She said shyly. “Mate huh, good thing he's cute and from the look of things he must have taken really good care of you,” I suggestively. She choked, coughing loudly, I barely controlled the laughter that threatened to slip through my lips, giving her the best innocent look I could muster. She shut me a glare, “Stop thinking about nonsense.” I blinked innocently, “So he didn't take care of you then?” “I didn't say that” she defended. “So, what exactly are you saying then?” I folded my arms underneath my breast, waiting for the

  • His Plumpy Mate    Chapter 185

Aella I stumbled into the hall to see the soldiers and everyone gathered at a spot, they were surrounding something or rather someone. I walked slowly, heart pounding in my chest, throat drying, my feets dragged itself across the tile, like it couldn't believe what it was being insinuated. I caught that same flicker of silver once more and my eyes blurred, the pack members made way for me as I walked. The noise slowly quieted as they noticed my presence, and just as I got to the center, there she was, Ragnar on her arms looking every bit the obedient nephew and Elysia tugging at her sleeves probably wondering who this ridiculously striking figure that resembled his mother was. I choked down a sob, she finally noticed me. Her face cracked and then her expression softened, her lips tilted upwards, her eyes widening, she dropped Ragnar carefully and then stretched to face me. “Hi kiddo.” She opened her arms wide. I blinked twice to make sure I wasn't dreaming, but everything

“No.” Eros glared at me, “You're not one. Come on doll, just talk to me” he nestled closer to me. I inhaled his scent greedily, feeling my body calm at that woody scent I loved. “Promise you won't freak out.” I bit my lips. He rolled his eyes, “Have I ever?” “Fair point” I nodded. My voice was quiet but clearer than anything, his quiet breathing did nothing to affect it. I told him about it, all of it, my mind went back to the first time, “back then when I had the first nightmare of killing all my friends and family” my voice shook as I spoke. He squeezed my hand, encouraging me to go on, I took a deep breath, “I thought it was like a fluke or Ursa had done something to me, but the sisters are dead. They're gone, so what is going on? Who was that red haired man?” I finally broke down, “was I really a monster that massacred innocents? They were powerless against me” I choked back a sob. Sigh. “Stop crying love” his thumbs wiped my tears, his eyes glowing with ador
