Remnant Ambush (Gabriel’s POV)

Rain lashed my face as I crouched in the shadows of the abandoned warehouse, the storm’s howl masking my steps.

Bloodclaw’s remnant hideout loomed, its rusted walls creaking, the air thick with rain and rogue scent.

My claws stayed retracted, my human form tense, my eyes glowing briefly as I led Nightmoor scouts through the dark.

Vera’s message from Starfang’s quarters—“Damon’s the traitor”—burned in my mind, her sharp voice reigniting the hunt.

My black coat clung to my shoulders, my crescent scar itching, but the mate bond roared, her wildflower scent haunting me.

Could I stop Damon’s ambush before it crushed her pack?

I signaled Jace, my beta, his dark eyes sharp, claws out. “Flank right,” I whispered, my voice low, rough.

He nodded, slipping into the shadows with three scouts, their human forms silent, daggers gleaming.

My wolf growled, sensing Damon’s lingering malice, his vow—“You’ll pay, Vera!”—a blade in my gut.

My comm buzzed, and Vera’s

Seer’s Burden (Cee’s POV)My knees hit the cold stone floor of Starfang’s council hall, the dim torchlight spinning as my pendant dimmed, its glow fading after that vision “The moon splits in several parts.”A cloaked figure with the other shard lingered in my mind, its pulse burning my eyes, Damon’s escape from the rooftop a bitter reminder. Could that be the other shard? It can't be. That one was for sure corrupted judging from the effects it was having on him.My hands trembled, my eyes wide, my breath shaky. The pack’s murmurs pressed in, their questions sharp, and my heart raced. What’s the truth behind the new shard?I clutched my pendant, its warmth slipping, and tried to stand, but my legs wobbled. Vera knelt beside me, her emerald eyes glowing faintly, her moonstone necklace pulsing. “Cee, what did you see?” she asked, her voice urgent, her hand on my arm steadying me.“I—I don’t know,” I stammered, my voice cracking, my head pounding. The vision blurred, a cloaked figure w

Victory’s Shadow (Vera's POV)The torchlight flickered across Starfang’s initiation grounds, the air thick with celebration and unease, as Eleanor’s words echoed in my mind. It was upsetting to see how low she regarded me, her daughter in comparison to that viper Lana.If only she knew half of what she did in my past life. The festive beat of drums clashed with my racing heart, Damon’s escape from the final battle a bitter taste, his red eyes taunting me still. My moonstone necklace pulsed against my skin, its star-and-moon pendant warming, my eyes scanning the crowd. My leather jacket clung to me, my raven-black hair loose, but my claws twitched, suspicion gnawing.I wonder what that shard Damon held really did.Gideon stepped forward, his gray eyes hard, his aura heavy. “Bring the shards from the vault!” he barked, his voice cutting through the cheers. “We combine them tonight.” His distrust lingered, his jaw tight, but his order set the pack moving, warriors rushing to obey.I

Pack’s Tension (Vera's POV)My boots echoed in Starfang’s torchlit council hall, the air thick with the scent of sweat and distrust, the fact that Damon had escaped haunting my thoughts. His last words in the Bloodclaw remnant base gnawed at me—“This isn't over, Vera!”— his vow, a blade in my gut. My moonstone necklace burned against my skin, its star-and-moon pendant pulsing, my emerald eyes nearly glowing with anger. My leather jacket hung loose, my raven-black hair tied back, but my claws twitched, ready to fight for my pack. I needed to unify Starfang against Damon’s threat before it tore us apart.I stood at the council table, the pack crowded around, their eyes sharp, murmurs rising. I slammed my tablet down, its screen glowing with Damon’s hacked comms—orders from the rooftop ambush. “This is the truth!” I said, my voice booming, my aura flaring. “Damon’s the traitor, tied to Bloodclaw. He’s coming for us!”Eleanor stood across from me, her silver eyes cold, her alpha aura c

Remnant’s Revenge (Vera's POV)Rain stung my face as I sprinted across the urban rooftop, the storm’s roar drowning out my pounding heart. My moonstone necklace pulsed against my skin, its star-and-moon pendant grounding my attunement, my eyes glowing faintly as I looked for Gabriel. My leather jacket clung to me, soaked, my raven-black hair plastered to my neck, but my claws extended, ready for blood. Damon’s red-eyed look from Gabriel’s description, wielding a shard drove my wolf’s snarl. Was this his move after slipping away earlier?I leaped to the next rooftop, Starfang’s warriors behind me, their claws gleaming in the lightning. My comm buzzed, Gabriel’s voice crackling through, rough and urgent. “Vera, you here?” he asked, his pine scent flooding my senses despite the storm. My heart skipped, the mate bond sparking.“Just landed,” I said, my voice sharp, scanning the Bloodclaw remnant base below—a crumbling factory, its windows dark but alive with rogue scent. “Where are

Mother’s Doubt (Vera's POV)My boots scuffed the stone floor of Starfang’s private quarters, the dim light casting long shadows as I faced Eleanor, her silver eyes cold and unyielding. Lana’s coded message—her betrayal exposed in the tech den—burned in my mind, her jasmine scent from her quarters haunting me like a venomous ghost. My eyes nearly glowed with anger, Lana’s lies to Eleanor—“Vera’s framing me”—cutting deep. Could I win my mother’s trust before Lana struck again?I stepped forward, my claws twitching, my voice raw. “Mother, Lana’s lying,” I said, my words sharp, my aura flaring to match hers. “Damon’s the traitor, tied to Bloodclaw. I have proof!” My heart ached, her doubt a different kind of pain as, memories of my past-life death at Lana’s hands fueling my desperation.Eleanor’s hair glinted under the light, her aura heavy, crushing. “Proof isn’t trust, Vera,” she said, her voice ice, arms folded. “Lana says you’re after power, using Nightmoor to divide us.” Her wor
