My mate Oakley pulled the frightened Lilith into his arms and glared at me.

"What the hell has gotten into you, Nora?!

"Can't you see Lilith is standing right here? What if she gets cut by the glass?!"

Oakley was my future mate and the Alpha of the Gale Pack.

In my past life, Lilith had come to my marking ceremony wearing the Luna's ceremonial crown.

Oakley hadn't scolded her. Instead, he postponed the ceremony on the spot.

Back then, I had swallowed my anger because I couldn't make a scene and upset my family. All that did was turn me into a laughingstock.

But now?

A cheerful notification chimed in my head.

"Host kicked over the champagne pyramid in public. Mayhem Rating: three stars. Reward: five million dollars. Funds deposited."

Like hell I would put up with them again!

I didn't back away. Instead, I grabbed Oakley's hand, shoved him back, and slapped him across the face!

The slap rang through the hall. The crowd that had been waiting to laugh at me fell silent.

Oakley stared at me in disbelief. "You actually dared to hit me?"

"Host slapped a scumbag. Mayhem Rating: three stars. Reward: five million dollars."

The reward put me in an even better mood. I grinned. "So what? Should I have picked a better date?"

Lilith looked at me with teary eyes. "Nora, Oakley was only worried about me, that's all..."

I cut her off. "Shut up. No one asked you.

"This is my marking ceremony, and you show up wearing the Luna's crown, strutting around like a peacock. What are you trying to prove? You're such an attention hog, you'd climb into someone else's coffin just to steal the spotlight at their funeral!"

Lilith's face turned red and tears filled her eyes. Her lips trembled. "Y-you're so harsh!"

I sneered. "Good. You don't deserve to hear anything nice."

Matthew immediately stepped in front of Lilith and glared at me. "Just as I thought. You're nothing but a classless savage! Look at you. How could you possibly live up to your own status?!"

I laughed. "Classless or not, I'm still the Silver Moon Pack Alpha's only biological daughter. If Lilith is so much better than me, make her the Gale Pack's Luna.

"She clearly wants my place anyway. You all spoil her rotten, so why not give her what she wants?"

Matthew shook with rage. Lilith went pale.

Werewolves cared deeply about bloodlines. My family might hate me, but I still had Alpha blood. If the Gale Pack wanted an alliance with the Silver Moon Pack, I was their only choice for Luna. Everyone knew it.

Lilith bit her lip. Anger flashed in her eyes, but it vanished just as quickly. She put on her usual pitiful look.

"Nora, I'm sorry. I wasn't trying to replace you. I know I'm just an adopted daughter, and I'd never compete with you... Please don't be angry. I'll give the crown back right now."

She reached up to take the crown off her head.

Adam stopped her and shot me a disgusted look.

"It's just a crown. Lilith likes it, so what's the harm in letting her wear it for fun? You're so petty. What kind of older sister are you?!"

I almost laughed.

Just a crown?

He made it sound like some cheap piece of jewelry instead of the ceremonial crown worn by the Luna.

Not that I cared anymore. I didn't even want to be Luna, much less fight over a crown.

I smiled. "Fine. I don't want that trash anyway. Keep it. Trash belongs in the trash can."

Lilith stared at me, her face burning with humiliation, and tears streamed down her cheeks.

Oakley's face darkened. "Nora, apologize to Lilith and I can pretend none of this happened today. Otherwise, forget about ever becoming my Luna!"

I ignored him and pointed at Oakley. I made sure my voice was loud enough for everyone to hear. "Great news, Lilith. You can have this piece of trash too. You're welcome!"

Then I stepped over the broken glass and walked out without looking back. The whole room stared after me in shock.

Matthew shouted after me, "I'm not letting this go, Nora!"

My eyes went cold.

Good. Because I'm not letting any of you go either.
