Chapter 6 Telling Father Our Driver Has Betrayed Me

Author: Precious Words
Evelyn's POV

The foolish Wyatt had the nerve to treat my car as his own private property.

What made it worse was the fact that Mark seemed equally confused about his place. Not only did he address Wyatt as "Young Master", he even used my nickname so casually. Did he already think I was his son's mate?

I heard the ignorant werewolves around us sneering as they hurled vicious insults at me.

"I can't believe Evelyn has the nerve to try to kick Young Master Wyatt out of the car. Isn't she afraid that he might chase her off?"

"Young Master Wyatt, can you please fire her? Let her become a Rogue that no pack would even be willing to take in!"

I forced myself to choke down my anger and act in the manner appropriate for the future Luna. How was I supposed to pacify and keep the pack under control if I couldn't even tolerate a few words like these?

Wyatt took my silence as a sign of weakness. His expression turned sullen and cold. "Haven't you kicked up enough of a fuss yet? I already forgave you for the way you defied me at noon just now. Why are you acting like such an ingrate?"

Cocking my brows, I eyed him with a hint of mockery.

Did he just call me an ingrate? Didn't he know who the real ingrate was?

If I hadn't given him in advance the shifting herb Father had prepared for me, how could he have become the first of everyone in the Alliance Academy to awaken his wolf spirit? How would he have received the praise and adulation from all the teachers and fellow students?

However, I didn't want to dwell on the past anymore.

"From today onward, you no longer have the right to sit in my car!" I declared, my voice steady but firm and my eyes glinting with suppressed anger.

"Fine!" Wyatt snapped.

His deep eyes lingered on me for a second. Seeing that I wasn't going to admit defeat, he turned to Mark and demanded arrogantly, "Drive."

Mark didn't hesitate to drive off without even caring whether or not I'd gotten into the car.

Stunned, I stood and watched as my car sped away. I'd thought I'd already known just how shameless they were, but apparently, they could stoop even lower.

They'd just abandoned their employer. Mark had driven off with an imposter in his car.

The remaining werewolves at the gate burst into triumphant laughter, their voices overflowing with smug pride.

"Young Master Wyatt is so cool! A bratty maid like her should be left behind and forced to walk home by herself!"

Shaking my head in exasperation, I slowly pulled out a phone from my bag and called Father.

As long as they were still members of the Silvermoon pack, they couldn't refuse their Alpha's order.

"Father, our family chauffeur has betrayed me."

The old phone crackled with static, making Father's worried voice sound fuzzy but familiar.

Meanwhile, my classmates began mocking me loudly.

"Why are you still using that clunky keypad phone, Evelyn? Doesn't Young Master Wyatt give you enough money?"

"Only a relic like that keypad phone befits her lowly status as a maid!"

As the ordinary werewolves jeered at me, I slowly recalled how the old phone in my hands came to be.

Originally, Father had gotten a custom-made version of the latest smartphone just for me. It was the only one of its kind in the wereworld.

Later on, I once saw Wyatt being mocked for using an old and busted-up phone. After seeing how upset he was, I couldn't resist going up to him to try to comfort him. I didn't know what to say, so I decided to exchange phones with him.

To prove to him that I didn't think poorly of him, I never switched phones again. He, on the other hand, would always use the excuse of having to search for information to find me the shifting herb so that I would get him the latest model whenever he wanted it.

Sneering, I toyed with the keypad on my phone. In my previous life, I kept using it until the day I died.

Because it was too old, many of the parts were no longer in production. It had cost an enormous sum to get it fixed each time.

I tossed it back into my bag, as if saying goodbye to the phone—and to the miserable past of mine as I welcomed my new life.

"W-Why is the car coming back?"

The exclamations around me drew me out of my memories.

Nodding in satisfaction, I watched as Mark jogged over to me with an earnest smile. Clearly, Father had reprimanded him.

I raised a brow when I heard him say in an apologetic tone, "Please get into the car, miss."

As I stood still without moving, Mark's father had to maintain his slightly bowed position while making an escorting gesture.

Eventually, Wyatt stormed out of the car in fury, followed by a puzzled Judy who didn't understand what was happening.

"See? Wouldn't it have been better if you'd just listened from the start? You had to go and cause a scene, making everyone unhappy," I remarked.

Everyone watched in shock as I slowly got into the backseat of the car. Mark closed the door so gently behind me that it looked like he was handling some fragile artifact.

"I know you don't like me, Evelyn, but you shouldn't take it out on Wyatt! He's the future Alpha of the Silvermoon pack! How dare you offend him like this? Aren't you afraid of getting kicked out of the pack and becoming a Rogue?" Judy questioned.

She seemed to have noticed that something was up, but she continued to assume that I was just an Omega that Wyatt had spoiled rotten.

Thus, when she saw that I'd actually gotten into the car, she hurriedly confronted me in a stern voice, acting like a Luna who was admonishing a misbehaving member of the pack.

Was she so confident that Wyatt was the Alpha's heir and that she would become his Luna?

Just as I eagerly waited for Judy to continue amusing me with such declarations, Wyatt tugged on her with a disdainful expression, saying, "Stop talking about it. She's really pissed me off this time. I won't be forgiving her so easily ever again!"

Wyatt was the one who should be feeling contrite right about now, but he spoke with just as much arrogance as ever.

As the car started moving, I closed my eyes to get some rest.

However, Mark began lecturing me with his nagging, annoying voice. "You shouldn't have treated Wyatt like that today, miss. If he did something wrong, you can just tell me about it. I'll scold him on your behalf and get him to apologize to you."

His words made a vein in my forehead jump, but I remained silent, keeping my eyes shut.

I couldn't get mad. How could I be a Luna in the future if the words of a nobody were enough to rile me up?

Those in power needed to resolve issues through their actions, rather than engaging in petty bickering.

Alas, I didn't expect my silence to be taken for tacit agreement.

Seeing how I wasn't speaking, Mark doubled down. In fact, he began acting as if he were giving me an order without even considering my input.

"Even if Wyatt upset you, you shouldn't humiliate him in public! Think of how exhausting it'd be for him to have to walk home instead of getting to ride in the car."

His tone was dripping with entitlement—like it was natural for me to be the one waiting on their entire family.

Wyatt's POV"Why aren't you leaving yet? Are you so keen on becoming my father's daughter-in-law?" I snarled at Evelyn, who was still standing beside us. "You should look at yourself and see if you're even good enough or not first. Now get lost!""You're delusional," Evelyn shot back derisively, her brows creased. "Why would I be interested in you?"She bumped hard into me with her shoulder as she marched off toward her car and left.I'd grabbed Father by the hand, keeping him with me, so he could only yell after her in discontent, "Don't worry, Evelyn! When I get home, I'll teach this brat a good lesson!"Then, he turned to me, his eyes blazing with fury. "What the hell are you doing? I finally managed to see her, but you pissed her off and made her leave! Can't you do something right for once?"I eyed him in exasperation as I pleaded, "Can you not show up at my school?""I'll come if I damn well please!" Father roared back at me. "What about the money? Evelyn's POVWyatt had texted me earlier with a short apology, and now, he'd shown up at my house in person. It seemed the little performance I put on this afternoon had a pretty notable effect on him.Wyatt looked at me, his voice tinged with jealousy as he asked, "Does being with Alpha Bennett make you that happy?""It does! He treats me well, unlike you," I replied with a nod before voicing my curiosity. "Why are you, someone with a girlfriend, here at my house?""If I broke up with Judy, would you still like me? Just like the way you used to…" Wyatt asked quietly. His head was bowed, so I couldn't see his expression.Despite knowing full well this was just an act of his, I was still quite delighted to see him in this state. Tamping down the delight I felt, I answered curtly, "Nope."Wyatt's lips twisted in a bitter smile. "So you really… don't plan on ever being with me again.""What's wrong? Did you run out of money again?" I eyed him in scrutiny."You'd only ever show up

Wyatt's POVI had just gotten home when I heard a cold voice bark at me, "What's going on with you and Evelyn lately?"It was Father, who was sitting in my room."Nothing," I said.On the way back, I couldn't stop thinking about my situation with Evelyn. Now that I saw him, my mood soured even further."Nothing? Didn't I tell you to go make up with her? Haven't you been able to appease her yet?" Father snapped, his tone demanding—as though I owed him money.Irritated, I retorted, "Why should I appease her? She fired me! Am I supposed to beg her? Don't I have any self-respect?"Yes, I did feel some regret after seeing that she was now with Bennett. Marcus kept screaming in my head, "She belongs to us! You must snatch her back!"But now that I saw the way Father was behaving, I was glad that Evelyn and I had gone our separate ways.I had barely finished speaking when Father stormed up to me and slapped me hard across the face."You little brat! Where the hell are we going to ge

Evelyn's POVI reached out to pry Wyatt's hand off my wrist, but he clutched it even more tightly.Smiling bitterly, I asked, "I thought you hated having me cling to you the most? You said that the way I kept latching onto you felt like a nightmare to you."This was what he said to me just before I had died. I wouldn't have known about it if he hadn't told me. It was then that I found out how much my feelings for him repulsed him.Wyatt was startled. "I never said that!"I knew that the current Wyatt hadn't said it, of course, but it didn't mean he didn't feel that way."You've hated me all along, haven't you?" I said sorrowfully as I squeezed a few tears out of my eyes. "If you didn't hate me, then why would you have spent all your time with Judy, giving her all the gifts I gave you? Why would you treat her so well and treat me like a maid?"I no longer liked Wyatt. After everything I'd been through, the only feeling I had left for him was loathing. I'd died once because of h

  • Reborn for My True Alpha   Chapter 35 Wyatt Runs After Her

Lewis' POVIn my head, I asked my wolf, "I didn't mishear that, right? What did Alpha Bennett just say?"I had to wonder if there was something wrong with my hearing.Everyone had been saying that Evelyn was some old werewolf's sugar baby, but Bennett just said he was pursuing her.He even used the word "pursue"! Why would he need to pursue someone?Wasn't it more likely that as long as he nodded in agreement, any she-wolf would jump at the chance to be with him?Refusing to accept this outcome, I stared at Bennett, trying to catch some hint that he was lying. He eyed me sharply, asking, "What is it? Do you have a problem with that?""Not at all!"I wouldn't dare to have any problems with that. I just couldn't believe that Bennett had fallen for Evelyn.Did this mean that I'd been flirting all day with the she-wolf Bennett was interested in?I'd even said those things in front of him! How I wished I could kill myself right now.As I recalled this, I hurriedly apologized, "I

Wyatt's POVThe match was about to start. My teammates and I were warming up, but I couldn't keep my eyes on the court. They kept drifting toward the bleachers.Evelyn was standing there in her white platform sandals, rallying the she-wolves around her just like she used to cheer for me—only this time, she was doing it for Bennett.Just then, I heard Anna's voice loud and clear. "Is she trying to win them over?""She's probably desperate to make her presence known with Alpha Bennett here," Judy said softly. "She used to act the same way when she chased Wyatt, didn't she?""You mean she's after Alpha Bennett now? Is she crazy?" Anna's eyes widened in disbelief as she glanced over at Evelyn. "Does she think Alpha Bennett would willingly be her plaything? Who'd want a she-wolf like her who's gone to bed with some old werewolf?""Wyatt, the match is starting!"At the urging of my teammates, I refocused my attention and got ready for the match. As soon as it started, Lewis and I r
