Mag-log inMireya's POV
The beating of my heart turned erratic. I can feel cold sweat coming out of my palm. "I…I got lost," I reasoned out and faked a laugh. “I thought the Grand Council Hall was this way," His brows furrowed as he stared. Fear traveled to my chest but I still forced a smile, standing firmly with my excuse. He glanced over my shoulder before bringing his gaze back to me. “Let’s go. The ceremony will start in a few minutes,” I nodded and quietly followed him but I couldn’t help but look back at the iron door. I need to know why he was calling my name. Is he asking for my help to escape? Does he need to tell me something? Or maybe he has a plan on how to stop this marking ceremony? “Mireya,” Caius called, while we stood in front of the huge wooden door that led to the Grand Council Hall. I looked at him, even though I already knew what he would say. You will never be my true Luna. Keep in mind that you are nothing but a replacement. “You will never be my true Luna. Keep in mind that you are nothing but a replacement,” I bit the insides of my cheeks to hold back my laughter. I never thought I would still remember those cruel words. “What?!” he asked, irritation laced in his tone. I cleared my throat and shook my head. “I just remembered something funny,” His brows furrowed again and if I had a sewing kit with me I would have stitched them together, they are always almost touching anyway. When the huge wooden door was pulled open, Caius offered his arm and I forced myself to take it. I have no plan. Everything was moving too fast. All I know is, I want to alter my tragic fate but I don’t even know where I should start. If I refused to be the substitute Luna then two possible outcomes await. It’s either I will be beheaded in front of the Royal Council or Alpha Edward will throw me out of the pack and I will end up living as a rogue. We walked down the aisle and stood at the altar beneath King Victor’s throne. An Elder stood in front, his palm raised as though he were offering a solemn prayer over us. I watched him intently. My memory was vague but I remember that after his solemn prayer, he would permit Caius to mark me. His forehead creased. His hand started trembling. Did he act like this before? When his eyes snapped open, they went straight to me, sending a chill down my spine. “You are marked,” The crowd behind us gasps. The hall was filled with their murmurs. “She had been marked?” “She wasn't pure?” “How can they offer a woman who had been claimed?” Marked? What does he mean? I haven’t met my mate. I haven’t been claimed by anyone…but a face crossed my mind. Azrael. He buried his pang on my neck and took me back to this moment. Did he mark me? Did he claim me as his without my knowing? I thought he only did that to perform his sorcery? “Who marked you, Mireya?” Caius grabbed my arm and forced me to face him. “Who fucking claimed you?!” His claws started to pierce my skin. Just when I was about to speak a familiar loud and commanding footsteps filled my ear. His scent infiltrated my nose and I could feel my insides turning into chaos. I turned my head towards the door and there I saw the man I had made a deal with. Royal guards pointed their swords in his direction but he wasn’t fazed. He was looking straight into my eyes, flashing a mischievous smile. Now that he was standing in a well-lit room I clearly saw what he looks like. He was wearing ragged clothing made of patchwork cloth. His jaw was rough with stubble and his eyes which looked like molten gold seemed to command power without even trying. “A-Azrael,” King Victor’s trembling voice broke the silence. For the first time, the composed King seems to have lost his control. Azrael gaze who was glued to me shifted to the King whom he claimed to be as his father. “You recognized me…” he thrilled and smiled. “Father,” The crowd gasps again but this time it is louder. “Father?” “King Victor has another son?” The Royal Council was in complete chaos, throwing questions that only King Victor and Azrael can answer. A part of me thought Azrael was lying. I doubted his words but seeing King Victor’s reaction tells one thing—Azrael is telling the truth. As if there were no blade at his throat, Azrael strode confidently across the aisle and came straight to me. “What do you think you’re doing?!” Caius hissed at him, while gripping my arm firmly. Azrael didn’t respond but in a swift movement, he grabbed Caius' throat. “Azrael!” My eyes widened when I saw blood cascading down Caius’ throat. “You’re hurting my woman, Caius,” he coldly spoke. The Royal Guards surrounded Azrael, their swords pointed at him but Azrael’s world seemed to narrow on Caius and he couldn’t see anything else. “Y-You a-asshole,” Caius struggled. His face turned pale and I felt his hold on me loosen until I was finally freed. As if that was Azrael's cue, he mercilessly threw Caius on the floor. Looking at Caius gasp for air and hold his neck just to suppress the blood made my chest clench. “Don’t tell me you feel sorry for that asshole,” Azrael whispered. I glared at him. He was being reckless. The two of us might be beheaded because of what he did. “They will kill us!” I gritted out. “Do you think they will let us live after what you did?! You fucking marked me and now you hurt Caius?! You weren’t thinking—“ He reached for my arm that was marked with Caius’ claws, his hold was gentle, like he was afraid to hurt me. Then he looked into my eyes. “You won’t die. I won’t let you die. Not on my watch, Mireya,”Mireya’s POV“Azrael!” I hissed.I slapped his shoulder to stop him from kissing me. The footsteps are already getting closer and torches was burning brightly. They are getting closer and closer but Azrael seems to be unaware of it. He keep on planting feathery kisses around my wetness.I bit my lowerlip to suppress my moan and grabbed his hair to pull his head up.He glared at me, evidently annoyed on what I did.But his glare slowly soften when his gaze pass through me. Instead of standing, and fixing himself the asshole had the audacity to smirk and looked at me. “I wonder what would Caius reaction be when he sees us like this? My dear step-brother will probably lose his mind,”Before Caius could even caught us in this situation, I pulled myself up and grabbed my night gown.“Mireya!” Caius’ voice was getting closer and closer.“Where are you going?” I heard Azrael shout but I didn’t looked at him.I ran towards the opposite direction and hide behind a tree. This is the only thing
Mireya’s POVI lost my control.Desire had clouded my mind, and I could no longer think straight. All I know is I want him inside me. All of him.Azrael held my hand, intertwining it with his and pinned it beside my head.“Do you want it slow?”He started moving slowly. I can feel my flesh tightening around his hardness. He was doing it too damn slowly making me crave for more.“Do it fast,” I responded, under my breath, almost a moan. “Please do it fast, Azrael,”Azrael smirked. He might be doing it on purpose. He might be moving slowly to tease me. He was clearly enjoying seeing me beg.“Like this?” His thrust turned slower.I glared at him but he would thrust deeper forcing me to shut my eyes.“Azrael please…”The sound of our flesh meeting everytime he thrust aroused me even more. “I’m close…I’m—“My words were cut off when he pulled it out. I glared at him and this time I made sure it was the sharpest glare I have given to anyone my entire life.“What the fuck did you just do?!
Mireya’s POV“I don’t want you,” I repeated.I have no idea if it was for him or to convince myself that I don’t want Azrael, but no matter how hard I try to deny my body was already betraying me.When raised his hand, and carefully wiped the strands of my hair that sticks on my face, I automatically leaned on his palm.I saw how the corner of his lips rose.“I don’t want you, Azrael,” I whispered weakly.Azrael cupped my face with his huge palm and nodded. “Yes. You don’t want want me, Mireya,”He started leaning in and being an idiot, I close my eyes and anticipated for his kiss.I thought he woul tease ms again. I thought he would never claim my lips but this time he did.My body stilled when his lips touched mine. It wasn’t the first time he kissed me. He kissed me before but this time it was different because we are both naked—and we both knew how much we want each other. That fucking jade concealed the bond but it failed to concealed my uncontrollable desire.Even if I remind my
Mireya’s POV “Let me go, Azrael!” I hit his arms again but the asshole laughed at me. He even kissed my neck which sends a thousand bolts through my veins. “I am not joking, Azrael,” I warned him. Instead of letting me go, Azrael buried his face on my neck and began breathing against it. Every breath he exhaled tickles my skin. My body was already soaked with water but the hot feeling I was desperate to shrug off became worse. I feel like burning…and it’s not the kind of burn that hurts…but the kind of burn that makes me crave for more. Think straight, Mireya. You shouldn’t let your desire win. You shouldn’t let this asshole claim you. I reminded myself over and over but when I felt his hands begin caressing the side of my waist, all I could do was bite my lower lip. He wasn’t doing anything yet but I am already reacting like a whore. “Why are you here, Mireya?” he whispered, his lips purposefully brushing against my ear. “Does Caius know that you are here?” My t
Mireya’s POV I pushed him away, terrified of what he would find out. It feels like the liquor was drained out of my veins and I was completely sober. “Mireya,” Caius’ voice echoed down the hall. I immediately wiped my lips and straightened the skirt of my dress trying my best to look decent after what just happened. As Caius’ footsteps got closer and closer the beating of my heart became even more violent. Why do I feel so guilty? I didn’t do anything wrong. Azrael was the one who kissed me not the other way around. And it’s not like I have the obligation to be faithful to Caius anyway. “I was looking for you,” Caius gently held my elbow and pulled me towards him, then his gaze shifted to Azrael. “You’re here too, Azrael,” he added. Azrael smiled while touching his lower lip. It seemed like he was giving a hint about what had just happened. It wasn’t a mannerism, he was doing it on purpose. I am certain about that. “Azrael!” Blaire’s voice followed. I didn’t bother lo
Mireya’s POV Azrael shrugged his shoulders. “I will think about it. I can’t waste one win asking for a stupid prize,” Stupid prize. I want to laugh when I hear those words from him—so having me as a prize is stupid? Well, I know I can’t offer him anything…but he could’ve chosen his words more carefully. King Victor didn’t respond immediately, he looked at Caius who was standing before his throne. “What do you think, Caius?” Caius nodded which made half of the crowd gasp. “He’s already the heir, why would he even agree on a stupid competition,” “He’s the only legitimate son of King Victor, why would he risk the crown to a bastard?” Those are some comments I heard from the crowd. I glanced at Azrael wondering if he had heard those words but his gaze was fixated in front. Can’t he hear the crowd’s comments or was he just pretending that he couldn’t hear anything? Before he could even catch me staring I brought my gaze back to Caius. “Are you sure, Caius?” King Victor
Mireya’s POV Murmurs filled the room. I saw how their gazes lingered in my direction. None of them looks pleased with my announcement but I acted like it didn't hurt. I don't care about their opinions. All I care about is Caius' decision but he seems to be deeply torn. Was it really hard to choose
Mireya's POV No one will come to rescue me. Caius won't waste his time to find me and if he did….my body had already turned cold. And my Mom? She didn't even flinch while I was being taken. She will always take Blaire's side to please Alpha Edward. She would never trade the life that she has j
Mireya's POV I was easy to let go. I have long accepted that. All my life I needed to prove that I am useful so I wouldn’t end up being thrown. When I married Caius I imprinted inside my head that I have to be someone useful to him. I need to fill the void Blaire had left and now that she’s back
Mireya's POV "Congratulations Luna Mireya! You are three weeks pregnant!" The beating of my heart stopped. My vision started to blur as tears pooled in my eyes. I wanted to speak but words failed to come out. My gaze remained glued on Aurelia, the Royal Obstetrician. Am I really pregnant?
