Thalia’s POV
The warm rush of my own blood coating my neck was the last thing I felt.
"Let her bleed out," a voice I knew all too well echoed through the freezing altar room. It sounded so calm. So effortless.
It was Vance. My mate. My Alpha. The man who had held me every single night for three years, whispering that he loved me even though I was just a packless human.
I tried to breathe, but my throat choked on a thick, copper-tasting fluid. My dimming vision stared at the stone ceiling of the Crescent Pack’s ancient altar. Both of my hands were chained with heavy iron to the corners of the sacrificial table, pinning me down like a broken doll. My bare chest heaved brutally, desperate for oxygen that never came.
"Vance... wh-why..." The whisper barely left my lips, shattered by the deep gash across my throat.
A shadow stepped closer to the stone table. Vance stood there, his black Alpha robes radiating power, contrasting sharply with my white dress, which was now soaked a deep crimson. His handsome face showed absolutely no remorse. Beside him, a woman with long blonde hair wrapped her arm possessively around his waist.
Elena. My best friend. The woman who had spent years pitying my human status.
"You played your part beautifully, Thalia," Vance said, his voice as cold as ice. He reached out, gently stroking Elena’s blonde hair. "A human could never truly stand as Luna by my side. You were just a shield. The council of elders has been targeting me for a year, wanting my Alpha seat. I thought you were smart enough to notice, but you were completely blinded by love."
"She’s too stupid, Vance," Elena giggled, her high-pitched, spoiled voice piercing straight into my chest like a needle. "She actually believed you locked her in her room during pack meetings to 'protect' her. She had no idea you were marking my skin in the very next room."
My heart felt like it was being ripped out of my chest. The agony of this betrayal burned hotter than the silver blade Vance had used to slice my throat. All this time, I thought my isolation was his way of protecting a fragile human from wolf politics. I thought the council's glares were a test we had to face together.
Turns out, I was just a lamb fattened for the slaughter.
"This blood ritual will transfer the dormant ancestral energy in your human blood straight into Elena," Vance explained in a monotone voice, as if discussing the weather. "Her wolf will evolve into an Alpha female. Our position will be untouchable."
"Vance, look at her. She’s still staring at you like you're her whole world," Elena mocked, her green eyes flashing with triumph. "Disgusting. Die faster, Thalia. You’re ruining our coronation altar."
I wanted to scream. I wanted to tear Elena’s face apart with my fingernails. I wanted to smash that arrogant smile off Vance's face. But my body refused to move. Blood poured from my neck, flowing into the grooved runes of the altar, lighting up the floor in a sickening purple-red glow.
I hate them. I hate my own stupidity.
If the Moon Goddess truly exists... if fate has any justice left... give me a second chance to burn them to the ground.
"Goodbye, Thalia," Vance whispered for the last time. He turned away, pulling Elena into his arms without bothering to watch my final breath.
My vision went completely pitch-black. The cold grip of death dragged my soul into a bottomless void. The physical pain vanished, replaced by a rage so thick, so pitch-black, that it set my entire consciousness on fire.
Gasp!
Air suddenly slammed into my lungs like a sledgehammer.
I bolted upright, gasping greedily for air as my hands flying frantically to my throat. No blood. My skin was completely intact. No deep gash, no burning agony of silver.
My heart hammered violently against my ribs, sending a roaring sound through my ears. I blinked through the panic, scanning my surroundings. This wasn't a cold stone altar. This was my old wooden bed, with cheap linen sheets smelling faintly of vanilla. Morning sunlight poured through the cracked window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air.
I held up both hands. No heavy iron chains. My skin was smooth, free of the scars I had accumulated during the pack wars two years later.
I scrambled out of bed, my bare feet shaking violently against the cold wooden floorboards. I sprinted toward the small vanity mirror in the corner of the room.
The woman in the glass stared back at me with wide, horrified eyes. It was me, but younger. My cheeks were a bit plumper, and the deep, stress-induced dark circles under my eyes hadn't appeared yet. I was wearing the simple linen nightgown I used to wear before Vance moved me into the Alpha’s main estate.
My eyes darted to the small wooden calendar hanging by the mirror.
May 14th.
The breath caught in my throat. This was exactly one year before the night of the sacrifice. More specifically, this was the exact day Vance was supposed to announce our betrothal at the pack’s grand banquet tonight. The very day my living hell began in my past life.
I touched the cold glass of the mirror, slowly letting a dark, vicious smile spread across my lips. The tears of terror dried instantly, replaced by the burning fire of absolute vengeance.
"You want that throne so badly, Vance?" I whispered into the quiet room, my voice sounding foreign—sharp, cold, and dripping with venom. "I’m going to make sure you choke on the ashes."
Suddenly, a loud, demanding knock pounded on my door, shattering the silence.
"Thalia! Why the hell aren't you ready yet?" Elena’s high-pitched voice whined from the other side. "Alpha Vance already sent over your banquet dress. Open the door, hurry up!"
Hearing that voice made my blood run freezing cold, but my hands stopped shaking. This time, the story wouldn't end the same way. I walked toward the door with my head held high, ready to greet my first prey.
Thalia's POV The final night before the ancient gates of the labyrinth were set to open brought a bone-chilling cold that seemed to freeze the very air. The northern wind howled mercilessly against the massive glass windows of the royal bedchamber, carrying with it the faint scent of winter frost and the lingering smoke from the ruined Crescent valley. I stood silently in front of the tall vanity mirror, slowly unwinding the thick layers of white gauze from my left wrist. The deep cut was still angry and red, throbbing with a dull, persistent ache whenever the cold drafts of the room brushed against the exposed flesh. Click. The heavy wooden door swung open without a single knock. I didn't even need to turn around to know who it was. The rich, intoxicating scent of acacia wood mixed with a dominant, heavy masculine musk instantly flooded the room, overwhelming my senses. Lysander walked in with heavy, deliberate steps, locking the door behind him with a sudden, silent snap
Thalia's POV "Even though the Crescent Pack has been utterly destroyed, that human must still undergo the Trial of the Labyrinth!" Elder Bram’s raspy voice bellowed, tearing through the tense silence of the grand hall. The harsh words echoed violently against the towering pillars of black obsidian, sending a chilling tremor through the entire Lycan Royal Court. Every high-ranking wolf in attendance held their breath, the atmosphere instantly turning thick and suffocating. I stood dead center in the middle of the vast chamber, the unforgiving cold of the marble floor seeping straight through the soles of my boots. Beneath the long, elegant sleeves of my black gown, my wrists were still heavily wrapped in thick layers of white gauze. A sharp, rhythmic throbbing shot up my arms with the slightest movement of my fingers—a brutal reminder of what I had done just yesterday. I had sliced my own veins open, offering my blood to save Lysander from the lethal liquid silver poison pulsi
Lysander’s POV The final banners of the Crescent Pack burned away into ash over the blood-stained snow. I stood at the highest peak of the northern border, looking down at the valley below, which was now completely consumed by a roaring sea of violet-black fire. Alpha Vance's main fortress in the distance had collapsed into ruins. Its ancient stone pillars were shattered to pieces under the relentless, brutal assault of my Lycan knights. The scent of absolute victory was thick in the night air—a heavy, suffocating mix of wood smoke, burning flesh, and the pure terror of the remaining enemy troops who had thrown down their weapons in total surrender. But I couldn't care less about the victory. My chest heaved, my heart hammering against my ribs with a frantic, agonizing rhythm that had nothing to do with the battle I had just fought. "Sire," a heavy voice called out from behind me. Brandon marched up the snowy incline, his heavy armor clanking with every step. He held an anc
Thalia's POV "Your blood is far too filthy to stain this snow, Elena," I said coldly. I stood tall among the ruins of the shattered ice hut, looking down at the woman I had once called a sister in my past life. Elena was on her knees in the freezing slush, her arms pinned behind her back by two massive Lycan knights. Her usually perfect blonde hair was soaked with melting ice and caked with dirt. "Thalia! Please, mercy!" Elena screamed hysterically, tears streaming down her face, ruining what was left of her makeup. "I'm your best friend! We grew up together! Vance planned everything, he threatened me! I didn't have a choice!" I took a slow step forward, letting the toe of my black boot brush against her trembling fingers on the ice. The atmosphere here was suffocating. To my right, Brandon stood like a stone statue, arms crossed over his chest, his eyes locked onto Elena’s every movement. Behind us, the remaining Lycan knights formed a tight perimeter, ensuring no lingeri
Thalia's POV Looking down at my ruined, blood-soaked ex-husband, I finally felt the cold touch of justice. The walls of the ice hut had completely shattered outward from the force of the ice magic I had unleashed moments ago. The chains that had bound my wrists were gone, melted away by the corrosive black energy of my Shadow-Blood overflowing past its maturity. Alpha Vance lay sprawled in the snow a few feet away from me. Both of his legs were frozen solid up to his knees by my frostbite magic, rendering him entirely incapable of running. His ornate war cloak was shredded, and fresh blood bubbled from his chest with every ragged breath, the result of severe internal injuries caused by my gravity manipulation. Around us, a light snow began to fall again, masking the heavy silence of the night. I walked toward him slowly. In my right hand, I held a pure silver dagger, its edge coated in the exact nightshade extract he had used to terminate my life in our first timeline. "T
Lysander’s POV "I will tear open the chest of every single wolf who dared touch my Luna!" I roared into the freezing wind. The sheer force of my voice unleashed a shockwave that sent massive sheets of ice crashing down from the cliffs surrounding the northern border. Thalia's scent—the sweet, intoxicating pull of her blood mixed with the crisp winter air—was faint, but it was there, guiding my inner wolf straight to this coordinate. Knowing she was hurt, knowing her blood was spilling onto this snow, tore the last shred of my sanity away. I was completely healed. The residual magic from the Blood Shield she had left around me in the western tower hadn't just protected me—it had flooded into my core, burning away every last trace of the liquid silver poison Sorela had planted. Thalia had saved my life. And now, I was going to raze this entire region to the ground to bring her home. Behind me, Brandon and Raven led the charge of our elite Lycan knights. We moved like a
