LOGINNot only is Malisha sad, but she is also furious.
The only thing she does is let her anger fuel her. After all, that is all she can do even though she has the urge to rage.
Rage at the fact that the mate she has always been looking forward to seems to not want her even though they both felt the pull.
She was going to do what she wanted, but the fact of the matter is that will she truly be able to give herself over even though she just saw her mate?
Probably not.
But she was going to try.
She turns to peek at Grayson and immediately regrets. Her wolf, Belle, snarls violently, desperate to storm across the hall when Malisha catches sight of Grayson smiling at a young woman. Malisha clenches her fists, forcing Belle down.
She cannot give him the satisfaction of seeing her break.
She looks away from them, takes a deep breath and gets grafting.Grayson on the other hand can feel her stare at him, and slight pain in his chest, but he ignores it, forcing laughter with the woman beside him. Her name barely registered. She had said it was Carly? Clarice? Clara? It didn’t matter if he was being honest.
Malisha might not understand why he isn’t claiming her in front of everyone, but it is for her. Even though it will seem difficult for her to believe or even understand, it is the truth. After all, he was not rejecting her for himself. He wanted nothing more than to sprint to her and make her his.
Malisha on the other hand did not know that. All she could see was the betrayal. And she let herself give into the fury.
Malisha takes a deep breath, shoves the pain down, and puts a wide grin on her face. She stumbles into someone, and she mutters, “Oh my God, I am so sorry.”
The person she stumbles into takes a hold of her arm to steady her. “Oh, it is fine.” She looks up and sees a handsome guy. Her eyes squint when she realizes she knows him.
He is the son of one of the betas.
He gives her a smile. “Hey, your highness.”
Malisha rolls her eyes at him. “Are you really going to call me that?” she asks. “Just call me Malisha.”
His voice lowers. “Just for tonight.”
She gives him a smile that she hopes is flirty. They stay beside each other turning into each other’s companion while Grayson can’t help but clench his fists.
Does she really move on that quick? He wonders to himself. He can’t help zoning out from the conversation he is having until, Clarissa, or whatever her name is, says, “Gray? Can you hear me?”
He realizes that his fists had been clenched, and his jaw even more.
Of course, he had zoned out of the conversation seeing as he was looking at Malisha with someone who was not him.
He takes a deep breath, puts a fake smile on his face, and says, “I am here. Sorry.”
She nods entirely too oblivious that the person she is talking to does not seem even the least bit interested.
Malisha and Logan continue talking throughout the night much to Grayson’s annoyance. His parents had mind linked him in order to remind him of what was at stake.
He huffs lightly hating the way he feels.
Malisha can feel his stare on her, and although it makes her squirm, she does not feel the need to stop what she is doing.
After all, Grayson is the one who does not want to claim her.
The moment the song changes, and everyone in a couple begin dancing with each other, Logan turns to look at her. “Are you up for this dance?”
Malisha debates on it for a second, but puts a small smile on her face. “Of course, dear sir.”
She and Logan share a laugh and begin dancing. When Grayson sees that, his eyes darken instantly.
He can’t even bother about whatever Ciara is saying. All he can see is Malisha dancing in Logan’s arms. As if it couldn’t get any worse, Logan whispers something in her ears which makes her laugh.
Grayson’s wolf is about to lose control while chastising Grayson for pushing their mate into the arms of another man.
Grayson tries to ignore his wolf until he sees Logan move a curl from Malisha’s face.
In a split second, Logan is pushed away from Malisha which elicits a gasp from the people who saw everything that happened.
Malisha’s eyes widen and Beatrix is immediately closer to her. Grayson’s eyes shine gold and he comes closer to Malisha. “Mate,” he growls.
By now, different pairs of eyes are on them, but Malisha does not seem to care. The purple eyes she got from her mother shine even brighter.
“Oh? Now you want to claim me?” she taunts him forgetting that people are watching.
Grayson growls. “Why will you let another man touch you, mate?”
Malisha glares at him which only makes him growl more.
“You are mine,” he tells her which causes some people to gasp.
Malisha uses a spell to make sure that there is some space between them which makes Grayson aggravated. Beatrix is in shock, but she does not interfere immediately. But knowing her daughter, she can tell that she would continue egging Grayson on.
Beatrix mind links her telling her to hear him out due to the number of people watching.
Malisha debates on it then sighs. “Let’s go,” she mutters.
Grayson walks in front of her while she trails behind feeling her heart rate pick up.
Everyone is in a state of shock until Grayson’s father draws the attention back to him. He only succeeds partially as all the people can think about is the fact that a hybrid and a lycan are fated mates.
Whiel party continues, Grayson takes Malisha to his room. He is still seething which makes Malisha roll her eyes. “You need to calm down.”
He glares at her. “What were you going to do if I didn’t interrupt?”
Malisha’s lips curve into a defiant smile. “What were you going to do to him if people weren’t there?”
Grayson narrows his eyes. “Answer me,” he demands which only makes Malisha more annoyed.
What gives him the right to act like a possessive lover when he had made it his mission to ignore the fact that they were fated mates?
“We will never know now, seeing as you interrupted us,” she replies cooly. Then her voice hardens. “Why didn’t you claim me in public.”
Grayson’s jaw tightens at the question but he says nothing.
“Was it jealousy that forced your hand?”
Grayson’s jaw clenches. “So that was your genius plan?”
Malisha’s eyebrows furrow in confusion.
“Your plan was to push me until I lose control, so you will not be the mateless princess anymore, right?”
Malisha’s wolf bristles at his tone. Malisha’s eyes flash, and with a flick of her magic, Grayson stumbles into a table. He heals instantly which makes her pissed.
“Using your powers is an unfair fight.”
She rolls her eyes. “Grayson, it is not my fault you have no self control. Neither is it my fault you couldn’t bear to see me with another man even though you were hell bent on not accepting me.”
Grayson growls, and his growls echoes through the room, but Malisha just smiles wickedly.
“I will kill him,” he vows.
“You will do no such thing,” she shoots back.
“Are you defending him, mate?” His wolf surges dangerously close to the surface, but Malisha cannot help but be unbothered.
She meets his gaze without flinching. “You will not kill him. Either you control yourself, or I will walk away.”
“I will no let you leave,” he growls.
Malisha tilts her head to the left. “You forget I am not just a werewolf. I am a witch, and not an ordinary one at that.”
Grayson’s fists tighten.
“On a more serious note, Grayson,” Malisha calmly says. “You know what will happen if you kill him.”
Grayson’s glare softens, but his voice is still steel. “Do not try that again.”
“You have no right to tell me what I should or shouldn’t do,” she retorts.
“I am your mate. That gives me the right.”
“Then I have the same right over you,” she counters with an arched eyebrow.
Grayson falls silent, torn between fury and desire.
“Since you will not tell me why you refused to claim me like a normal mate, this conversation is over.” She turns towards the door.
In a blur, Grayson blocks her path. “Stay.” When she gives him an icy glare, he adds, “Please.”
Her wolf, Belle, is joyous inside of her, but Malisha keeps her expression guarded. “What do you want to say?”
“You are mate, Malisha. What you did today cannot happen again. I would have killed him without a single hesitation.
Malisha smirks. “Good thing I am powerful enough to stop you.”
Grayson steps closer, pulling her into his arms. His scent overwhelms her, his control fraying. Despite what happened, she can’t help melting against him.
“You will need to tone down your commanding if we are going to be together,” she whispers.
He stiffens at first which makes her nervous for a second then he slowly relaxes which makes her calm.
Their eyes meet, and the tension snaps.
His lips claim hers in one that not only stole her breath, but one that ignited sparks and coursed fire through her veins.
So, this is what it feels like to have a mate? She can’t help but wonder to herself.
He was hers, and she was his.
Malisha kisses him back with fervor, her heart beating in excitement… unaware that this happiness is fragile, and will soon be ripped away.
"So, I need to tell you something I found," Sage says to Malisha. Malisha immediately turns to look at him. "Does this concern the curse?" she asks. Sage nods. That makes her pause. "To reverse the curse, you need the blood of the one who put it," he says. Malisha's heart drops when she hears that. "You're serious." "I am. Your mum is aware of it as well." "If that is the condition, then how the hell are we going to get the curse removed from Grayson?" Malisha asks with worry written on her face. "The thing is we might have to track the user," Sage says. That is impossible, the voice within Malisha tells her. I told you the lycan will die unless you do the needful and come to us.Malisha freezes. Sage looks at her with worry. "Did it just speak to you?" "No," Malisha lies instantly. Sage narrows his eyes slightly at her, but he does not push it. Instead, he says, "We can try to track them, but it will be difficult." Malisha shakes her head. "You are patronizing me." "I a
*THE SAVAGES* "Do you really think your plan will work?" Eric asks Annalise. She glares at him. "Look, I have no idea if it will work. Malisha is quite strong and she does not seem stupid, but sometimes, it is evident she acts based on her emotions," she says. "What if this plan does not work?" She shrugs. "At least I brought up a plan." She turns to look at him. "Can you at least let it go through before being a negative nancy?" Eric shuts up knowing she is right. After all, he has no concrete plan which could make the curse gone from Grayson. "But even though we get Malisha, that will not make it easy for me," Eric says. Annalise looks at him waiting for him to finish what he has to say."Because I have not reversed the curse from the lycan yet." Annalise looks at him and shakes her head with disappointment on her face. "Sometimes I wonder why you do not use your brain. I suspect it is because you don't have one, but seeing it openly truly shocks me," she says. "Since you c
Malisha is deep in thought as she is outside Grayson's room. It makes her a coward and she knows it. She has not come to terms with her feelings yet neither has wanted to. So when she felt that pull, she ran away. Not because she did not want to give in to it, but because she knew she has to do something first. She has to make Grayson better. As she is deep in thought, she bumps into Sage. He looks at her and she looks at him too. "Hi," he says. "Hello." "We have not really spoken in a bit." Malisha nods. "And we definitely haven't been training." He gives her a small smile. "You do not really need it." Malisha grins and lets out a dramatic gasp. "Can you repeat that?" Sage scoffs lightly. "If you didn't get it then, I will not be repeating myself again." Malisha rolls her eyes at him. "Where are you headed?" he asks. "Just going to clear my head for a bit and try to find somethings," she replies. "How is he doing?" "He definitely has been better. He had
Malisha does not bother wasting time to use a spell to get to him. When she is in the room, Grayson's wolf turns to look at her immediately. Malisha goes straight to it. She had not met Grayson's wolf in such a setting seeing as they are not together. She goes to him and his wolf immediately softens in her arms. "He is in so much pain," Malisha mutters. Iris nods. "Should I use a spell, or do you have something to give him," Malisha asks. Iris steps closer to give her the concotion, but Grayson's wolf growls lowly as if warning her not to step any closer. Iris raises her hands in surrender and gives the concotion to Malisha. She then mutters a low healing spell to make Grayson feel better. They are still in the room when Beatrix says, "Let's leave them alone." Iris, Kimora, Mirabel and Beatrix leave Grayson with Malisha. Malisha gives his lycan wolf a small sad smile and mutters, "I truly am sorry." His wolf says nothing like Malisha expects. It takes Grayson twenty minutes
Malisha is in so much shock that she does not tell her mother or anyone what happened with John. She keeps it a secret because the last thing she will need is that. The moment she goes into the coven, she greets some people then goes straight for the secluded library. Only few had access to it. "I knew you will come here," her mother, Beatrix says. "Lord," Malisha says quietly. "Why will you sneak up on me, mum?" Beatrix rolls her eyes. "Maybe, if you were aware of your surroundings, I wouldn't sneak up on you." Malisha purses her lips in reply while Beatrix looks at her daughter with a slight frown on her face. "What's wrong with you?" she carefully asks. "Nothing," Malisha replies quickly. Too quickly. Beatrix narrows her eyes, but she does speak on it. Knowing her daughter, she was troubled, and she knew why. When Malisha was ready to talk, she would know that her mother is here for her. "Have you seen any scrolls on the curse?" her mother asks. Malisha shakes her head.
Malisha finally leaves Grayson's room to meet the one person she hasn't met in a while... JOHN. Ever since the voices started, she has not come face to face with him, but now, she has to meet him. Based on what her mother said, he was not affected anymore. The voices in his head had mellowed and it made her realize one thing... She and John are the ones who hear these voices. And one thing is for sure, they are activated by touch, but that is not her focus right now. The voice inside her can dance around, but her main concern right now is the curse of Grayson. When she knocks on John's door, she takes a deep breath when he tells her to open. "Malisha," he says in surprise. She gives him a sheepish grin. "Hello." He smiles back, but then the smile on his face pauses. He looks at her and he lets out a gasp. Malisha notices everything play out, and she says, "You can tell." "It got you," he whispers. Malisha nods. "But I am fine."John nods even though he does not believe a wo

After the talk with Beatrix, Grayson decided it was time to go home. After all, he had to tell his parents all that was going on. That was what he told himself, but the real reason was he coud not face Malisha. Some might say what happened was not his fault, and while that was true, he should hav
Malisha goes early for her training with Sage. Without turning to look at her, he says, “You are late.” Malisha scoffs in disbelief. “I am three minutes early.” “You are supposed to be earlier than the teacher,” Sage says. Malisha rolls her eyes. “If that’s what you think.” “You are suppo
With a small smile on her face, Malisha stands up. She and Grayson walk in the middle of the field. “You did not ask for anything, if you win. Do you think you will lose?” Grayson’s words make Malisha growl lowly. “I just don’t know what to ask, yet,” she replies with a shrug. Grayson smi
