LOGINMalisha and Grayson kiss as if it will be their last time kissing.
Or maybe, it would be. With determination and excitement, Malisha was sure she could finally give what she had been keeping for her mate. She knew it was bound to happen, and wondered if she would also get marked. She guessed that her mother was going to make sure that her brother and father let her with her mate especially knowing that since he was her mate, he would not hurt her. They had already long forgotten about the party and only were all about each other. The sighs, sweat and tears shed made them joined in ways they had never been with others. Finally, she was finally with her mate. They both fell asleep in each other’s arms sighing peacefully. *The Next Morning* Malisha wakes up wondering where her mate is. She feels a pain in her leg, but smiles in remembrance of their bond. She freshens up, and uses her magic to get comfortable clothes. She waits for her mate wondering why he would leave her alone, but assumes he has a reason. Through her mind link, her mother asks, “Are you awake?” “I am mother,” she says smiling. “You sound happy,” her mother says. “I feel happy,” she replies. When her mother confirms her daughter is okay, she tells her that they would be leaving to their pack very soon. Malisha mentally groans hoping she can stay with her mate, but she will not know seeing as her mate is nowhere to be found. After an hour of waiting, Grayson into the room with his eyes downcast. “Hey,” Malisha says grinning shyly. “Hi,” Grayson says gruffly. When she sees the way he is not looking at her, and sounds weird, she looks up to him, and asks, “You did not mark me, why?” “I did not want to,” he says rudely. A sharp pain goes to her chest immediately. She stands firm even though she feels nothing but pain. “What is that supposed to mean?” She asks in doubt and pain. “What do you think I mean?” Grayson asks still avoiding her gaze. “I have no idea what you would mean because I am not in your mind,” Malisha says. “You are a witch, right? You can find out what I am thinking about. Unless you are not as strong as you claimed to be,” he says trying to make her pissed and hurt. Her eyes turn purple, and she is about to give in to her powers, or turn into a wolf, but she calms herself down. “Why are you acting like this after the wonderful night we just had?” She asks him trying as much as possible to hide the hurt she is feeling even though the hurt manages to seep in. “Wonderful night?” Grayson scoffs. “Is that what you assume is a wonderful night? You must really be inexperienced.” She feels as if she was physically slapped due to the thing he just said, and there is a sharp pain in her chest. Pain from hurt and disbelief that her own mate is treating her like this. “So, what do you mean by that?” She asks still in disbelief and wondering what would have caused his crazy reaction. “I do not want you as a mate Malisha,” he says. She immediately sinks down on her knees in pain, and she asks in disbelief , “ What do you mean by that? Why? After last night? What did I ever do to you?!” “Last night was a mistake,” he says. “Are you mad? Are you out of your senses?” She asks Grayson in disbelief. “I did what I did because you egged me on Malisha. If you had not done what you did, last night would not have happened,” he says looking at her. “You are foolish. You are a bastard. You really are unbelievable,” Malisha tells him. “Maybe I am, but you gave yourself to that bastard last night,” he says with a grim smile on his face. Malisha growls. “I am sorry, but I have to do this.” Her heart breaks when she hears him saying it, and she braces herself for the worst pain she has ever experienced in her life to set. She hopes she will not break down because from what she has heard, she knows how great the pain is. “I, Grayson Storm Ryder, reject my mate, Malisha Raven Blaze as my mate,” Grayson says with a face devoid of emotion, but the moment he says it, he appears to be in pain. He was not prepared for the intense pain. Malisha with her eyes now purple looks him dead in the eye admist her pain, and says, “I accept.” Grayson howls in the pain, while Malisha uses a spell to control a pain so powerful she doubted it could be stopped completely. Through the mindlink, Grayson’s parent, Malisha’s parents , brother and best friend assemble in the room as if they could sense their pain. Looking at Malisha with her purple eyes staring down at Grayson, they can guess a rejection was made. “Why?” Her mother asks whispering. Malisha cries in her arms, and her father and brother transform into their wolf forms ready to do fight Grayson, but his mother and father transform and step in front of him in attempt to protect him seeing as he is in a vulnerable state. “He rejected me,” Malisha whispers. “And you accepted it,” her friend says. Malisha nods, and faints in the arms of her mother. The room is filled with the urge for fight and death, but her mother Beatrix interrupts them, and says, “My daughter has been rejected by your son. Our family and pack would appreciate it if we are never involved with each other again.” She uses mindlink to beg her husband to lay off, but he refuses. When the lycan king and queen transform back to their human form, the queen replies, “We accept your request, and we apologize dearly for the pain our son cost your daughter.” As they are about to leave, Malisha’s mother uses a spell to make Grayson go through a pain higher than what he is feeling. “A goodbye gift,” she calls it. Beatrix made sure it would take a while for the pain to subside, and it would also take a powerful witch to stop her spell. That was enough to bring about the hatred between the Treasure Coast Pack and the Lycan king and queen. When they get back to their pack, Malisha is sound asleep, and there is an emergency meeting in the pack. Her mother is with her hoping her daughter wakes up. “How come Malisha is back when we heard she is the mate of Grayson, the lycan prince?” The beta of the pack asks. “He rejected her,” Malisha’s brother says angrily. Everyone gasps, and immediately understand why they felt the pain she did. “How is she doing?” “We do not know for now, but she did accept the rejection so the pain must be so intense,” her brother replies angrily. The whole pack members in the meeting growl while the witches present try to control their anger. “I think we should go to war,” one suggests. “That will cause a strong division in the werewolf kingdom. Regardless of how hurt we are by what Malisha is facing, we should all remember she is strong woman, and she will not want anyone going to war with the lycan family because of her,” her mother, Beatrix says while walking inside with the aura of the queen she is. The people sigh angrily knowing their queen is right. She gave everyone a small nod, And says, “I am angrier than you all think, which is why I may or may not have lost my grip and heightened his pain. The spell I put on him can only be removed by a powerful witch.” This causes laughter amongst everyone, and they hail their Luna and queen while her husband and son smile at her. “For now though, I think we should keep this under wraps although I know this will be circulated soon because Grayson openly claimed her yesterday. The least we can do is hope that Malisha will be strong enough to handle all of it,” her mother says sighing. “Was a reason given?” A member asks. “As of right now, we know nothing. All we know is the rejection and the claiming. We are waiting on Malisha to wake up and tell us what happened. Till then, we are just as clueless as you all are,” the alpha says finding it hard to not feel a level of anger and sadness due to the pain his daughter, Malisha is going through. The whole lack seems mad at what Malisha is going through, but they say nothing. Beatrix, the Luna, and her mother excuses herself to take care of her daughter. When she goes back into the room, she sees her daughter sitting upright with her eyes purple and glowing. She immediately rushes to her side. “How are you feeling?” Malisha gives her mother a small smile, and says, “I am feeling good mum. You do not have to be worried.” Her mother looks at her daughter, and says. “You are using magic to lessen the pain.” Malisha says nothing knowing her mother will know she is lying. She sighs, and says, “I had to do it mum. I can’t take such a horrible pain simply because I got unlucky with my mate. I do not deserve that.” Her mother wraps her arms around her daughter, and says, “You are right baby. I am not against you doing that because at the end of the day, you have to do what you have to. From what I have heard, the pain is too great.” Malisha gives her mum a teary smile. “So is my magic,” she brags. Her mum laughs. “I would expect nothing less from my daughter.” They stay in each other’s arms, and Malisha asks, “What am I going to do now, mum?” Her mother sighs. “I want you to know that you do not need a mate to guarantee your happiness. The humans pick who they will be with for the rest of their lives so, that option is not off the table too. Plus, there is also the thing of second chance mates.” “But second chance mates are not always guaranteed,” Malisha says. “True, but you can always pick who you want to spend the rest of your life with,” her mother tells her. “What about if I see Grayson again?” Malisha asks unsure. “You will still feel some type of way like a mild heartache for what could have been, but that will be all. You will not go through such intense pain again,” her mother reassures her. “I just never assumed that after waiting for my mate for four years, I would be rejected. I did not even think about it as a possibility. What infuriated me more was the way he did not give me a reason. Now, I will always have to wonder what caused him to make such a decision,” Malisha says with unshed tears. “I understand baby, but you can’t beat yourself up. You also can’t keep on wondering why he did what he did. It is his loss,” Beatrix, her mother says. “I know mum. It just hurts, but I will not cry over it again,” she says. “Crying about it does not make you weak Malisha. If anything you not crying will be scary because I know just how much you were looking forward to your mate.” “Well, Grayson was not sharing the same sentiment,” Malisha replies. “Well, we still do not know why he did what he did,” her mother says. “I was not in the right frame of mind, if not, I would have used the spell of truth on him so I will understand why he did what he did.” Malisha says with regret. “I also forgot to do that because I was filled with anger at what he did to you,” her mother says also filled with regret. “Well, it is too late now anyway,” Malisha says. “You do know that one can accept their rejected mate back, right?” Her mother asks. “I am aware mum, but I will rather kill Grayson than accept him after what he did to me,” Malisha says with her purple eyes shining brighter than they ever have. With the anger and determination of Malisha, she was not looking forward to uncovering the reason Grayson rejected her, and she also begged her mum not to find out because she was not thinking of making sure they got back together. Malisha finally recovered, and could not handle the talks and stares so, she decided to go abroad for her studies.Beatrix had known that something was wrong. She knew that her daughter would not tell her because it would mean the vacation she desperately wanted and needed would be cut short. She also could not have that because more than anything, she wanted Malisha to have fun and also be at peace. She also knew that to do that, she had to put something to monitor Malisha. So, she did that. That is exactly why she had told Sage to reach out. She could sense that things were going bad, and although Malisha and her friends were strong, Beatrix needed more to ensure their full safety. Now seated deep in thought, Beatrix wonders what is happening. She has never been a fan of silence unless what she was doing requires hundred percent concentration. This kind of silence makes one sit too still. It feels too quiet and too wrong. Looking at the pack grounds, everything looks normal with warriors training. Patrols moving in and out like it always has, but her chest still could not settle. Somet
No one speaks for a long time. The silence is so heavy and solid. It is not even peaceful or calm. It is filled with worry. Fear. Anger. And the unknown. The air is heavy. Grayson still has Malisha in his arms, but they are all deep in their thoughts. It seems as though the air is trying to get over what just happened, but the people who witnessed it live in action can't find it within them to do that. Malisha is now seated on the couch remembering the way the touch of the shadow felt, and she can't help , but shudder. She cannot help looking at her hand. The same hand that the figure touched. The same hand that released the kind of power that she never knew she had within her. Her chest tightens at that. She remembers the way the power feels as if she had no control over it... YET. Iris comes beside her, looks at her hand, and asks, "What was that?" No one answers once again. Not because they do not want to, but because they cannot. They do not have any explanation for
Night falls quickly. Everywhere is quiet, but tense. No one says it out loud, but everyone felt it. Worse, they heard it. Grayson refuses to be out of Malisha's sight. He had instructed his guards to guard her with their lives because he knows... Something is coming. They all know, and while they are all powerful, how much power does once need when they are against the unknown?Malisha cannot help pacing. Her wolf does not settle. Instead, she is alert and ready to pounce. Every sound feels louder. Every shadow feels wrong. "I am going to the room," Malisha says already on the move. Grayson and Sage attempt to follow, but she says, "No one should follow me." With a sigh, she adds, "Please." Grayson looks at her friends as if urging them to follow regardless. Mirabel nods discretely saying a spell to ensure that Malisha does not feel watched or followed. They are all quiet and worried for Malisha. The last thing they had all expected was that. Hearing it in person and not
Malisha does not expect to feel it again so soon. But the exact moment she steps out of the room the next morning, her wolf stirs. It is sharp and alert. As if something has just entered their space. She freezes at the top of the stairs. "What is it?" Iris asks behind her. Malisha does not answer immediately. Her eyes scan the space below. The lodge is quiet. Too quiet. This time though, the feeling is different. It is not dark. It does not suffocate like the thing in the forest. This is familiar. "No way," she whispers. Footsteps echo from the entrance. Then the door opens with Sage walking in. Malisha blinks. "Sage?" His eyes find her immediately. As if he knew exactly where she is. "Malisha." Relief flashes across his face, but it does not last long because the moment he steps fully inside, his expression changes completely. His shoulders stiffen and his eyes darekn slightly as he turns to look for what he does not understand, or does not like it. "You feel it too," Mal
The drive with Grayson should be okay, right? Then why is his entire presence every where in the car? His driver already starts his car, while one of his guards is in the passenger seat. His secone guard is driving with Iris and the rest.Malisha had no idea that Grayson would sit beside her. Even though her body loved it, she did not. Every thing about the drive looked normal. Her friends are driving in front of them, and every things looks too normal. The road stretches ahead of them, winding through trees and dipping into quiet valleys. The sky is clear, the sun warm, and still... Malisha cannot seem to relax. Not even a little. Her elbow rests against the window, her fingers tapping lightly against her arm. She stays quiet and exhales slowly while shifting in her seat. "You are tense," Grayson says without looking at her.She shrugs hating that he could tell."You did not try to change my mind earlier, when I said I will not go home, why?" Malisha asks. "Your acceptance see
Grayson looks at Malisha with obvious worry on his face.Malisha looks away because the way he is looking at her hits her square in the chest."Are you alright?" he asks her in a calm voice. "I'm fine," she says quietly. "No, you are not." "I am." "You saw someone outside your window in the middle of the night and you think you are fine?" "That is not-" "And you did not even tell me." Her head snaps back toward him. "I do not owe you that." The words come out sharper than she intended. For a moment, Grayson stills. Hurt flickers in his eyes, but it disappears just as quickly as it comes. "You are right," he agrees quietly. That only makes Malisha feel worse. Her chest tightens again. "There was a point yesterday when it felt like you were going through something that seems like... terror," Grayson says. Malisha's friends all pause when they hear that. Malisha's eyes widen when she remembers the exact scene he is talking about. "What happened?" Malisha mutters a 'shit.' H
In the car, no one says anything. Malisha is still deep in thought about all that Grayson said. She wishes she could get more intel, but it is already too late for that. Looking at the window, she remembers how close she was to finding out the truth. She knew that her thinking about how close
“Don’t you think you will want to talk about what happened when you are about to get questioned?” Malisha asks him.He shrugs.“I want to tell you about it now. You seem easier to talk to, and it is better to get it over with if I am being honest,” Joshua says.Malisha grins at him, a
Two days went by as fast as Malisha expected. She wore a black fitted gown, and packed her curls up. She knew she looked good, and hated that she was being petty by dressing up extra good so that her former mate would realize what he rejected. She knew it was shallow of her to think that way, but
The shock of hearing the savages from Joshua’s mouth makes everyone in the room freeze in shock. Before her children, Malisha and Leo are about to get into questioning Joshua, Beatrix immediately says, “Do not think too hard yet John. Just get rest .” Beatrix glares at her children, and they both
