LOGINAfter three years of studying abroad, Malisha is now ready to come back home, and move on.
She is excited to be home fully. When she went back to her pack, she grinned imagining how excited they would be to see her. She had not told anyone she was coming simply because she was excited to see how they would react to her. She was sadly coming to the pack single. She had dated, but obviously it had not stuck. Maybe, it was because she was still holding out on hope for a second chance mate which is exactly why she found it hard to do things the human way. She had also dated a wizard, but things had not worked out too. Still, a lot of the issues would have been from her end seeing as she is still delusional. What she really needs, is some quality family time, and she will be able to finally find a partner when she finds who she loves. Right now, she has not found the one. Her wolf was always holding on to hope that their former mate will accept them back again as if she was ever going to accept that. Knowing Grayson, he probably did not give a damn. After the rejection, her brother and Grayson did not remain as friends. It was expected to be honest. There was no way he was going to. The lycan king himself had to meet her mother, to request she remove the spell she had put on Grayson. It was comical that he had to speak, and basically apologize on behalf of his own son. There was also a big feud between their pack and the lycans, but there is no way they would bring on a war because it was their own son, Grayson that was in the wrong. Another reason was fighting against Treasure Coast pack was fighting against the witches too, and no one wants to do that. Malisha shakes off the thoughts of the negatives from her mind. She was going home with a smile on her face. She was fine. Whatever happened was three years ago, and there is no way she is going to let that dictate her life forever. She uses her magic to conceal her arrival in the pack’s borders. She drives straight to her home, and is already happy thinking about the joyous ways everyone will welcome her. She was also looking forward to seeing her brother’s first child. She enters her home, and horns loudly. Her parents are already in front as if trying to gauge who would horn loudly. “Malisha,” they both say with the widest grins on their faces. They rush to their daughter’s side, and her eyes well up with tears. She did miss her parents a lot. She should have stayed. She regrets leaving, even though leaving helped her deal with her problem without the constant side talk from her people. She wanted to forget and pretend she did not get rejected after she had lost her virginity, but she could not. “Why did you not tell us you were coming?” Her mother admonishes with tears in her eyes. “Are you not surprised to see me?” Malisha asks her nother wiggling her eyebrows laughing. Her mother roll her eyes, and says, “You are a character.” Her siblings come with their mates, and she turns all her attention to the newest addition in their family who is behind Alima. She looks at her best friend, and hugs her. “Who is that I see?” Malisha asks wiggling her eyebrows. She goes to her nephew, and she grins at him with her purple eyes. She is filled with a twinge of sadness that she has not experienced this even though she thought she would. She is filled with regret that she missed his birth, and she opens her arms to him. His mother nudges him, and he hugs her hesitantly. Malisha’s eyes well up with tears, and she wills herself to hold it in because this is a good thing. She had to do what she had to. At least, she is here now. She is going to be present in her nephew’s life, and probably for more to come. She turns to look at her younger sister with her new mate who is a wizard, much to her mother’s delight. He goes to her, and Malisha grins. “Welcome to the family.” He grins, and replies, “Welcome back.” She gives him a side hug, and she is happy for her family, but she is sad for her. She puts on the widest smile on her face hoping she is as convincing as she feels. “Where are our grandparents?” She asks with question. “Traveling around the world,” her father replies. Her grandparents although against her parents union in the beginning, always travel together as much as they can. It is hilarious trying to imagine a time when they were not on good terms. When everyone leaves Malisha to relax, she heaves a sigh of relief. She did miss her family, but the fact that everyone around her were in pairs made it difficult for her to act as if she is not bothered by her single life. She kept on thinking about her next plan of action, and hoped she could handle the scrutiny that will surely come with her arrival. At least now, it is time for her to get her grafting on, and finally find a match with someone. Her wolf seems oddly quiet, but there is nothing she can do so, she decides to rest a bit before meeting everyone in the pack. By now, everyone already knew she was back, but would give her just today to rest. By tomorrow, they will all be coming to see her. She was sure her parents were also planning a party, but was not going to dwell on that even though she hoped there was no party. She knew it was wishful thinking. Nothing was going to stop her parents from throwing a party this week. The prodigal daughter is finally home. She falls asleep while she is lost in thought. *The Next Day* Malisha was not surprised one bit that she had smiled and hugged over twenty pack members. She grinned at her people. Regardless of how exhausted she felt, she missed them. She trains some of the pups, and leaves to go home after one class. “There is no way we are going to the Lycans palace,” she hears her mother angrily say. “Do you think I want to be there?” Her father asks quietly remembering the rejection his daughter faced due to the lycan prince. “You know this is a meeting we can not miss. We have been awol for most of the pack meetings for three years now. This particular one is about the rise of whatever has been trying to cause deaths for our people,” her father says. Malisha’s eyes widen immediately. Causing deaths? “What is going on?” She wonders. “I am well aware that there are things going on behind us, but I see no reason why we have to go there. This pack is not just like the regular packs. There is a reason we are as strong as we are.” Malisha’s mother, Beatrix says to her husband. It is in fact not a lie. “You know we have to come together right low Bea,” her father says. “I do not want to go to the home of the pup who hurt our daughter, but I also am an alpha, and I have to ensure that my pack and family are safe even though it annoys me to be there.” Beatrix sighs angrily. “I understand, and as your Luna, I will go with you. I assume we still have to tell our son, right?” She says with an eyebrow raised. They turn, and see Malisha looking at them. “You heard everything,” her parents say already knowing. Malisha nods. “I am not against you both going over to the lycans mum and dad. If anything, I am against the fact that our pack has been absent in previous meetings for reasons that the lycan family did not cause,” Malisha says. “It was their son who caused it,” her father says with anger. “Exactly. Anyway, this is for the pack. We have to do what is best for our family to ensure we all survive.” Her parents snile at her. “That being said, what has been going on behind the scene?” Malisha asks. Her parents look at each other, and decide to tell her. “There has been some suspicious death and activities,” her mother tells her. They go into details, and Malisha’s eyes widen. “Why am I just hearing about this?” She asks. “You needed to be away for a little bit baby. There is no way we were going to take that away from you. Plus we can handle it,” her father says. Malisha’s heart tugs, and she feels horrible for not being present in the pack. “Do I have to go to the pack meeting with you all?” She asks. “No,” both of her parents say. She releases a sigh of relief, and says, “I can handle it if you want me to because I know it is my duty.” Even though she does not want to go, she believes she should be able to since it has been three years. “You do not have to worry about that sweetheart. You just came back home. The meeting will just be with the Alphas, betas and deltas. Your brother might even stay back because the pack needs protection.” Her father assured her. She nods, hugs her parents, and leave them to their conversation. Thank God she does not have to see Grayson anytime soon. There was no way she was willing to see him even after three years. It was still a difficult memory, but her mind could not help replaying the scene. Even though the bond was broken, seeing him will bring back hurt that she had buried deep within her. There is no way she was willing to that so soon. Although there would be no attraction, there was definitely going to be embarrassment, and she was sure that lots of people knew of the fact that she is the alpha’s daughter who got rejected by the lycan prince. There was nothing worse than that, plus what if he had married the perosn he rejected her for. When she left, she saw pictures of he and someone else. There was no way she was going back there just when she was elated. The main thing that bothered her though was what was going on behind the scene that made everyone be in danger?Morning wastes no time when coming. It is too fast, but yet it still comes. Malisha is already awake before the sun rises. Of course she is, but at least she slept. Her eyes are fixated on the ceiling. She is quiet and still, but inside, she nothing inside of her is quiet. The voice inside her is still insistent on her choice. Although it has mellowed down now. Malisha tightens are jaw. Her voice is barely above a whisper, but it feels loud in her own head. There is a knock on the door. Mirabel is still asleep so, she goes to open it. When she opens the door, she sees Iris and Kimora. The two of them pause when they see their friend. She looks fine, but still, they still can't help but be afriad of the fact that she is fine. "Did you even sleep?" Kimora asks her. "Of course I did." Mirabel is now awake, and she mutters groggily, "Barely." Malisha shrugs. "In my defense, I have been asleep for three days." Iris narrows her eyes at her. "That is not enough seeing as even when yo
Malisha is not able to sleep immediately. Yes, her eyes are closed, and her body is still, but she still can't sleep. Even though Mirabel is literally sitting at the e like a guard dog. She is not able to really rest. Because even though the room is quiet, her mind is the complete opposite. She keeps on being reminded that clock is ticking, and she tries to shake off the thought, but she is not able to. Because at the end of the day, she knows that the clock is ticking. She exhales slowly trying to take a deep breath. "No," She whispers under her breath. Mirabel is immediatly at high alert. "You said something?" Malisha opens her eyes slowly. "No." Mirabel narrows her eyes slightly, but she does not push knowing just how tired Malisha is. "Try to sleep," she says instead even though what she really wants to say is far from that. Malisha nods even though she knows it will be difficult too seeing as she has been asleep for three whole days. Her gaze shifts to the window. The n
Grayson and Sage freeze. "Things like what?" Sage asks stepping closer. Malisha hesitates at first. "Malisha." She looks at Grayson. "It knows you." There is silence at first until Grayson asks, "WHat does that mean?" Malisha shrugs. "I do not know fully, but..." Her voice drops even more. "It did say you are the only reason I have not come willingly."Grayson does not breathe or move. Sage on the other hand immediately understands. "Meaning it is adjusting strategy." "Stop talking as if this is some kind of game," Grayson snaps."It is a game," Sage calmly replies. "And we are losing time." Malisha leans back slightly, and closes her eyes briefly. "It is getting smarter." And that is a real problem. It becoming smarter only means better manipulation and strategy. Malisha yawns, and Grayson immediately says, "You need to rest." Malisha nods. "But your parents, brother and friends need to know you are awake," Grayson says. Malisha nods and decides to mind link her family.
Inside the room, Malisha's fingers twitch. It is small and barely noticeable, but it lights a particular hope in Grayson."Did you see that?" he turns to ask hoping that his eyes are not playing with him. They all nod. Grayson feels slight relief until he realizes she is turning on the bed. She moans lightly, and he immediately holds her hand hoping that it will calm her. "She is fighting it," Mirabel says. Sage steps closer and his chest tightens at the sight. "Is there something we can do to stop this?" Grayson asks feeling a pain in his chest indicating that whatever is fighting with is taking a toll on her. "Something like what?" Sage asks back. "Something that can make her wake up," Grayson says feeling annoyed. "We can't." Grayson's eyes flash. "And why not?" "Because forcing her to wake up might cause some problems for her," Sage replies. "She has not been able to wake up for three days," Grayson replies. "Is the present problem not enough as it is? Is it not enough
It has been two days since that day, and Malisha is still yet to wake up. The room feels wrong. It feels empty as it is just Malisha lying on the bed, unmoving. She is too still and quiet. She still breathes, but that is all she does. Beatrix, Sage, Grayson, Iris, Kimora, Mirabel, David(Malisha's father), Leo and Ophelia have all tried to wake her up. All to no avail. Beatrix had told them that her mind is probably exhausted from all the work it has been put through, and while that is a reasonable reason, it still does nothing to reduce the way they all feel. Grayson is yet to leave Malisha's side. He holds her hand and speaks to her gently hoping that she can at least hear what he is saying. Kimora opens the door, and stands near the door. "Grayson," she calls out to him. "Yes?" "You need to get some rest." "No." She sighs because the finality in his voice is not lost. Mirabel sighs from the corner. "You have been here all day." "And I will be here all night." Iris glance
Beatrix enters Malisha's room. Grayson does not bother looking up to know who it is because he can already tell. "How is she doing?" Beatrix asks carefully. Grayson shrugs. "She is still deep in sleep so I have no idea yet." Beatrix sighs. "I did not want things to go this far." "Well, this is the result of the situation," Grayson replies. "There is nothing we can do asides observe and protect." Beatrix sighs while Grayson hardens his jaw looking ahead. "You do know that you should not have done that, right?" Beatrix asks quietly. Grayson shrugs. "Not only was it dangerous, you could have gotten more wounds," Beatrix says. "I do not really care about what would have happened to me. All I cared about was how Malisha was. I tried my best to sit back and watch, but I couldn't." "I understand that." Grayson nods. "Plus any wounds will heal." "The one on your neck has not healed yet," Beatrix points out. "But it will," Grayson replies calmly. It looks like he is about to say
Grayson catches Malisha immediately.“Are you okay?” He asks her with evident worry on his face. She looks around and notices that it is just her family and Grayson around her.“I am,” she replies.“No, you are not.”“What the fuck happened?” Leo asks his sister.“I said I am fine,” Malisha says.“
With a small smile on her face, Malisha stands up. She and Grayson walk in the middle of the field. “You did not ask for anything, if you win. Do you think you will lose?” Grayson’s words make Malisha growl lowly. “I just don’t know what to ask, yet,” she replies with a shrug. Grayson smi
Malisha is still lost thought due to the conversation she and her mother had. She thinks about calling off her training with Sage, but decides against it. The only problem would be pretending that everything was alright when they were not. He was so intuitive, and he was going to notice that he
Malisha was unsettled. Not just her, but everyone. Someone had come and left without a single trace. His confidence was borderline unsettling, and his words about the one promised to them was something that left them even more confused. They might be having an emergency meeting soon, and she wa
