Olivia’s POV
I woke up the next morning to a peculiar quietness. The palace, which was always abuzz with early morning preparations, was eerily quiet. I sat up on my bed slowly, my heart pounding in my chest as I turned to look at Jeremy who laid next to me.
“Mommy?” His voice was half asleep as he tried to speak.
“It’s time,” I said softly, stroking his hair away.
Brielle had poisoned the entire palace’s meal, adding a sleeping mixture to their breakfast.
I’d been reluctant to trust her at first, but desperation forged strange allies and as promised, she had opened the exit gates for me, providing an unobstructed way out of the pack with my son.
I took Jeremy’s hand, and cautiously stepped over the unconscious guards who lay stretched across the halls. Some slumped over tables, others collapsed on the ground, their breathing deep and slow.
My stomach twisted at the sight, but I pushed myself to move ahead. The gates were swung wide open already to create an easy passage for me.
I walked through the gate as the brisk morning air played with my hair and every step away from the pack made my heart race in excitement that we were finally free and headed right to our home.
It was too good to be true to finally be in my pack once again after being held in detention by Alpha Damien against her will for one week straight but none of that mattered anymore.
I looked around, my legs nearly gave out from under me as I registered the sight of my husband. I didn’t think that he would be alive after all this while. I was shocked and at the same time happy to see him alive despite the wounds he had sustained.
I moved excitedly to him and made to hug him but he shoved my hands aside with a cold countenance. With Jeremy’s hand in mine, I stumbled forward again, tears welling in my eyes.
“Simeon…” My voice trailed off.
He stood in the training yard without moving an inch. The deep wound from where he had been stabbed was healing, an angry-looking scar marring his side.
Jeremy was the first to speak. “Daddy!” He dashed up, his tiny arms squeezing around Simeon’s leg.”
Simeon stared down at him, his mouth pressing together before finally ruffling Jeremy’s hair.
“You’re back,” he said evenly as I took a shaky step forward.
“Simeon, I…”
He turned away from me before I could finish and my heart sank at the fact that he was cold to me and won’t even give me a listening ear.
Later in the day, I came across him alone in his quarters by the window with his back to me.
“Stop acting like this, we are here for you?” I said.
“Why did you come back, Olivia?” Simeon asked.
The question took the breath right out of me. “What do you mean? This is my home,” I reminded him.
A dry laugh escaped Simeon’s mouth. “Is it?” He turned to me at last, blue eyes icy and distant. “Because my warriors informed me otherwise.”
“What have they said to you?” I asked, blinking profusely.
“I sent warriors to fetch you for me,” he said slowly, each word tinged with fury.
“They told me you refused, that you were content with being with Damien and you didn’t want to come with them anymore.”
I was living an ungrounded life, like the floor had been pulled from below me.
“That’s a lie! I never said that to any of the warriors! I never said anything about not coming back!”
“Then tell us why you were there for almost a week. You have the training Olivia. You could have gotten away sooner and freed yourself if you wanted to,” Simeon scoffed.
“Do you think that I wanted to be there? Do you think I liked being stuck in that pack with Alpha Damien?” I asked, my tone growing bitter.
“I don’t know what I should be thinking anymore,” Simeon’s jaw ticked as he spoke.
“I battled my way back to you,” I said, my voice cracking. “I put my life on the line to bring Jeremy home to you.”
Simeon shook his head. “Maybe. Or perhaps you returned for a reason.”
“What are you saying?” I flinched.
He looked at me for a few seconds and then stepped back.
“I don’t trust you anymore,” He said.
“Get some rest, Olivia,” He said and turned away.
The next morning, I headed directly to the training grounds, looking for the head of the warriors. I ended up spotting him near the armory, talking to some of the soldiers with him. His face paled when he saw me.
“You lied,” I said, my voice sharp like a knife.
He glanced around nervously. “Luna, I don’t…”
Before he could finish, I snatched the dagger from his belt and pressed it to his throat.
“So, who told you to say that I refused to come back?”
The men surrounding us were at alert already but no one dared intervene. He swallowed, beads of sweat forming on his forehead.
“I…I can’t say,” He muttered.
I pushed the blade a bit further in. “You don’t say the things you’ve said about me and get to walk away,” I posed.
“Someone… someone high up doesn’t want you here,” He said trembling.
“Who?” I demanded.
“I do not know,” he whispered, his voice sounding like a plea. “I have a family. I can’t risk their lives.”
My heart hammered as I clutched the dagger tighter. Someone in this pack wanted me dead, but why?
I slowly lowered the weapon.
“Be careful who you listen to,” I said, taking a step back.
“Just… trust no one, Luna,” He warned.
I left the Amory and began walking toward my chambers. I could hear voices emanating from Simeon’s office so I decide to stop just outside the door to eavesdrop on the conversation.
“…you’re being too tough on her,” Beta Ruben’s voice said.
Then there was a shrill silence until Simeon spoke again. “It’s not that cut and dry, Ruben.”
“She put her life in danger to return and you’re going to punish her for that with a cold countenance?” He asked.
Another pause followed, then, Simeon exhaled.
“I can’t just trust her. Not yet,” He said.
“I feel like she’s here for a mission and is even keeping something away from me,” Simeon spoke.
“I’m just going to play her game until I have the facts on what she is hiding from me,” He said.
Damien’s POVThe night air hit my skin, sending goosebumps through my body. I shivered slightly, walking towards the stable where I had kept my horse. The sounds of music and laughter from the hall was loud, echoing through the night. I huffed in annoyance as I approached my horse that was tied together with others. The stable boy ran up to meet me just to confirm I was not taking a horse that didn't belong to me and on recognizing me he bowed and scurried away. My mind had already begun to work out several plans that I could use to get to Simeon. It was going to be tough— no doubt, especially since even though his pack was weak, he was one of the strongest out of the weak ones. I racked my brain, trying to remember if Alpha Simeon had any enemy pack I could pay off to attack them and then come in as a knight in shining armor to help them, but of course— a daunting condition will be attached and he, out of desperation would have no choice than to accept. I smiled to myself as I led
Damien's POVI gazed upon my Beta as though offended that he had even asked the question. Of course I had a plan, I always did. I tried to be one step ahead in every situation. It was how I had sustained the Blood Moon pack and had transformed it into one of the most powerful packs in the world. “Of course, I do,” I replied my Beta with a mischievous glint in my eye. I had a foolproof plan and nothing was going to make it fail. “You really want to make me ask?” asked Austin, my Beta teasingly. I laughed and replied, “what fun will I have, if I don't make you ask?” “Fine, do you care to share your plan?” he asked me. My lips stretched into a smile as I thought about the best way to present my plan to my Beta. Austin always had my back no matter what and he was the only person who had the guts to call my bluff. It meant that if I did not present my plan in a logical manner, he was going to see all the flaws I had not thought of and he would let me know unapologetically that my plan
Olivia’s POV"Long live The Luna" I was hurt badly by what I heard, each cheer twisting the knife deeper. I trembled, clutching my dress beside me, my stomach churning with bitterness. I couldn't breathe properly.I spun around, staring at the stage where Damien stood, his gaze avoiding mine. Beside him, Brielle wore the ceremonial robes of Luna, her smile bright and victorious. My legs shook beneath me.This is not real. It can’t be real. Last night, Damien had held me close, whispering promises against my hair as he slept with me. "You are mine, Olivia. I will make you my Luna, only you." I had believed him, given him everything — my body, my heart, my trust. But now, in front of the entire pack, he’s giving the title that should have been mine to someone else. The betrayal was too much to bear. A bitter scream rose from my throat, and I stepped forward."Damien," my voice was loud enough to be heard amidst the music gaining everyone's attention. The music stopped, and laughter die
Olivia's POV.I folded my clothes into the small bag, my fingers gripping the fabric so tight, my eyes burning from holding back tears. Every corner of this room was a memory I had spent together with Damien—the fake whisper of promises. The way he used to look at me like I was the only thing that mattered. Now all of it meant nothing; I was nothing to him.The door creaked open behind me, and I snapped my gaze back. Realizing it was Damien, I felt my stomach knot in anger, and I snapped my gaze forward. I kept my back to him, focusing on the bag in front of me, forcing myself not to break down.“Liv,” Damien called with his baritone voice, calm and controlled. But I didn’t answer. I had nothing to say to him.“I need to talk to you,” he said, taking a step closer.“What is there left to say?” I spoke against my will, my voice sharper than intended. Damien didn’t react to my coldness.“I need you to leave the pack,” he said. “It’s for your good.”I let out a short laugh, shaking my he
Olivia's POV.My head was spinning, my heart ricocheting against my chest as I ran. I was leaving the pack. I know Damien asked me to stay... And he was the Alpha, no one was supposed to disobey him, but I've had enough of him. Between disobeying his treacherous ass and killing my baby, I chose the former.I kept going forward, deeper into the forest. My feet pounded the forest floor, my breath coming in ragged gasps as I ran with every single strength I possessed. The trees blurred together, their branches whipping past my face like skeletal fingers. I didn't dare look back, fearing what I might see.Damien's words echoed in my mind: "You will stay at the safe house outside the palace tonight." But I knew I couldn't stay, not after what he’d asked me to do. He didn't want the pregnancy, and I knew why. As the Alpha, having a child with me would ruin his reputation and compromise his position. But I couldn't bring myself to get rid of the baby, no matter how hard he'd tried to convinc
Olivia's POV.I woke up to a loud bang on the door. I sat up with a start as I rubbed my eyes, trying to shake off the sleep in my eyes. My body was still aching, and the bruises still hurt me like a fresh wound. I had cried myself to sleep last night, exhausted from my failed escape attempt. My heart was pounding as I heard Damien's voice on the other side. "Good morning, Olivia," he said, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "I hope you had a good night."My eyes narrowed as I glared at the door. I knew he was just taunting me, enjoying my misery and pain."Get up," he ordered. "It's time to do what has to be done."I threw off the covers and got out of the dark area, my eyes blazing with anger and hate. "You know exactly how my night was," I spat, my voice venomous and loud. "You think you can just use me and discard me like trash? You're heartless, Damien."Damien's expression remained impassive, but I saw a flicker of something in his eyes. I didn't know what it was, but I knew it was
Chapter 5Finding Refuge and Becoming LunaOlivia's POVI stared at the stranger, trying to wrap my head around what he was saying. "You're offering me a place to stay with your pack?" I asked, wanting to make sure I'd heard him right. He nodded, his golden eyes shining in the moonlight. "You need protection," he said.I paused, unsure of what to do. Part of me was desperate for a safe place to call home, but another part of me was wary of trusting someone I barely knew. No one had ever offered me kindness without expecting something in return. Especially not after everything I'd been through.I looked into his eyes, searching for any sign of insincerity. But all I saw was genuine concern."Why are you doing this for me?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. His expression softened. "Because you need help," he said. "And I think you're worth saving."I felt a lump form in my throat. No one had ever been this kind to me before. In that moment, I knew I had a choice to make. I coul

His big ocean eyes, so much like his father's, with a spark of unshed tears."Please, Mama, don't go!" he cried, his voice breaking.I brushed my fingers through his dark curly hair. "I have to, baby. I promised to protect our pack and your father."He looked up at me, his eyes pleading. "But you promised me too. You promised you wouldn't fight anymore."I pressed a kiss to his forehead, trying to steady my heavy breath. "I'll come back to you, I swear."Behind me, the pack warriors stood, their worried faces etched in my mind without needing to turn around. Killian, my second-in-command, spoke up."My Luna, you shouldn't do this. It's a trap."I inhaled sharply, rising to face them. "I have to."Killian stepped forward, his jaw tight. "We'll wait for reinforcements. If we rush in now—""There's no time," I cut in.He exhaled sharply, frustration crossing his face. "My Luna, think about y

Olivia’s POVI stood still in the doorway of the grand hall, my eyes still fixed on the last person I thought I would never see again.Brielle was the woman who Damien had said was dead but there she was, in a flowing, emerald gown, her blond hair falling over her shoulders and her mouth smiling smugly, causing a sudden bolt of rage to pulse through me.“Well, well,” Brielle said, tilting her head as she looked at me with bemused disdain. “I heard Damien has been losing sleep because of you,” She paused to get my attention, “I have to say that I was interested in the woman who got him this desperate.” She slowly stepped forward, glancing at the little boy standing next to me. “Who do we have here?” Her gaze darkened. “Is this Damien’s bastard son?”I was so furious that I hardly noticed my own motion as the sound of my palm meeting Brielle’s cheek rang through the hall.“You dare hit me?” Brielle flared, her face snapping to the side from the strength of the slap. In slow motion, I
Olivia’s POVBeta Austin stood beside the dining table with his hand crossed and eyes fixed on me. Before me, sat a steaming dish of roasted meat sauce and fresh bread, which hadn’t even been touched.“I do not need your food, I just want to return to my Pack with my son. Is that too much to ask for?” I quizzed, refusing to eat the meal being served to me. Austin sighed like he had been waiting for this resistance. “I cannot do you that favor, Olivia,” He said calmly.“Then please leave… Take your food. ” I turned away, patting Jeremy’s head as though the conversation had ended.Austin looked at me for a long moment wondering the next action to take. He had braced himself for hostility but the weariness hiding beneath my strong façade startled him. He sighed as his voice immediately took on a softer tone. “Just eat something,” He urged again. “You’re not doing yourself or your son any favors by not taking care of yourself,” He added thinking I was going to get hooked on that but I
Alpha Damien’s Demands."He's a lunatic, Jeremy," Olivia spat, her words cutting through me like a knife. Time seemed to freeze as I struggled to process what she'd just said.I'd fantasized about this moment, meeting my son for the first time. But I never expected Olivia to look at me like I was crazy, like I was clinging to a fantasy.I took a step forward, my throat tightening. "Olivia..."But she cut me off, her grip on Jeremy's hand tightening. "Stay away from us."The words stung, but I knew I had to push through. "Simeon is not his father, I am," I declared, my voice firm.Olivia's eyes flashed with hatred. "You don't have the right to stop me."But before things escalated further, the air was filled with the scent of hostile wolves from the Black Thorn pack. Growls echoed through the clearing, and my pack sprang into action."Take your son to safety!" I barked at Olivia, my voice urgent. For a moment, she hesitated, conflict written all over her face. Then, she clutched Jeremy
Shadows of the pastI stood frozen, my wrists bound by cold metal ropes. The warriors on either side of me dragged me through the forest. The air was damp and smelled of moss and pine. My jaw was clenched, my mind racing.Damien. Just his name made my blood boil. I was so angry when I heard it. Now, I was being dragged back to him like a prisoner. We came out of the forest and into the pack's territory. The massive gates loomed ahead, shining in the moonlight. My stomach twisted, but I kept my head high. I wouldn't show weakness. Not in front of him.The pack's homes and buildings were neat and well-kept. Warriors stood in lines, watching me. Some looked curious, others admiring. A few seemed wary, but none spoke.I was pulled to a stop in front of them. They bowed, like I was an important guest. Damien stood at the top of the steps, watching me."You brought me here," I said sharply. "Get to the point."Damien's eyes flickered with amusement. He gestured, and the warriors released me
