YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

JUST BEWARE!

Blue greenish eyes looking through her specs while her thin pinkish lips formed into a line as she looked quite irritated looking at the computer that held information about her patients.

She twirled the pen in between her fingers and constantly tapped it on the table before she hissed and groaned in irritation.

Knock knock

“Come in” her cold voice resonated through the room sounding a lot like a siren’s call than a normal voice.

“Dr. Valentine, patient Reeves' parents agreed to do the therapy and scheduled for an appointment every Thursday of the week. While the invitation for the evening party the next day arrived just now. Your operations for that day will be moved to an earlier date and swapped with meetings for the day after the party. That is all Doctor.” her assistant, Ryan Hills said. She was both a surgeon and a psychiatrist of the hospital.

As a young talented Doctor amongst her peers, she was stationed in three hospitals and would move back and forth whenever needed. Though the main hospital she stays at is here, she was still allowed to work for other hospitals to help with patients that needed her expertise.

“Thank you, Mr. Hills, You may go.”

“Please, Doctor Valentine, Just Ryan.” Ryan thought it was weird to be regarded so respectfully by the beautiful and talented genius, Luna Valentine.

Not only was she smart, but Luna Valentine is also the youngest one who had managed to become a psychiatrist at the age of 25, she worked her way up from the lowest till she succeeded in life. She provided for her studies and reached the pinnacle of life. If there is someone worthy of their respect, it would be her, their goddess.

She is also a kind person but her cold countenance was enough to make people feel the difference between them, she was not proud and greedy, a modest person who had her feet on the ground no matter how high her horse was.

“Fine, Ryan it is. Send me the files after you leave. Thank you, you can go home now.”

Luna dismissed Ryan after they settled with calling each other by their first names, the eagerness on his face tells her that no one can change his mind, so she can only agree with him to get it over with.

“Yes, Do-Luna” After Ryan left, Luna focused herself on her computer and tried to deduce the cause of her patient’s illness.

It was already 11 pm and she was still working at her office, most of her peers are now at home sleeping or at parties. Such words are nonexistent to her, she was to work hard because no one will ever help her in life aside from herself.

She is a 27-year-old virgin who thinks nothing more than earning money. Her life had always been working her ass off or she would be a dead ass corpse in no time, it was always like that ever since her mother died. 20 years ago, her mother was not rich nor had a man to support her, she was working three jobs a day and one job a night just to get ends meet while also saving for their future that she could barely do.

Regardless of their life, they were happy together, Luna as a young child knew how hard life was and she had no time to waste it on things that won’t do her good nor help her in the future. And that is the reason why at the tender age of 7, she was already working for a kind old librarian in their city who would give her food for the whole day in return for helping her return the books to their sections so that the other adults would have an easier time arranging them back to how they are supposed to.

This could help her mother have fewer expenses just to feed her and use it to save for her studies in the future. In addition to that, she could read books and learn at the same time, this gave her an advantage amongst her peers.

However, life was not that smooth after a few months later they discovered that her mother had a failing body. Her lungs could not bear the toxic smokes that she inhaled at work and weakened her body as she grew old.

Knowing this, Luna started studying science and medicine, she was keen on becoming a doctor to cure her mother. Whatever the field was, she would know and have a way to solve it.

But just when she was slowly helping her mother out, her fantasies of nursing her back to health ended when her mother met with an accident at work. It was said that she hit her head somewhere and caused a concussion, she did not have enough time after that and died immediately, leaving Luna an orphan at the age of 9.

The company was held responsible and paid enough money to help her till she turned 18 and strong enough to fend for herself. She gritted her teeth in anger and bear with how life has been so hard on her, she pursued and continued working every day, sleeping 5 hours a day or even less when needed.

The insurance and compensation money she had been getting monthly since 9 was the money she used to save for a house she could live on and at the age of 15, she made it. 3 years later she saved up enough for her college and her insurance ended there, luckily she wasn’t lazy and had a job to feed her and save for her future.

She didn’t have to worry about school expenses since she was paid a 100% scholarship and allowance for having the highest grades. Students of her school had known her and they secretly admired her, she was known for her hard work and her existence built an inspiration amongst her peers to work harder and thus earning a favorable opinion to their professors once they learned about it.

No one dared to bully her because of her experiences, not even the bratty queen bees and self-entitled brats at her school because not only she was protected by half of the student body and professors, they too admired her courage.

At the age of 20, she graduated early while already doing her residency during her years of studying. She was undoubtedly very smart, a genius in a few people’s eyes. But she knew she couldn’t reach anything if she did not spend all her life studying for it.

Soon her work paid off and she was scouted by hundreds of hospitals and started working and now, she managed to build a restaurant of her own and become a high-paying psychiatrist and surgeon.

She had bought her own house and two cars saved money to live leisurely and helped orphanages at the same time.

Luna became the light for her patients and the people she helped, but this did not make her into someone who thinks too highly of herself. She was modest and kind. She gave families warmth because she wanted to protect them when no one did to her own.

Luna turned off the computer and decided to go home after she was satisfied with her work. She picked up her keys, purse, and phone before turning off all the lights. She had built a habit of turning things off when it was not needed to save electricity. All her co-workers noticed this and somehow developed her habits as well.

She was not oblivious to everything, more so, she chose to ignore it since it does not affect her life and won’t hurt her.

“Goodbye Dr. Valentine, keep safe.” the nurses at the front desk said after she passed by. She nodded softly and smiled at them before uttering a silent bye as well.

Her stomach grumbled and made her realize that she didn’t eat her dinner yet and only ate lunch that could barely feed her. She had 3 surgeries and appointments today so it was difficult for her to fill her stomach. Although some workers noticed it gave food, she soon forgot about it and wasn’t able to eat after being cooped up at work.

She barely had time to eat, what more to having a relationship, romance is shit. A fucked up thing but she won’t stop it once it knocks on her door and thinks it's a good one. But for now, she thinks men are shit.

Her deep hatred for men started after that two-faced man appeared in her life. Her biological father abandoned them for fame, status, and power. A selfish person who everyone thought was so holy and kind when in fact he dared to admit before her that he wished she died with her mother.

Long ago, her mother met the man, and at that time she was still the daughter of a powerful family, they loved each other and had her. However her mother’s family met a step back when they were schemed by some unknown forces and lost everything, her father left her and Luna saying he was being forced to marry the young daughter of a prominent and powerful family and his family will allow him to marry a nobody that will not be able to support him in his political career.

Her mother was forced to raise her for years and soon met her end. Luna had no purpose to see her father and even wanted to cut her ties with him, but her mother’s wish was to not fill herself with hatred and live a good life.
