"Have you found any?" She asked, they were still running.

"Nope."

"I guess he still thinks the sacrifice was accepted," Ryan replied, slowing down his pace, "And, in case you've not heard, we've been banned from the Dungeon and its environs."

"You heard me right."

"Yep, and you've been branded the carrier of misfortune, so your case is far worse than mine."

Stephanie adjusted her skirt and makeup for what seemed like the hundredth time. She was going to make him notice her. She couldn't wrap her head around the fact he had not even glanced at her for a bit since he came. She retouched her makeup for the last time before stepping out of the dressing room.

She rolled her eyes when she saw him with his twin.

"Why must they be together?" She muttered to herself. Raising her head high, she approached them.

"Hey, ummm.. Ryan?" He glanced at her for a second before turning back to his sister.

"Can I talk to you for a second?"

"I'm bu..." he started to say, but was cut off by Rihanna, "Well, I'll take this as my cue to leave," her eyes travelled from Stephanie's hair down to her shoes.

"Actually, I'm really busy now. Bye," Ryan walked out.

Stephanie stood there, feeling humiliated. This was the first time a boy would turn her down.

"You sure will regret this!" She stormed off in fury.

Soda sat on a stool at the backyard. She was visibly worried. Her eyes were red from much crying. Lilac sat quietly opposite, watching her intently with worry in her heart. After a long time of staring blankly at the wall, she rested her head on Lilac's laps.

Lilac understood not to pressure her to talk. She only patted her back soothingly. Soon after, Soda's cries faded and she slept off.

Her siblings sat on the bed. They knew from the beginning that something was off with Soda. Now, they were more perturbed. Soda cried more often. Most times, she was lost in thought and became more secretive which was unlike her. They couldn't even remember the last time she ate properly.

There was a large commotion in the proprietor's office. A lot of students were already lurking around, trying to get a little gist of what was going on. Inside the proprietor's office, Mrs Craig refused to calm down.

"Ma'am, we can't achieve much when the tension is high. We need to calm down," the proprietor tried to ease the tension.

"I can't believe you are saying this. Calm down? When my only child is missing?!"

"I totally understand, Ma'am. But you also need to understand that throwing a tantrum won't help in bringing your daughter back."

"Oh! Really? This is what it is? I'm throwing a tantrum? There's really no problem! No problem at all! You all have a bad day!"

The proprietor and her assistant sighed immediately she was out of the office.
