Chapter 10:“unscrupulous merchant”Sebastian

Van Dijk's cold gaze: "Are you sure you want to oppose me?"

The short-haired woman gave him a glance and said, "The highest bidder wins, we each set our own prices. How can that be considered targeting? Just because you have your eye on something, doesn't mean others can't desire it too."

"Is there a price you have in mind?"

"How I set the price is my business."

"Very well!" Van Dijk coldly uttered this and turned to leave.

Fifty thousand was just a small matter for him. It was merely for a beginner's equipment. As the descendant of a business family, he didn't want to be a sucker.

Furthermore, he felt that even if he was willing to pay fifty thousand, the other party would continue to raise the price.

"Wait, Mr.Van," Sebastian suddenly called out to him.

Van Dijk turned around, and Sebastian said with a 'sincere' expression, "After all, we're friends. If you're willing to pay half a million, I'll sell you the bow."

Van Dijk was delighted and immediately agreed.

The short-haired woman was taken aback and said with annoyance, "How can you change your mind like this? Didn't we agree that the highest bidder wins?"

Sebastian, feeling embarrassed, said, "I'm sorry, beautiful. I know Van Dijk, and he just helped me a moment ago. I owe him a favor. Please understand."

The short-haired woman bit her lip but ultimately didn't say anything more. After all, she had overheard Van Dijk's conversation with Sebastian, confirming that the two indeed knew each other.

"Sebastian, I've made a friend in you! Send me your account, and I'll transfer the money to you right away. Once the money is in, you can give me the equipment."

Van Dijk grinned triumphantly; he had spent the money quite willingly.

"By the way, I have quite a bit of in-game currency. I suppose your guild at this early stage of the game needs game coins the most. How about I sell them to you as well?"

Van Dijk was even happier, nodding repeatedly, and said, "These game coins are truly timely. I'll take them, and I'll add another fifty thousand."

In truth, these game coins weren't worth fifty thousand, but Van Dijk was simply looking to build a closer relationship with Sebastian.

Sebastian, not wasting any time, sent his account to Van Dijk. One of Van Dijk's subordinates immediately logged off.

In less than a minute, Sebastian's phone received a bank notification: 550,000 had been transferred neatly into his account.

After receiving the money, Sebastian handed over the Green Serpent Bow, along with over a hundred poison arrows and more than a hundred copper coins, to Van Dijk.

The short-haired woman realized she had no other option and left with a cold expression.

Van Dijk was quite pleased and was about to strengthen his bond with Sebastian.

However, Sebastian took his leave once again, leaving Van Dijk somewhat disappointed. He still wanted to ask Sebastian if he was willing to sell his storage bag.

Out of sight of the others, Sebastian followed the group of female players who were leaving.

The "Stalker of Beauties" program officially began, in a playful sense.

In the wild boar forest outside the village, Sebastian spotted the short-haired woman leading her group in leveling up and hunting monsters.

Sebastian walked over, and they quickly noticed him.

"What are you doing here?" the short-haired woman asked with some disdain in her eyes.

Her aversion wasn't due to Sebastian not buying her equipment but rather her disdain for people like Sebastian and Van Dijk, who acted like close friends. Those who could get close to Van Dijk were either his lackeys or people with similarly ill intentions.

Sebastian, however, didn't mind her expression and got straight to the point. "Can we have a private chat? It will only take two minutes."

The short-haired woman noticed that Sebastian had just met Van Dijk, and she thought he was probably deceived by Van Dijk's surface charm. She had some reservations but agreed, saying, "Let's talk on the side."

They walked to a quieter spot, and she asked, "What's the matter? Go on."

"I'll sell you a piece of information for fifty thousand," Sebastian started with his business-like tone.

The short-haired woman's expression soured even further as she mocked, "Are you trying to deceive me? What information could be worth fifty thousand?"

"One that will put your guild ahead of others. You're not curious how I could bear to sell such a valuable piece of equipment?" Sebastian's words improved the short-haired woman's mood slightly.

"Tell me the information first. If it's worth the price, I'll give you fifty thousand."

Sebastian, however, played hardball and turned to leave, saying, "No, this information will be sold to Van Dijk for at least a million."

"Wait, come back!" The short-haired woman was frustrated but had to call him back. She didn't trust Sebastian, but she was even more afraid that Sebastian's information was real and that he'd sell it to Van Dijk, giving him an upper hand.

Sebastian had been waiting for this; as soon as she called out to him, he turned back, grinning at the woman.

Frustrated, the short-haired woman glared at Sebastian. "If you deceive me, I'll make you suffer the consequences of angering our Moonshadow Guild. Send me your account."

Sebastian wasn't the least bit intimidated, cheerfully sending his account information. In no time, his account was credited with another fifty thousand.

In less than an hour since entering the game, Sebastian had already made a million.

Before his rebirth, he might have been ecstatic and singing about his fortune, but now he had no interest in money, as Mr. Ma would say, "I'm not interested in money."

Because when the game integrated with reality, the real-world currency was worthless.

However, for now, he still needed money. He still owed Ren Lan money, and he couldn't exactly freeload, even though he did consider it.

"What kind of mission are you taking on?" Sebastian asked.

Without revealing the information, Sebastian first asked the short-haired woman a question.

With a skeptical expression, the short-haired woman replied, "It's a mission from the village butcher, requiring wild boar meat. Why do you ask?"

"Don't take it. Abandon this mission."

"Why?"

The short-haired woman stared into Sebastian's eyes.

She was currently suspicious that this guy was sent by Van Dijk to trick her.

If that was the case, she would kill him on the spot.

"Your approach to the weapon shop is wrong. The shop owner is forging, and all you need to do is help him operate the bellows for five minutes. After that, you'll be able to take on missions."

"Really?" The short-haired woman began to doubt.

"Do you think I'm lying? You can have one of your subordinates try it out, but be discreet, don't let other players know, or the information won't be worth as much."

Upon hearing this, the short-haired woman called over a female subordinate. The subordinate accepted the order and quickly headed to the village.

Sebastian waited with the short-haired woman.

"Is this kind of information really worth fifty thousand? You're making money too easily," she said, still thinking the mission wasn't worth that much.

Sebastian smiled and said, "The mission itself isn't worth much, but the rewards are highly valuable."

Saying that, Sebastian took out the sealed letter. The short-haired woman was astonished. "This is... a sect letter?"

Sebastian nodded. "That's right. You can only find out where the sect is and join it with this. That's why these boar-killing missions are useless; they only reward you with copper coins and cultivation."

The short-haired woman was somewhat perplexed. "But aren't copper coins and cultivation very important?"

Sebastian stretched and replied, "Cultivation is indeed crucial, but when you accept missions from the sect, the cultivation rewards are much higher. And there are many ways to increase your cultivation. As for copper coins, they're just the currency for transactions in the mortal world. What's truly valuable is spirit stones."

The short-haired woman was slightly taken aback by this news.

"How do you know so much?" she asked.

"You don't need to worry about that. Just tell me whether this information is worth fifty thousand."

After a moment of contemplation, the short-haired woman honestly replied, "If what you're saying is true, then it's definitely worth the price."
