I raised my head up to look at the sun, knowing it was the last time I would see the light of the day. The sun has never been so beautiful and bright. Suddenly, the silhouette of a man loomed over me, blocking me from the view that I was enjoying.
The refreshing scent of lemons was wrapped around him and I, who didn't want to cry, felt tears prick at the back of my eyes. Though lemons were not the sweetest of all fruits, I have always loved it.
I smiled through my pain, and then I felt it, the hot slash of pain as the blade of the executioner hit my neck, separating my head from the rest of my body and then everything was gone. All I could see was darkness.
I gasped as I felt a cold liquid splash on her face and I did not need to be told twice that someone had poured a bucket of cold water on my face. It must be my stupid sister Gloria, but before I could open my eyes I felt a different memory's flooding my head making me groan in pain but my hands felt too heavy to lift, I wanted to grab my head.
Memories of me turning eighteen and meeting my wolf and my mate. My mate turned out to be Paul, who I have always had a crush on, but he rejected me and chose to be with Anna. How heartbroken I was and how I met and bumped into Anna unintentionally causing her to miscarry and how I was executed. I felt pains in my neck where the blade of the executioner had cut through, separating my head from the rest of my body
I was supposed to be dead, right? So, why was I alive? I was about to pinch myself to see if I could feel pain when the memories of a girl I had never met before my death began to flash through my head just as mine had. Why was I getting someone else's memory?
"Stand up, you stupid Omega maid."
Omega? Who were they calling an Omega? Surely, I wasn't the one, right? But why does it feel like I was the one the voice was referring to?
"She was hit on the head, and it's a miracle that she is still alive, but do you think that emptying litter and drums of water on her is going to arouse her?” An oddly familiar voice yelled, causing me to cringe and itch to cover my ears with my hands. Why were they so loud?.
"Well, I will make the river go dry if it means waking her up. Did you hear what the head housekeeper said? All maids should assemble outside” another feminine voice yelled, but this one was not in the least bit familiar.
" She's not alright and no one even tried to get her treated, it's not fair." This particular voice was smooth and low but still, I heard it loud and clear as the three girls continued to argue.
I seemed to be the one they were arguing about. I also wanted so much to get up, but my body felt too heavy. I forced my eyes open, blinking slowly as I took in the unfamiliar and dirty ceiling above me.
I flexed my fingers and then my palms before bringing it up to hold my aching heavy. A groan left my mouth as I struggled to sit up on whatever hard surface it was that I had been laid on.
The first girl who had chided them for pouring water on me seemed to notice that I was awake first because she stopped arguing and rushed to me
"Angela, oh bless the moon goddess. You are awake” she reached out to support me.
" Thank you" my voice came out croaked as my lips were dry and parched.
"How do you feel?” Worry was swirling in the pool of her honey colored eyes.
She was a girl from Angela's memory, and she was Angela's friend and the only person who had ever shown Angela love. Why was I here? And what did she just call me? Did she just call me Angela?
"Angela, can you hear me?" The girl who I now know her name to be Amber from Angela's memory looked scared when I did not reply.
"Why are you calling me Angela?" I could not understand what was going on.
First, I reincarnated after my execution, which was something impossible. After waking up, I still had my memory's intact, but I also got the memories of another girl. How real was everything that was going on right now?
"Oh dear, was the hit to your head so hard that you have lost your memory?" The girl who said she was going to make the river go dry just to wake me up was now peering down at me. Her eyes held derision and her voice, mockery.
"Stop that Piper” Amber snapped
"How many is this?” Amber raised three fingers in front of my face.
I gave her a look which I was sure was asking if she was stupid, “that's three”
"Oh, thank God, now can you remember your name?” Amber was looking at me, eyes filled with heartache.
Simple "Mary-lee”
"I said it? She has lost her memories". Me
Piper's voice was smug, " didn't you say that her name was Angela?” She was asking Amber.
" Your name is Angela not Mary or whatever you just said” Amber looked like she was about to cry
" Angela,” I murmured, tasting the name in my mouth. I like the name but still, it wasn't mine.
"Yes, Angela" Amber was nodding her head like a rattle doll.
I gasped as I finally realized what was going on. I looked around the unfamiliar room until I saw what I was searching for. A mirror.
I willed my body to move, and I scrambled up from what I had now known was a bed and rushed to the mirror. My legs gave way under me but Amber, bless her heart, was quick to catch me before I could hit the ground.
"What are you doing, Angela?” Amber yelled at me and I knew she was scared.
" I told you, she has gone mad”
I ignored them and walked slowly to the mirror with Amber's support. My eyes widened in surprise at the face that stared back at me.
Ethereal beauty, that was the only word to qualify the beautiful yet dirt smeared face that was staring back at me. I had thought that Paul's sister, Miranda, was the most beautiful woman, but now I know that I was mistaken. This was an otherworldly beauty. A face that should only belong to a celestial being.
The face was refined and gently sculpted, narrow forehead, high rounded eyebrows with forest green eyes. Long pointed nose and narrow jaws with a small tapering chin. With small pale pink lips.
I raised my heavy hands to touch the face. I was in Angela's body. I reincarnated in the body of another woman. How did this even happen?
"Angela, what are you doing?” Amber shook me.
"Admiring her hideous and wretched face” Piper sneered, her face twisted in an ugly frown
" I am fine” I croaked out as I finally understood what was happening
" You don't look fine” the third girl who had not said a word since I woke up finally spoke out
"What year are we in?” I asked Amber, staring at her through the mirror.
She frowned but opened her mouth to answer my question, “the seven hundreds”
I squeezed the dirty dress on Angela's body, now my body, with my hand. It was the same period that I was born. From Angela's memory I could deduce the pack she was born in, and I remembered that I had heard about it before. It was just like my pack, evil and filled with wickedness.
From Angela's memory I could see how she suffered especially in the hands of the evil princess Marie that she was serving and how she died from trying to use her fragile and weak body to block a heavy blow from landing upon the princess
The both of us have been wronged in one way or the other by our pack members without even doing anything wrong. We both deserve a second chance at life, but I was the only one who was given the chance. I would take revenge, one way or the other, on the people that have wronged us.
I snapped out of my thoughts when the door of the room was thrown open with a heavy force. All four of us turned to the door.
A girl in a white gown like Amber and Piper, including the third girl whose name I did not yet know, was standing at the door. “The housekeeper is waiting to address all the maids. You will be punished if she gets there before you” the girl rushed out after saying her piece.
Piper and the other girl rushed out, and I knew immediately that the housekeeper must be strict
"We need to go now Angela, we can't delay anymore, if not, we will be punished. You are still weak, you won't be able to take any punishment” Amber eyes held anxiousness.
" Alright let's go”
I walked out with her support and my plan for revenge brewing in my mind. I was now very beautiful though weak, I'll do anything and everything to make them pay for everything they have done to me.
Paul, Anna, Greater moon pack, wait for me.
Home, that's what the woman had called this place and it immediately felt like home to Angela when she stepped out a week later with the woman. The woman refused to allow her to step out of the room until she and her wolf were fully healed and the bandage was removed from her head. Angela stood in the middle of the street the woman led her to with her mouth dropped open in shock at the spectacle before her. Everyone in this place looked like they were straight out of a spirit realm; they all in one way or the other looked like the woman. White, gold, copper, blonde, and silver hair with different shades of bright eyes. “Does everyone in this place look like this?” Angela could not help but voice out this question in awe.The woman whose name Angela now knew to be Brunhilda slowly turned her face to look at Angela with a tranquil smile, “Everyone looks like we do.”At Brunhilda’s words, Angela turned to face her, “Like we do? How?”The smile with Brunhilda's face widened, “Look aroun
Angela expected to wake up in so many places —- the cold floor of a dungeon, tied up to a chair in a dark building and so on — but where she woke up was in a beautiful room and on a bed. How? Angela was lying on her back and she could feel a dull ache at the back of her head; her head was wrapped up because of the blow she took. She did not know how long she's been out or whose room she was in now.Whether she was saved from that woman and the men that came for her by Lothar's men or if the woman succeeded in taking her away.Only thing she knew was that she was alive and still in one piece and even if her head felt like it weighed a ton, it was another day to be grateful that she was still in the land of the living. She tried to sit up on the bed, it was supposed to be a chore and Angela was very ready to struggle but soft and warm hands reached out to help her up. She had not noticed that she was not alone in the room; there's a woman sitting on a chair beside the bed. The person
What did she want? Who sent her? Questions, but who would answer them? Since there was nowhere for her to run into and it was already too late as the woman had found her already, Angela decided to put on a false bravado and face the woman head on.Angela nearly groaned and dropped to the ground in surrender when another shadow appeared behind her and she realized that the woman was not alone. She has been so focused on the masked women she did not hear or notice the other person…. No, it was more than one person because other shadows appeared. They were coming from every angle and now, she was in the middle.“Who are you people?" Angela finally asked. She offered a little thanks to the moon goddess when her voice came out firm and did not give away her fear.“Hmm, a brave one. I see"It was the masked woman that replied. It felt like she was praising Angela for her boldness but her tone was insulting and Angela could see the woman's blue eyes looking at her from head to toe.Blue eye
In just a few weeks of her training with Camelot, Angela could feel that she was getting stronger and it made her glad. She could now hold her own for a few minutes. Though she had not been able to land any blows on Camelot during their practice, she knew that it was only a matter of time. Camelot was a big man and he was fast but she was faster and more nimble because she was smaller and it has always been her strength back when she was Marylee.Camelot was standing over her like her lord as he glared at her on the floor with that dark scowl of his on his face, “Aren't you getting up? We just started and you are giving up already?" "Please” Angela groaned as she rolled on to her back. She knew when to give up and accept defeat and the time is now. “You are too brutal"“The same complaint over and over again. No one is stopping you from giving up and putting an end to your training".“Never" Angela snapped she pushed herself into a sitting position to glare back at him, “No way am I
“I want to learn how to fight," Angela said when she was finally able to corner the guard whose name she now knew to be Camelot. She held his cold gaze as he looked at her from head to toe but she couldn't fathom the emotion in his eyes. He turned to move away and she was quick to understand that he was not taking what she just said seriously. Angela rushed to stand in front of him to block his path; she stretched out her hands when he tried to sidestep her, and because the corridor where she cornered him was not spacious, she was able to stop him from leaving.“I'm really serious. I want to learn how to fight." She held his gaze just to show how serious she truly was. Seeing that he was not trying to walk around her to leave but now had a contemplative look in his eyes, she dropped her outstretched hands. Camelot took a step back from her, "Why do you want to leave how to fight all of a sudden?” He wanted to know because what woman in her right senses would want to learn how to fi
What did he mean when he said ‘you will be the lady of this place and will live here’?Oh yes, she really did become the lady of the place because as soon as he was done saying it, over forty young girls and ten older women filtered into the room in an orderly manner and bowed to her in greetings before lifting their head to stare at her as if waiting for her orders. She turned to look at the man whose name she did not yet know in confusion, “Who are they?" She asked. “They are the women that will serve you during your time here" he answered her with a nonchalant expression. The only thing she latched onto was the fact that he said ‘during your time here’ “How long do you think I will remain here for?" Her expression betrayed her anxiousness as she held her breath waiting for his answer which delayed in coming.“Until the alpha wants you to come out. Now, address your ladies in waiting” he walked away after that.Angela kept her eyes on his broad back as he walked out of the place
