Chapter 1 Firs lover VS Wife

Alisha’s POV

In the tranquil garden, under the gentle rays of the morning sun, I was accompanied by Mireya, one of our loyal Omega maids. Together, we carefully tended to the blooming roses, their vibrant colors a testament to the love and care they received. Each day, I would select the most resplendent of these blossoms and send it to my beloved husband, Archie, as a silent token of my affection.

But on this serene day, the tranquility of the garden was pierced by the distant voices of several she-wolves, their words carrying on the breeze.

"Is this the Alpha's mansion? It's so grand and magnificent! I envy Luna for dwelling in such house!"

"Come now, Alisha hardly deserves to be the Luna of the Golden Crest. She is a disable without a wolf, unable to partake in our training or battles. She's essentially useless."

"But the Alpha Archie chose her as his Luna, so he must have his reasons. If he hears you maligning her, you'll surely face his wrath."

"Hmph, I highly doubt that. Golden Crest is the mightiest pack in the East. Meanwhile, Alisha comes from a third-rate pack, the Black Furies. If it weren't for Alpha's marriage to her, the Black Furies would have likely been absorbed by neighboring packs long ago. Her position as Alpha's wife is solely due to the orders of the former Luna, Stephenie. Alpha himself hardly cared for her."

"Indeed, they've been married for so long, and she hasn't even borne a child. I've heard whispers that Alpha's mother, Stephenie, is seeking a new she-wolf to replace her."

"Wow, does that mean there's a chance for me to become Alpha's wife?"

"Hahaha, my odds are better than yours, especially with my potent Gift power."

Unbeknownst to them, the subject of their discussion was concealed among the fragrant flower bushes, listening in on their unbridled criticisms. Mireya, my loyal companion, looked at me with empathy, seemingly prepare to intervene and put an end to this damn conversation.

I gently shook my head. I had grown accustomed to such disparaging remarks. True, I possessed flaws — I lacked a wolf companion and a powerful Gift. Given my origins, marrying Archie was a stroke of incredible fortune. I didn't want to get into conflicts with pack members over a few words.

Nonetheless, their harsh comments had stirred unwelcome memories. After entrusting the rose to Mireya for delivery to Archie's study, I decided to take a drive in the hopes of clearing my mind and avoiding these annoying and jealous discussions.

But unfortunately, as I had just reached the edge of the forest, I found that the usually quiet woods were suddenly filled with noise, as if many people had gathered inside. This place was far from the Golden Crest and was rarely visited, serving as my secret hideaway. However, today, a large number of strangers had suddenly appeared.

An unsettling feeling coursed through me, compelling me to retreat swiftly. However, just as I prepared to leave, a resounding outcry echoed from the heart of the forest, "We must assert our rights! We are not like the rogues dwelling in the Dark Forest. We deserve equitable treatment like normal werewolf! Let us unite and demand justice from the Golden Crest!"

"Absolutely not! Provoking the Golden Crest would spell disaster for us!"

"Get lost, you coward! You hold no authority over me!"

Now, I realized that this was a gathering of rogues, united in their determination to secure their place. In the world of werewolves, rogues often led harsh lives, and Archie, as the Alpha of the Golden Crest, had historically adopted a stern stance against them, except for a certain special woman. I understood that I needed to leave this place promptly.

But before I could start my car, there was a sudden, terrifying explosion, followed by a series of wolf howls. The explosion's shockwave affected both me and my car, sending us flying. My vision went dark, and a continuous ringing in my ears assaulted me. I felt blood running down my forehead, covering my face. I couldn't even open my eyes, and I knew that if this continued, I was in serious trouble.

In this critical moment, I summoned all the strength in my body and activated my Gift to heal my wounds. Unfortunately, because I didn't have a wolf, the ability of my Gift was limited. I could only manage minor wounds and couldn't do much for more serious injuries.

A bone-chilling coldness seeped over me, and every breath was a struggle. Archie, where are you? I silently implored, my thoughts a prayer in the midst of peril. Please come and save me!

I couldn't be sure how much time had passed, but just as I felt myself slipping into unconsciousness, a stranger hurried over to my side. He examined my condition and carefully applied some herbs to my wounds.

"Your condition is really bad, and I can't stay here for long. Do you have someone I can contact for you?"

I took a deep breath and gestured towards my phone, which was lying not far away on the ground. "I'm not sure if my phone still works, but if it does, please contact my husband, Archie. He is the first in the contacts list."

The stranger picked up my phone and managed to dial Archie's number. Thankfully, the phone still functioned. Since I didn't have a wolf, I couldn't use the pack's mindlink, so my only way to contact Archie was through my phone.

After what felt like an eternity, someone answered the call, but instead of Archie, I heard a woman's voice on the other end. "Sorry, Alisha, Archie is in the shower right now. You can tell me what you want."

Her refined accent irritated me, and I was filled with numbness hearing that familiar yet disgusting tone-Erma Cosey.

"Why... why are you answering Archie's phone? And why is he showering in your room?" I stammered, my voice trembling, my grip on the phone so tight it drew blood.

"Today is my birthday, so Archie is celebrating with me. As for why he's taking a shower, you're not a child. Do I need to explain why a man might take a shower at night in another woman's house?"

Erma's response left me dumbfounded. It was clear that Archie had an affair with Erma! I had heard rumors that she was his former lover. But since I had married Archie, I had always believed that he was faithful to our marriage!

Erma continued, "Alisha, Archie loves me, not you. I can steal him away from you on your anniversary and have him with me on my birthday. No matter when I need him, he will abandon you to accompany me. As a disabled she-wolf, even though you became Luna through your shameful tricks, I am his true love! You will never have Archie's love and respect!"

Now I understood why Archie had never spent our wedding anniversary with me. He always claimed he had pack business to attend to. I couldn't believe he was spending that time with Erma!

I tried my best to respond calmly, though my heart was in pieces. "Let me speak to Archie."

" You're not giving up, are you? Fine, I'll let you hear his voice."

After a pause, I heard the sound of running water, and then Erma called out to Archie, "Archie, it's Alisha on the phone."

The water stopped, and Archie's voice followed, "Tell her I'm busy and don't have time."

It was indeed Archie's voice, and when I heard it, my heart shattered into a million pieces. Tears streamed down my face.

I broke into hysterical sobs of grief and shame. How could Archie treat me like this? I knew I wasn't a perfect wife for him. As the Alpha of the Golden Crest, the most powerful pack in the region, Archie should have married a strong and capable she-wolf. Instead, he married me, a disabled werewolf who didn't even have a wolf.

I knew I wasn't Archie's fated mate. Archie had been forced to marry me by his grandmother, the former Luna of the Golden Crest.

I still had fallen in love with him at first sight and had chosen to marry him despite all the problems. I had hoped that, over time, I could get his love. But now, it seemed I was wrong. Erma had proven to be his true mate, his one and only. No matter what I did, I could never surpass Erma.

The stranger who had overheard my conversation with Erma and witnessed my current state of misery asked, "Is there anyone else who can help you?" I sensed the sympathy in his voice.

Betrayed by my own husband, I had no choice but to dial Mireya's number and ask her to come to my aid. I didn't know how I had managed to return to the Golden Crest. I felt dazed, as if I had been trapped in a terrible nightmare.

Mireya wanted to call the pack's witch doctor to tend to my wounds, but I declined. Instead, I slowly began using my Gift to heal myself, piece by piece. At that moment, I needed the physical pain to mask the anguish that was tearing me apart inside. Mireya seemed to think my distress was due to the cruel words of the she-wolves in the garden. She attempted to comfort me, saying, "Luna, you will have a child. Don't worry now."

I forced a bitter smile at Mireya's words. How could I give birth to a child on my own? Archie had no interest in being intimate with me. In the two years we'd been married, he had only slept with me for few times, and afterward, he insisted that I take birth control pills.

I thanked Mireya and retreated back to my bedroom, drowning in despair. I didn't want anyone to witness the wreckage of my marriage, which brought me nothing but shame and humiliation.

Mireya's words, however, sparked a thought. What if I had a child? Would that change Archie's feelings for me with our baby? Even if he still didn't love me, at least I could secure an heir for the Golden Crest. Now that love was out of reach, I could still have power and protect my family in the Black Furies.

I locked myself in the bedroom for an entire day and night without eating anything, and Archie didn't return. The only good thing was that my Gift cured the pains on my skin, which made me look like a normal person instead of a patient, although my body was still hurt. When the first rays of morning sunlight pierced through the window, I finally heard the sound of the bedroom door opening.

My husband had returned after spending the entire night with another woman. Faced with the ruins of my marriage, where should I go from now?
