1. It All Started With A Rejection

I held the pregnancy results in my hands as I approached Theodore's room.

I could still remember the Doctor's words clearly;

"Congratulations, Miss Ray. You are pregnant with your first child!"

Holding the pregnancy reports, I smiled happily. I couldn't wait for Theodore— My Mate to see the reports.

I could already imagine the smile that would be coming from his face when I tell him I'm pregnant. And also the excitement he would receive when he sees the pregnancy test results.

He would be excited, jump and hug me even...

Last month on my 18th birthday, I discovered that Theodore is my mate..

We've long been in a relationship before that very day that the moon goddess chose to bless us as MATES.

And today?

Today is the day I will be mated to Theodore. Once he claims me as his mate, he will automatically become the Alpha of our Pack. Well, the big thing is that Everyone in this Pack was aware that Theodore is my boyfriend but they never knew that he is my mate as well.

Not just this, but we will also be announcing to everyone in the Pack that we are expecting our first child.

As I approached Theodore's room, I clung to the pregnancy test with a smile.

Of course, I can't wait to tell him that I am carrying his child...his heir and his first fruit.

This was what I was thinking in my heart when I started hearing faint noises from the background.... something like moaning or was it the sound of skin slapping?

I halted at first to process what I just heard.

Getting closer to the door, the sounds became louder and clearer.

“Oh yes, baby! I love it… continue!” the lady moaned.

My heart escaped.

Why was I hearing that sound and why was it coming from his room....

NO, NO!

I forced the negative thought out of my head.

It can't be true. it just can't be....

"Shit...baby! I think I'm gonna cum!" A loud deep masculine voice echoed quickly. "I'm getting close, bby. Yes baby! Fuck baby...."

I shook my head.

That sound?! Why was it coming from... Why was it coming from Theodore's room?

I continued shaking my head as I approached the door.

Finally reaching it, I held the doorknob and the sound became even clearer.

I clung to my last hope. Praying I'm wrong.

Praying I was just hearing things, or maybe I'm hallucinating....I just prayed my conscience was lying to me until I opened the door— and BOOM—I was right!

Right on that bed were two naked people, both wrapped around and each other as the man pounded the woman's ass hard!

Not just another man but that was Theodore, fucking another woman...right on the bed we shared as A COUPLE!

With so much anger tearing through my flesh, I yelled out angrily.

“Theodore!”

By the sound of my voice, Theodore quickly jumped off the woman's body.

It was then I noticed the young woman he was fucking. She wasn't just ordinary, she was Lola, my step sister.

"What the heck is going on here? Are you cheating on me with another woman?!"

Theodore's face was lit with shock the instant he saw me. He quickly PULLED his already erecting dick into his underwear while Lola hurriedly covered her chest with the bedsheet.

“What are you doing here, Sai? Did you forget how to knock before entering, or have you lost your manners?” Theodore asked, his face etched with no sign of remorse.

I was speechless. Was this really Theodore speaking?

The same man picked from the streets? The same man I brought into this family and forced them to accept? And the very person i fed, clothed and financed all because I loved him.

This same man was here cheating on me with my step sister and even had the audacity to ask me why I didn't knock before stepping.

I scoffed angrily, slipping the pregnancy results into my bag as I spoke out. "Did you just ask me that question?!" I directed to Theodore.

“How can you ask me that kind of question, Theodore? I just caught you cheating on me with my sister, and instead of being remorseful, you're scolding me for not knocking? Don't you have any bit of humanity left in you?"

Then I turned to Lola in anger.

“And as for you! You are really good at stealing what doesn’t belong to you, don’t you? Just like your mother, you’re trying to take my mate away? Are you really that shameless, huh?”

Lola remained quiet. She didn't say any word.

What does she have to say when over the years, she had done nothing but stealing the things that brought me joy.

Since childhood, she would turn my friends against me, take my toys, claim everything Father bought for me.

And now she’s sleeping with my boyfriend? My mate?

“Theodore doesn’t love you, Sai!” Lola hissed, finally dropping the act.

That was her real self, her rude, unmasked tone.

“He only accepted you as his girlfriend because he wanted to become the Alpha of our pack. Come on, Theodore, tell her the truth. Tell her this was all pretend, and you never really loved her,” she said as she traced a finger along Theodore’s bare chest.

I stared at him, waiting. Waiting to hear the lie.

And finally, he dropped the lie.

“Lola’s right, Sai,” he said at last. “She’s the one I love NOT YOU!" .

He started walking close to me as he continued. "AND Whether I mate you or not, I’ll still become Alpha. Besides, you don’t even have a wolf, but Lola does. You’re weak, and she’s strong. She’s a better Luna than you’ll ever be.”

My heart shattered into a thousand pieces. Tears spilled from my eyes as I heard those cruel words from him.

Instinctively, I held my stomach, as the doctor’s voice echoed in my mind. “You are pregnant, Miss Sai. It’s a baby girl…”

Two hours ago, I was only returning from the hospital where I had gone for my check up. I had been feeling dizzy lately so I went for a check up.

It was there the Doctor told me that I was pregnant with a baby girl.

I had planned to tell Theo after our mating ceremony. Even had the intention of sharing this news with him as a wedding gift.

But now he had Lola by his side. How am I supposed to tell this to him?

“It’s always been a joke, Sai!" Theodore's voice cut into my words. "I only wanted the Alpha title by mating you. But Lola promised to make me her Alpha, so I don’t need to pretend anymore. It’s time to end this…”

“What do you mean?” I asked, sniffing through the tears.

Without responding to my inquiry, Theodore grabbed my hand tightly, and slammed my back on the wall.

He stared into my eyes and declared coldly.

“I, Theodore Kaiser, Future Alpha of Red Moon pack, reject you, Sai Ray, as my mate!”
