Chapter 28: She is mine

The villagers let out a scream when they saw a woman lifeless on the ground with her soul sucked out of her, her eyes carved out of her eye socket, and the flies wallowing in the crook of her eye.

It was already morning in Eldoria. A woman had come to deliver wood to the woman, leaving her alone here with her baby. However, just before she could go into the room, the woman's body was found on the ground. The woman, on seeing the corpse, let out a scream, and the villagers rushed out to see what was wrong.

“I saw her last night."

“She was the only one living with her husband. I heard she had no husband."

“Who could have done that?"

“Are we not safe again in the town?"

Murmurs and a series of whispers filled the ground, and the police bureau came to take the woman's corpse off the ground.

“Did anyone see her child?" One of the policemen asked the villagers, and they all shook their heads in denial that they had not seen the baby.

“Did you think the culprit took the child too?" An
