Timothy's POV

Kael won't shut up.

My wolf has been pacing and snarling in my mind all day, ever since that incident with Penelope in the tunnel. He keeps throwing images at me her stricken face, the way she stumbled when she ran. Something that makes every instinct I possess stand at attention.

"You're distracted," Dad observes from behind his massive oak desk. The Alpha's office overlooks our territory like a throne room, all dark wood."Madison's father called. He's concerned about your commitment to their arrangement."

I force myself to focus on his words instead of Kael's increasingly agitated whining. "What arrangement?"

"Don't play stupid, Timothy." His eyes narrow dangerously. "The mating contract we've been negotiating. Madison Sawyer is perfect Alpha Luna material strong bloodline, political connections, proper breeding."

The words feel strange to my ears, what was I expecting to just fuck and pass. Madison family had strong political connections in the werewolf pack and my dad saw that as an opportunity to strengthen his status. I never had a say in the Matter so I nod anyway. This is what's has always been expected.

"The ceremony is tomorrow night," Dad continues. "I want you to formally announce your intention to court her. Make it clear to the pack that you're settling down."

Tell him no, Kael snarls. Tell him we won't be caged.

But I can't. This is duty, and duty comes before everything else. Even before whatever strange pull I felt toward a certain Omega girl with devastating eyes.

"Of course," I hear myself saying. "Whatever the pack needs."

Dad's smile is sharp with approval. "Good boy. I've arranged for the announcement to coincide with your hockey victory celebration. Killing two birds with one stone."

The meeting continues, but I'm only half-listening. My mind keeps drifting to physics class, to the way Penelope looked when Professor Williams talked about incompatible particles. She'd gone pale as moonlight, clutching her desk like it was the only thing keeping her upright.

Why do I care? She's nobody a bottom-tier Omega from a disgraced family who clearly has some kind of unhealthy fixation on me. The video Madison posted proves it. Penelope was literally stalking me, watching me through cracks in the doors like some kind of obsessed fan.

So why does Kael keep insisting something's wrong. "Timothy!" Dad's sharp bark jerks me back to the present. "I asked you a question."

"Sorry," I straighten in my chair. "What was it?"

"I said, what are you planning to do about the Omega situation?"

My blood goes cold. "What Omega situation?"

Dad's expression darkens. "Don't pretend you haven't seen that video, son. The whole pack is talking about it. Some pathetic Omega girl has been stalking you, and now it's public knowledge. It's quite embarrassing."

"She wasn't stalking me," I said quickly, then cursed myself for defending her. "She just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time."

"What happened?" Dad laughs, but there's no humor in it. "Timothy, she's been watching you for months. Multiple pack members have reported seeing her lurking around your usual haunts. This isn't a coincidence—it's an obsession."

The news hits me. Months? Multiple sightings? Why didn't anyone tell me before now?

Because you wouldn't have cared before, Kael whispers. But now.

"What do you want me to do about it?" I ask carefully.

"Handle it," Dad replies. "Publicly. Make it clear that this behavior is unacceptable, that there are consequences for Omegas who forget their place. The pack needs to see that the Blackthorn family doesn't tolerate disrespect."

My stomach churns. "You want me to humiliate her?"

"I want you to remind everyone where the lines are drawn." Dad leans forward."You're going to be Alpha someday, Timothy. How you handle challenges to your authority even pathetic ones sets the tone for your entire reign."

The weight of expectation settles on my shoulders like a familiar burden. This is what being an Alpha heir means crushing anyone who threatens the hierarchy, even scared Omega girls with hopeless crushes.

"I'll take care of it," I promise, hating how easily the words come.

Dad nods approvingly. "Good. Do it tomorrow night, after the ceremony. Make sure the whole pack witnesses it. Let them see what happens when someone reaches too high."

I leave his office feeling sick to my stomach. The hallways of our mansion feel like a mausoleum—all marble and ancestral portraits and the suffocating weight of legacy. Every Blackthorn Alpha stares down from their frames, reminding me of the blood that runs in my veins and the duties it demands.

My phone buzzes with texts from teammates celebrating last night's championship win, but I can't summon any excitement. The victory feels hollow when I know what's coming tomorrow.

In my room, I try to focus on game film, but the footage blurs as Kael continues his mental assault.

She's not what they think, he insists. There's something special about her. She is important.

"She's an Omega," I mutter aloud. "A nobody from a disgraced family who's been stalking me for months."

Look deeper.

"I've looked enough." I slam my laptop shut harder than necessary. "This conversation is over."

But Kael refuses to back down. Throughout the evening, he keeps flooding my senses with memories I didn't know I'd stored Penelope helping a younger student with homework in the library, Penelope volunteering at the pack's charity drive despite having nothing to give, Penelope standing up to a group of bullies picking on a smaller Omega.

Small moments. Glimpses of character that paint a picture completely different from the desperate stalker in Madison's video.

By midnight, I'm pacing my room like a caged animal. Through my window, Moonlight Lake gleams in the distance the place where tomorrow night I would complete my mission.

  • Rejected By My Hockey Alpha   Chapter 74 - Facing the Music

Timothy's POVThe family dinner is a disaster from the moment I walk through the door. Dad's still seething about the game, Mom's trying to keep the peace, and the Wintermoon delegation looks like they're reconsidering the entire alliance.Sophia sits across from me, her hair perfectly styled despite the late hour. She's beautiful in that cold, untouchable way that seems to be required for Alpha daughters. Everything about her screams perfection, from her designer dress to her flawless makeup. She also looks like she'd rather be anywhere else."Timothy," her father, Alpha Viktor Wintermoon, sets down his wine glass with deliberate intensity. "That was quite a performance tonight."The words could mean anything, but his tone makes it clear they don't mean anything good. Viktor is a massive man, even by wolf standards, with prematurely white hair and scars that tell stories about pack wars I've only heard whispers about."Every team has bad nights," I reply carefully. "Bloodfang played

  • Rejected By My Hockey Alpha   Chapter 73 - The Hat Trick

Penelope's POVThe post-game interview room is packed. Cameras flash as reporters shout questions, their voices blending into excited chaos. I've never been in here before - Omega players don't usually get this kind of attention."Penelope, talk us through that first goal. Did you expect to score that quickly?"I lean forward toward the microphone, still buzzing with adrenaline. My hair is damp with sweat, pulled back in a messy ponytail that probably looks terrible on camera."I studied their faceoff tendencies," I say simply, keeping my voice steady despite the cameras flashing in my face. "Timothy favors his backhand in defensive situations. I was ready for it.""You called their captain by his first name. Is there history there?" A reporter in the front row asks, leaning forward with interest as if looking for gossip to display to the tabloids.Almost everyone has seen the videos of Timothy rejecting me and me watching him, so it's a stupid question to be asked. But I know these r

  • Rejected By My Hockey Alpha   Chapter 72 - Unraveling on Ice

Timothy's POVThe locker room is a tomb. Nobody's talking, nobody's even moving much. We just sit in our gear, staring at the floor like it might open up and swallow us whole.Three to nothing. Shut out once again at our home ice. In front of everyone."Well?" Dad's voice cuts through the silence. He's standing in the doorway, his face purple with rage. "Anyone want to explain to me how we just got embarrassed by a pack of nobodies?"The team flinches. Even Coach looks nervous, which is saying something because Coach once played through a separated shoulder and two cracked ribs."Sir, they played a good game," Ethan speaks up, his voice careful and respectful. "Sometimes the bounces don't go your way.""Bounces?" Dad steps into the room, and everyone shrinks back. "Bounces don't explain three goals. Bounces don't explain getting outplayed for sixty minutes by a girl who shouldn't even be on the ice. Once again she won you bunches of idiots."He's not wrong. It wasn't bounces or luck o

  • Rejected By My Hockey Alpha   Chapter 71 - Hitting My Stride

Penelope's POVThe third period starts and I can feel the shift in energy. Frostfang is pressing harder now, desperate to get back in the game. But desperation makes you sloppy, and I've been waiting for sloppy all night."Stay patient," I called to my linemates as we set up in the defensive zone. "Let them come to us."Timothy wins the faceoff but immediately loses the puck to Zoe's stick check. She fires it up ice to me, and suddenly I'm on a breakaway with nothing but open ice and their goalie between me and a hat trick. The crowd noise fades to nothing. My skates carve perfect lines in the ice as I build speed, the puck dancing on my stick blade like it's tied there with string. The goalie comes out to challenge, trying to cut down the angle.I fake the slap shot, watch him drop to his knees, then shelf it top corner at the glove side. The red light goes on. The horn blares. The small section of Bloodfang fans goes absolutely insane.Hat trick. The moment the red light goes on, Ly

  • Rejected By My Hockey Alpha   Chapter 70 - Outplayed

Timothy's POVI skate back to center ice for the second period, my jaw clenched so tight it might crack. Fifteen seconds. She scored on us in fifteen fucking seconds."Shake it off, Cap." Ethan glides up beside me, his voice steady but I catch the concern in his eyes. "It's one goal."One goal that has the entire arena buzzing with disbelief. One goal that has Dad gripping the railing in his luxury box like he wants to strangle someone. One goal that proves everything I've been trying not to think about for the past six months.Penelope is better than me now.The puck drops and I win it clean this time, sending it back to our defense. But when I look up ice, she's already reading the play, cutting off passing lanes like she's inside my head."Blackthorn, move your ass!" The coach screams from the bench.I push harder, digging my edges into the ice. The cold air burns my lungs as I chase the play, but Penelope is everywhere. She intercepts our outlet pass, spins away from our defensema

  • Rejected By My Hockey Alpha   Chapter 69- The Game Begins

Penelope's POVThe opening face-off is between Timothy and me—a symbolic confrontation that has the entire arena on its feet. The referee holds the puck above the center ice circle while we stare each other down across the dot."Make it clean." His voice cuts through the crowd noise.I nod, focused entirely on Timothy's body language. He's bigger than me, stronger, but I've learned to use speed and intelligence over brute force. His blue eyes are intense and focused, but there's something else there too. Something that looks like desperation. The puck drops.Timothy tries to win it back to his defenseman, but I've studied his tendencies. I know he favors his backhand in face-offs, so I'm ready when he makes his move. My stick intercepts the puck cleanly, and suddenly I'm racing toward the Frostfang goal with only one defender between me and their goalie. The crowd's roar shifts from excitement to shock. Nobody expected the game's first scoring chance to come fifteen seconds in.I fake
