Aqua's POV.

"You." I gasped, my heart beating as I saw one of the Biker Dragons, the dude who mostly stared at me.

As usual, he wore a helmet and was dressed in black overalls. He walked over to where I was sitting and my heart pounded with each step he took.

What does he want? What was he doing here?

He reached into his jacket pocket, took out three hundred-dollar bills, and dropped them in the little bowl I had in front of me.

My lips parted in him.

Why did he do that? Perhaps he didn't even recognize me and was just being nice by helping a beggar on the street.

"Thank you." I appreciated him as I drew the bowl closer to me. I had to hide these bills before another beggar came to snatch them away from me, when he was gone.

"You, what are you doing here?" He asked and I froze.

His voice was so deep, manly, and even sounded familiar. Like that of......

'Nope.' I thought, shaking my head sideways. I was definitely overthinking at this point.

He would never have the audacity to show up in my presence again, not after what he did to me those years back.

"Do y-you know me?" I asked him instead and he nodded.

My eyes widened slightly as I held my breath.

Could it truly be him? But....

"You are one of the ladies who come to watch us race." He answered and I breathed out a sigh of relief.

It wasn't him but why do I feel a pang of disappointment?

I still could not feel the desire to see him after all these years. I hated him right?

"You mean thousands of ladies." I corrected him and could guess he was grinning underneath the helmet.

"But how come you recognized me? Or would you be able to recognize the others once you see them somewhere too?" I questioned and he chuckled.

"Of course not. You just stood out, I mean you were preg..." He didn't complete his statement as his eyes fell on my flat stomach.

"What happened?" He asked gently, his question resurfacing bad memories.

I shut my eyes tightly, digging my nails into my palm as I tried hard to breathe.

It was going to be fine, I had to move on and pretend that my mate, the one man I trusted more than anything else, didn't murder our child because he tried to kill me.

My eyes were hot with tears as I sniffled, trying to hold back.

I was about to open my eyes when I felt a warm touch on my hand. I shivered especially when he dragged me forward, into a hug.

My jaw dropped as I caught a whiff of his chocolate cologne. He smelled so divine and heavenly that I couldn't resist breathing him in.

But then when I remembered that I was in a complete stranger's arms, I immediately pulled away from him.

"I am dirty." I coughed, refusing to look at him.

"I don't know what happened but I might be able to help you." He began and I stared at him.

Something was off about this guy, but even though I felt like I could trust him.

Was it because he could be him? But I just sniffled his cologne and they do not smell the same.

All of a sudden, I felt the urge to remove the helmet from his face so I could see who was behind the mask.

My hands were moving on their own but I controlled them.

"How?" I asked.

"Yorkville's college." He replied and I narrowed my eyes at him, the name not ringing a bell at first.

How the hell was a school supposed to help me? But wait! Yorkville?

I stifffened, a huge lump forming in my throat and perhaps he had guessed what was on my mind, for he nodded.

"Yes, the same school."

"But it's not easy to get in. It's one of the most prestigious schools in the country and is tightly guarded. A beggar like me can't get in." I was still trying to explain to the biker dude when he suddenly got on top of me, pushing us to the ground.

My eyes popped out as I tried getting him off me.

"What the fuck are you doing?" I panicked.

Was he some sort of rapist? But people were around, he wouldn't try such here.

Just then I heard screams and looked around to see people running. I was confused until I heard a gunshot.

"Come with me." The Biker dude helped me to my feet before grabbing my hand and making us run.

Behind me, I could hear people chasing us so I turned to see a masked guy with his gun pointed at me.

My blood turned cold and I closed my eyes, preparing myself for the hit but it didn't come as the loud bang went off.

I opened my eyes to see the Biker dude Infront of me. He had taken the bullet for me.

I yelped, my palms sweaty as I tried to touch him but he suddenly raised his leg and kicked the guy with a gun on the head.

The gun fell as the guy wobbled then the biker guy punched him hard on the face, blood spluttering everywhere.

I gasped, unable to move as I watched the violence brewing.

"Let's go." The Biker dude finally turned to me and said.

Then I noticed that apart from the masked guy's blood stain on him, he didn't seem to be bleeding or hurt despite taking a gun shot.

Rather he unzipped his jacket, took it off and threw it into the trash can opposite him. His muscles flexed, the t-shirt he had underneath unable to contain his build.

It threatened to rip off his body.

I tried not to gawk as I stared at the tattoos that ran down his hands. A particular one on his arm caught my attention.

It was a dragon spitting fire.

"If we don't leave now, his friends would join us here." The Biker dude gestured towards his bike I didn't even notice was parked by my side.

"Get on."

"Why would I go anywhere with you?" I folded my arm across my chest, suddenly feeling wary of him.

'Who was that gun shooter and why was he aiming at me?' I wondered, having an answer as I stared at this dude in my presence.

It was probably because I was with him, he was a Biker and probably a gangster as well.

"Do you prefer to be killed by your father then?" He questioned and the air around turned suffocating.

Wait! What did he just say?
