Damon pov

We finally arrived home and I rush to see our kids holding them and loving on them. After they go to sleep I walk to the office to see my dad.

"dad, I stand in the doorway a little scared. He looks awful, I'm home",he starts crying and tries to come to me but I run and hold him up. He feels frail.

"I missed you so much son, he sobs hugging me tight, so fucking much",he just cries and I feel tears falling listening to my father break.

"I'm sorry dad I really am I felt so weak being just a human I ran to forget and see if I could live that way",he sniffled sadly.

"I know I got your letters and mom broke I couldn't keep her together. We can visit her if you want",he held on tight. I rubbed his back trying to soothe him.

"I would like that dad". We headed to the mental part of the hospital and got buzzed in my mom was sitting in a wheelchair so frail and tiny. I felt my gut clench.
