Chapter 214— The Alpha's Truth

Damon's POV

I was still reeling.

The entire inside of me was a storm. Sophia's words, guards dragging me away, how she'd looked at me for the last time—hurt, final, strong.

I'd ruined her.

I'd shattered the only one who'd ever looked at me as if I were something greater than just a title.

And now, she was done.

It had been a day since I had returned to the packhouse, and everything seemed. hollow. Even the walls sounded differently. They once echoed the soft laughter of Sophia, the soft warmth of her presence.

Now, they were hollow, haunted with the emptiness I had made.

I stood in my office staring at the hellish chair she used to sit in whenever she'd wait for me to finish work. I hadn't touched it. I couldn't. It was like touching anything she'd touched would shatter the last threads of her.

Asher came in earlier, laying reports I didn't even look at.

Cara had been quiet too. Almost too quiet. No more crying or tantrums. Just this eerie quiet that mad

Chapter 229- Their LunaSophia's POVThe sun felt warm on my body when I stepped outside that afternoon. Not hot at all, but warm. The kind of warmth that made you breathe deeper. The kind of day that whispered softness, even though your heart was still heavy with pieces of pain.I had just had a single meal when one of the omegas gently knocked on my door."Some of the younger girls from the pack have inquired if they can meet with you," she informed me with a small smile. "They said. they want to meet their Luna."I blinked.Their Luna. Those words still lingered oddly. Heavily. Beautifully. Terrifyingly.I didn't know if I was ready to be "Luna" again. I didn't know that I ever had been. But something inside of me—a little soft voice, maybe the same one that had told me to go back—whispered, Go.So I nodded. "Okay," I said quietly. The omega's face lit up, and before I was aware of it, I was walking slowly down the hallway, my hand brushing along the walls of the packhouse that use

Chapter 228- Laughter in the Living RoomSophia's POVI opened my eyes, blinking. The sunlight was soft as it came through the curtains. All was silent. I had no idea what part of the day it was, but for the first time, I wasn't weighed down and frightened. My body still felt tired, but my heart… it felt slightly lighter.I slowly sat up in bed. There was a blanket draped over me, and a pillow next to me, tiny—like someone had slept next to me. When I turned over, I noticed a letter on the nightstand with my name written on it in Damon's hand.Sophia,Just take your time today. If you're up for it, come downstairs whenever you're ready. No rush.—DamonI held the letter close to my body for a short while. No order in it. No remorse. Just gentle words… and worry.Slowly, I got up, washed my face, and put on something warm. I took a deep breath before turning the bedroom door and going out into the hall. I followed the soft hum of voices and laughter down to the floor. The living room w

Chapter 227 - Luna ReturnsSophia's POVI woke up slowly, morning sunlight seeping through the curtains like a soft whisper. For a moment, I didn't know where I was. The bed was warm, the sheets smelled fresh, like pinewood and… him. Damon. My heart skipped unexpectedly. Then I remembered. I was in his pack once more. In the house I once called home with him.But something was strange.Too quiet. Too still.I sat up gradually, rubbing my eyes. My hand instinctively went to my stomach. A soft flutter. The life inside me was still there, growing quietly. It reminded me of why I'd returned, even if part of me was still scared. Then I saw it.There was a folded letter beside me on the pillow. Damon's handwriting. I recognized it at once.My hands trembled slightly as I picked it up and opened it.\tSophia,I did not wish to wake you. You looked peaceful. If you are up to it, come out and join me in the courtyard. No pressure. No expectations.I just want to get it right this time.—Damon

Chapter 226 -The Dawn of Serenity"My ViewpointThe sun crept quietly through the curtains this morning, gently stroking my skin to awaken it for the first time in quite some time. I sat on the bed's edge, my fists tightly balled up in my lap, my heart gently pounding. My door had been knocked on."Come inside," I whispered, my voice hardly being heard.Damon stepped closer, hesitantly, not wanting to frighten me. His weary, kind eyes searched mine for response, but the only response I had to give him was nothing. I was too tired to cry. Too weary to struggle."I… I spoke to the pack doctor," he said quietly. "He is at the pack house. I am asking too much, I understand, but… would you permit me to bring you to see him?"I didn't react at once. My head spun between fear and confusion. And yet. and then my hand reached my stomach. The life inside of me needed attention. Needed to be protected.I gazed upward. "Okay," I answered.Damon's gaze softened. "ReallyI nodded only once. Chapter 225 -Don't Rush Me"Sophia's perspectiveI didn't notice time passing, my back against the wall and my puffy eyes filling up with tears. My whole being seemed to break apart and reconstitute itself, to break apart again.I had heard the door creak open, the footsteps hesitate—then move cautiously closer. I did not even lift my head. I did not wish to see anybody. My heart was weary. My body was weary. And then, the feeling of having the blanket wrapped around my shoulders. Warm, comforting, and smelling of home. but not my home.It had his scent.DamonI stiffened, but did not push him back."I've brought you tea," his voice low and gentle, as if he feared he'd break something inside of me with his words. "Just herbal… the doctor said it would help with the nausea."I had not uttered anything. My hands remained in my lap, fists. I sensed the cup being pushed against my hand. He did not press it, but rather waited for me to take it myself. And I had. Because since morning, my s

I could still hear her voice in my mind."He came… Damon came. He was at the gate. He begged to see you."I didn't know what to feel.Angry? Hurt? Relieved? No. All I felt was… exhausted.Exhausted in a way sleep could not heal.I slowly got up and sat on the far end of my bed, the very same bed I cried myself to sleep in night after night since leaving him.He came.He came for me.But it was too late… wasn't it?I wrapped my arms around me, trying to protect the tiny life that was forming inside me. My child. Our child. My heart ached. I wanted to despise him. I tried to. But when I was told that he had been turned down… knowing he came back. it stung more than I expected. What if he really changed? What if he meant it this time?I couldn't think.I woke up dizzy the next morning. My legs felt jelly-like when I got up. I gr
