SIERRA POV

I blinked awake slowly, my body still sore and sensitive. Isaak was already up.

He sat near the small wooden table sharpening a blade. His back was straight. He looked calm and focused, but his jaw was locked tight like he was fighting thoughts.

When he noticed I was awake, his eyes softened.

“Morning.”

“Morning,” I muttered.

Silence settled between us, fragments of last night flashing through my mind.

His hands, my breath, my body, desperate and burning.

Heat crept up my neck instantly. I looked away, pretending to stretch like it was the morning after a normal night.

Isaak watched me with that unreadable expression he used when he was thinking too much.

“You feeling better?” he finally asked.

“Much.” I pulled the blanket closer. “The worst part of my heat passed.”

He nodded once. “Good.”

That was it. No teasing. No comments about how I clawed at him. No joke about my heat or the way I trembled. He was giving me space.

It was strange and unfairly kind. It annoyed me more t

  • Rejected By The Alpha, Crowned The Rogue Queen    Chapter 49 – Echoes of the Heart

SIERRA'S POV Our first meeting took place two hours later.I had spent most of that time convincing myself this was just another role, nothing more. If I repeated it enough, maybe my heart would listen.Isaak was already seated when I entered the small room. There were no guards or councilors. Just him, standing at the table with his sleeves rolled to his elbows, studying a map like it had personally offended him.The sight of him still knocked the air from my lungs. Sharp silver eyes with no haze left in them like the day he woke up. His shoulders filled the room, muscle pulling against fabric like his body had healed faster than anyone expected. Dark stubble lined his jaw. He looked powerful and worn down all at once.“You’re late,” he said without looking up.“Well… yes,” I replied. “You don't honestly think my life revolves around just this pack?”He glanced up then, his gaze holding me.It was not the look of a man greeting someone he trusted. It was measured, shut tight behind

  • Rejected By The Alpha, Crowned The Rogue Queen    Chapter 48 – The Advisor’s Role

SIERRA’S POVThe next morning, I was summoned before sunrise.I had barely slept, instead spending most of the night staring at the ceiling, listening to the steady breathing of my children and wondering how many more times my heart could fracture before it simply stopped hurting altogether.I had just finished braiding Nyx’s hair when the knocks came, three sharp raps against the door. I knew it was the council even before they announced themselves because of how abrasive it was. They were always abrasive, always taking, and expecting compliance in return.I got to my feet and grabbed a burgundy coat from the closet, dealing it over my shoulder. My movements felt automatic. This was not my first summons, and it would not be my last.“I’ll be back before breakfast,” I said leaning down to kiss the crown of her head and then Zephyr's. “You two stay together.”Nyx nodded, far too serious for a child her age and Zephyr continued to play with his wooden sword. I smiled at them, a fond smi

  • Rejected By The Alpha, Crowned The Rogue Queen    Chapter 47 – A Stranger’s Eyes

SIERRA’S POVI opened my mouth, but nothing came out.The word sat on my tongue. His name. The truth. Everything I had held together for weeks cracked at once, and my body refused to choose which piece to let fall first.Nyx made a small sound beside me, and Zephyr shifted closer to the bed, his small fingers curling into the blanket. They felt it too. The tension. The wrongness. Children always did. They had spent days whispering about when Father would wake, what he would say, whether he would smile at them the way he used to. I had told them he would be tired. That he might need time.I had not prepared them for this.Suddenly, the doors burst open behind me before I could decide whether to speak. Councilmen rushing in, voices overlapping, boots loud against stone. Only then did I realize one of the guards was missing. He must've been the one that sounded that Isaak was awake.“Send for the healer,” one of them barked. “Now.”The room filled too fast. Too many bodies. Too many eyes

  • Rejected By The Alpha, Crowned The Rogue Queen    Chapter 46 – The Cursed Sleep

SIERRA’S POVThe healers said the blade missed his heart by less than an inch, like that was supposed to comfort me, except Isaak has been laying unmoving on the bed for weeks now.His chest rose and fell in shallow breaths beneath layers of clean bandages. The cursed wound spread out in dark lines like webs across his chest, a sickly black that refused to fade no matter what they tried. I had not left his side in the weeks since his injury, simply sitting in the chair beside his bed with his hand in mine.Nyx and Zephyr slept on a pallet in another room, watched over by two trusted guards. Zephyr had not wanted to let go of my shirt for hours after we returned from the dungeons. He only let me put him down when exhaustion finally claimed him. Nyx had cried herself to sleep with her face buried in my cloak, but they were safe now and Isaak was alive. That was supposed to be enough, yet it wasn't.A soft knock came at the door, but I ignored it, not in the mood for anyone. The knock c

SIERRA’S POV“Zephyr,” I whispered. His head tilted at the sound of my voice and for a moment, hope surged in my chest. Then he smiled, but it was not my Zephyr's smile.I snarled and took a step forward, claws itching to tear Rowan apart.Isaak shifted beside me, a low dangerous growl vibrating through his chest. “Give him back.”Rowan’s eyes flicked to Isaak with mocking interest. “Alpha Isaak. Still chasing what you rejected, I see.”“I said,” Isaak growled, “give him back.”Around us, the fighting slowed as wolves turned to watch, warriors of all regions bristling at what was happening.Rowan raised his voice. “Witness the blessing of the dark god. The Moonborn child has been chosen.”I shifted mid-stride and lunged at Rowan. He reacted instantly, leaping back as two massive wolves slammed into my side, tackling me out of the air. We rolled across the blood-soaked ground. Pain exploded through my ribs, but rage drowned it out.Isaak tore into them without thought. One went down wi

  • Rejected By The Alpha, Crowned The Rogue Queen    Chapter 44 – The Moonborn Army

SIERRA’S POVAs I rode across the border into Ithacus, I had expected guards or scouts or maybe even resistance, but instead, the land felt strangely quiet.Isaak rode beside me, his wolf restless beneath his skin. He kept looking around as if waiting for trouble. I could feel the tension rolling off him.We crested a hill overlooking the heart of Ithacus territory. The village lights shimmered against the cold landscape. Smoke curled up from chimneys. People moved about, unaware that war was about to touch their lives.I swallowed and urged my horse forward. As soon as we crossed the main path, voices rose.“Lady Aris has returned.”The sound swelled fast, louder and louder, spreading through the village like wildfire. Doors opened, feet rushing to gather as we rode past. By the time we reached the hall, what felt like the entire pack stood waiting and at the front was Xenox. He ran toward us, breath fogging in the cold.“Lady Aris,” he gasped, relief and emotion twisting through his
