Chapter Seven : The Challenge

Logan’s POV

I sat alone in my chamber, not moving. My hands were locked tightly around the arms of the chair as if letting go would make everything collapse.

My warriors were talking, everyone around here was talking, but honestly, what was going on with me was more than listening to their voices 

Confident voices.“Alpha will win again,” one of them said.

“He already proved himself before,” another added. “Kael  is only a big talker and  nothing compared to him.”

Their words were meant to encourage me, but honestly they didn’t reach me, because I knew the truth and I knew what's going on c

I had not truly won that fight, Nina did, Nina knew what happened and she only knew what she gave me to be able to win.

She had given me her power in secret, without anyone knowing, without even me fully understanding what it would cost her, without thinking about herself, she only cared about me . 

At that time, I only saw victory, I saw people cheering me up but I didn't understand

Now I understand the price.

The Head Elder had returned, and everything changed, he was not satisfied. He was not satisfied with the last result. He had ordered a rematch. This time, he would be there to witness everything himself, to see because he knew deep down, Kael can not lose, the number 1 warrior or our pack?

Full strength against full strength.

That meant Darius would fight without limits this time, he would have really meant me this time and even prepared more than before 

My jaw tightened, I could already see it clearly in my mind, his burning rage, the way he would come at me like I was his only target. 

My wolf stirred inside me, restless and alert.

It could feel what I refused to admit out loud, Fear, a real big fear, that's an understatement, I am afraid;

I hated that feeling. I hated even more that it was real.

I pushed myself up from the chair suddenly. I could not sit still anymore.

Almost immediately, my warriors noticed. They straightened their posture, trying to look calm and loyal, like nothing was wrong.

But I knew they were wrong.

They didn’t understand the danger I was in.

They didn’t understand what had been taken from me.

Nina… Nina, my love, has been taken away from me. 

Her name has been in my mouth these days, her name in my mind, I don't know what to do 

If she were here, I knew she would have done somethings, she wouldn't just stay and be looking at me the way Leila did.

But I pushed her away,I remembered it clearly now.

I remembered how she left her pack because of me, how I embarrassed her, how I mocked her in the presence of every one, the way I made her stand alone embarrassed in public when she had always stood by me 

And now…Now I was the one standing alone, now I was the one who needed her.

My chest felt tight.I took a slow breath and forced my voice out.

“Find Nina,” I said.

For a moment, they didn't say anything, they didn't even shift

Did they really heard what I said?

The warriors exchanged quick glances, as if they had heard something they shouldn't hear

Then one of them stepped forward slightly.

“Alpha… after everything that happened… do you really think she will return?” he asked carefully.

The question made something snap inside me. I knew I hurted her, but Nina really lobe me, she would return and this time, I'll make things right 

“Find her!” I said again, louder this time. My voice filled the room. “If you still want me as your Alpha, then you will bring her back to me.”

Silence followed immediately.

No one argued again, but I saw it in their eyes. Doubt. Hesitation. Even judgment. They all remembered how I treated her. They all knew she had no reason to return.

My hands slowly loosened from the chair.

For the first time, I let my pride fall.

“I will reward whoever finds her,” I said, my voice lower now, controlled but urgent. “Anything they want. Gold. land. position. I don’t care. Just bring her back.”

That changed the room.

They all nodded quickly.

“Yes, Alpha,” they replied together.

Without wasting another second, they turned and left the chamber.

The door closed behind them, I can't even feel myself anymore

And then there was silence again.

I leaned back in my chair, staring at the empty space in front of me.

My thoughts would not stop.

She would come back right? 

She can do anything for me to be fine, she can do anything for me to be safe

She really wanted me to be an alpha, so she can be the Luna

Yes, I'll leave Leila, and make her the rightful Luna

She's the one!
