LOGINChapter Four - Where Am I?
Nina’s POV
I opened my eyes, but I couldn’t move, the weight of everything that had happened still on me.
But for a moment, everything isn’t right, the bed isn’t same as the one I do sleep on, the curtains, the walls were dark gray strone and it was decorated with a silver wolf symbols no! I haven’t seen this before
Where… am I?.
I tried steadying my breathing.
I sat up, trying to understand, but pain shot through my head. I started feeling dizzy, which forced me to grab my blanket tightly.
Now, I started remembering, the memeries started returning slowly. Logan, Ceremony, Leora, the guards dragging me out, the forest and yeah…. The injured man, my chest tightened me painfully
I wanted to cry, but tears refused to come out, and maybe because I had cried too much.
I slowly looked around again, this place didn’t feel normal, No! Everything here felt heavy here, expensive and dangerous.
Then I noticed something else, two warriors stood outside the door, they are so huge and are dressed in black uniform, this place is definitely an alpha place.
Of course, my father is an alpha, but this palace is more dark, everybody face here look cold.
“Tell the alpha she’s awake” one of the warriors tell the other.
That’s the injured man then, is he an alpha too? I why is my path always crossing with alphas.
Then suddenly, footsteps echoed outside, heavy footsteps.
The guards instantly lowered their heads.m.
The entire atmosphere changed immediately.
It was strange, every where was silent, no one moved and honestly, the air was becoming suffocating like someone important was coming,
The he come in, but this time he looked completely different, yesterday,he was covered with blood but now he looked terrifying, cold and powerful.
His dark shirt was hugging his muscular body, and his arm and neck were still covered in bandages, but that did not weaken his presence.
The scar on his neck only added to his dangerous presence.
My heart started beating faster. This man…
His eyes landed on me.
For some reason, I suddenly felt small under his gaze.
He walked closer slowly, and every step made me more nervous.
Then he stopped in front of me. “What’s your name?”.
His voice was deep and cold
“N-Nina,” I answered softly.
He stared at me for a few seconds before speaking again.
“You treated my wounds.”
I swallowed nervously and nodded.
“Yes.”
The room suddenly felt too quiet.
“Thank you for helping me,” he finally said.
But even his thanks sounded emotionless.
Like a king speaking to a stranger.
Then his eyes narrowed slightly.
“Yesterday night… Well, seems like you also needed help, what can I do for you in return.
My fingers tightened against the blanket around me.
I opened my mouth, but no words came out immediately, what do I say ? Yes I needed his help but what if he get angry.
“I…” My voice shook badly. “Can I stay here for a while?”
The room became silent again.
His expression didn’t change. But the guards near the door slowly looked at me in shock, like I had just say something they have never had before.
“I don’t have anywhere to go, Can i … Can I stay here for sometime” I whispered.
He stared at me for so long that my hands started shaking harder.
Then finally, he spoke.
“Staying here?” he repeated slowly.
His voice became colder.“Do you even know what staying here means?”.
Fear crawled into my chest immediately.
I lowered my eyes quickly because suddenly, I couldn’t even hold his gaze anymore.
Truthfully?.
I shouldn’t have say that , I didn't know anything, I didn't know who he was, I didn’t even know if that’s even possible here.
“I don’t know,” I admitted weakly. “But… could you help me please?”
For a moment, he said nothing.
Then suddenly, he laughed.
The sound shocked me because there was no amusement inside it.
It sounded dark and very dangerous.
“I know your type very well,” he said calmly.
My stomach tightened immediately.“You didn’t just help me because you wanted to, right@
I blinked rapidly. “What?”
His gaze hardened. “You were sent here.”
My eyes widened in fear. “No… No ” I said, sharply
He laughed, “To spy on my pack.”
“No!” I shook my head quickly. “No, that’s not true.”
His expression remained cold.
“You expect me to believe you found me dying in the forest by chance and you suddenly found something to heal me?”.
I am more confused now, “I did!”
My voice cracked instantly. “I only helped you because you were hurt.”
He took another slow step closer.
“And you want me to believe that?”
The pressure from his presence became unbearable.
I could barely breathe properly.
My wolf was already weak, but around him, she felt even smaller.
“I swear,” I whispered desperately. “I wasn’t sent by anybody.”
His eyes stayed fixed on mine. “Which pack are you from?”
The question hit me painfully because do I say I am from my fathers pack, the father who disowned me or from Logan’s pack
“I…” My voice broke. “I don’t have a pack anymore.”
For the first time, his expression change; slightly, but not softer.
Just surprised. “You don’t have one?”
I shook my head slowly. “You mean there’s a person that’s not from a specific pack?
“I… I am not.”
Even the guards looked at me differently now.
His eyes narrowed carefully. “Even rogues belong somewhere.”
“I don’t,” I whispered painfully.
My vision blurred again. “I really don’t.”
The room became quiet.
Then finally, his expression cooled slightly.
Just less sharp than before. “I will still count that as help but I’ll watch you,” he said coldly.
I looked up slowly and turned toward the guards.
“Keep your eyes on her.”
“Yes, Alpha.” They echoed
He turned toward the maid.
“Take her to another room.”
The maid lowered her head immediately.
“Yes, Alpha.”
Then he looked at me one last time.
“You’ll stay here until I decide what to do with you.”
And for some reason…
That sentence terrified me more than being thrown out of Logan’s pack.
Chapter One Hundred and Forty-Two – Nina's Trial as LunaNina's POVMorning arrived beneath a blanket of gray clouds that covered the palace without bringing rain. The first rays of sunlight struggled to reach the courtyard, leaving the stone walls wrapped in a pale light that matched the mood of everyone living behind them.Tristan had been gone for several days.Although messages arrived whenever his party reached a safe place, the palace no longer carried the same feeling it once had. Every servant worked carefully. Every warrior watched the walls a little longer than usual. Every parent held their children a little closer whenever they crossed the courtyards.Fear had not taken control of the pack.Uncertainty had.I stood outside the eastern balcony overlooking the training grounds, watching the morning drills begin. The warriors moved with discipline, but something had changed.Their attention drifted.Small mistakes appeared where none would have existed before. One warrior mis
Chapter One Hundred and Forty-One – The Enemy Among the HeirsTristan's POVThe journey from the Frozen Temple was quieter than any journey I had taken before. The warning left behind by the First Alpha followed every step we made. Two heirs. Two guardians. One promise. Those words refused to leave my mind. For years, I believed I carried a burden that belonged to me alone. Then I learned Aurora shared my bloodline. After that, the ancient records revealed another heir existed somewhere beyond our sight. Now one question overshadowed every other thought.Who were they? The mountain road curved around steep cliffs before descending into the valley. Snow covered the ground, hiding the old paths beneath a smooth white blanket.Lyra guided us without hesitation."I remember these trails," she said. "My grandfather brought me here when I was a child.""You have never mentioned that before," Nikolai replied."There was never a reason."She looked toward the distant mountains."He always sai
Chapter One Hundred and Forty – The Darkness Beneath the LandTristan's POVThe council chamber had never felt so heavy.Every person seated around the ancient table carried the same expression. No one spoke above a whisper. Even the crackling fire seemed quieter than usual, as though the palace itself understood the importance of what was about to be revealed. The second seal rested inside a carved stone chest at the center of the room. The First Alpha's journal lay open beside it.Its weathered pages had survived centuries, yet the ink remained clear enough to read every warning. The Head Elder slowly closed the book."I hoped these records would answer our questions," he said."They have."His voice grew more solemn."They have also given us questions none of us expected."My eyes remained on the stone chest."The Blood Hunters never stopped chasing us.""No.""They attacked our borders.""They entered our palace.""They searched the Sacred Forest."I looked around the table."They
Chapter One Hundred and Thirty-Nine – Aurora's AwakeningTristan's POVThe journey back from the Frozen Temple should have brought me peace.Instead, every mile seemed to place another question on my shoulders. The First Alpha's records had revealed far more than hidden history. They had uncovered responsibilities that stretched beyond my lifetime, beyond my father's generation, and even beyond the kingdom I had sworn to protect. The second seal rested safely in our possession, yet I could not shake the feeling that we were already moving according to a plan written centuries before any of us were born.Snow covered the mountain trail as our horses descended toward the valley. The captain rode ahead, carefully watching the narrow path, while Lyra and Nikolai remained close behind me. None of us wasted words. Every rider understood that silence often revealed more than conversation.Near sunset, a messenger hawk appeared above us.The bird circled twice before landing on my arm.A tigh
Chapter One Hundred and Thirty-Eight – The Betrayer's IdentityNina's POVThe palace had become a fortress.Every entrance was guarded. Every corridor was watched. Every servant, soldier, and messenger carried a token proving where they belonged. Even the kitchens no longer operated without inspection. Nothing entered the palace unless it had been searched twice.Still, I could not convince myself that we were safe. The greatest danger was no longer outside our walls. It was somewhere inside them.I stood in the council chamber studying the reports spread across the long oak table. Every page contained names, patrol schedules, witness statements, and sketches of the hidden passages discovered beneath the palace. The captain stood opposite me while two trusted officers organized another stack of documents."We have questioned everyone who served in the northern wing," the captain said. "The answers match. No one admitted seeing the impostor without a helmet."I looked up."That tells u
Chapter One Hundred and Thirty-Seven – The First Alpha's WarningTristan's POVThe Frozen Temple stood exactly as we had left it.Its towering pillars stretched toward the gray sky, wrapped in ice that had survived countless winters. Snow drifted across the ancient courtyard, covering our footprints almost as quickly as we made them. The silence surrounding the temple felt different this time. It was no longer the peaceful silence of an abandoned place. It carried the weight of memories waiting to be uncovered.I climbed the worn stone steps with Nikolai beside me and Lyra leading the way. None of us spoke during the final stretch of the journey. We had crossed mountains, frozen rivers, and narrow cliffs to return here, and every step reminded me that the answers we sought had been hidden for generations.Lyra stopped before the massive stone doors."They only opened because the bloodline awakened," she said quietly. "I do not know if they will welcome us a second time."I placed my h
