LOGINChapter Four - Where Am I?
Nina’s POV
I opened my eyes, but I couldn’t move, the weight of everything that had happened still on me.
But for a moment, everything isn’t right, the bed isn’t same as the one I do sleep on, the curtains, the walls were dark gray strone and it was decorated with a silver wolf symbols no! I haven’t seen this before
Where… am I?.
I tried steadying my breathing.
I sat up, trying to understand, but pain shot through my head. I started feeling dizzy, which forced me to grab my blanket tightly.
Now, I started remembering, the memeries started returning slowly. Logan, Ceremony, Leora, the guards dragging me out, the forest and yeah…. The injured man, my chest tightened me painfully
I wanted to cry, but tears refused to come out, and maybe because I had cried too much.
I slowly looked around again, this place didn’t feel normal, No! Everything here felt heavy here, expensive and dangerous.
Then I noticed something else, two warriors stood outside the door, they are so huge and are dressed in black uniform, this place is definitely an alpha place.
Of course, my father is an alpha, but this palace is more dark, everybody face here look cold.
“Tell the alpha she’s awake” one of the warriors tell the other.
That’s the injured man then, is he an alpha too? I why is my path always crossing with alphas.
Then suddenly, footsteps echoed outside, heavy footsteps.
The guards instantly lowered their heads.m.
The entire atmosphere changed immediately.
It was strange, every where was silent, no one moved and honestly, the air was becoming suffocating like someone important was coming,
The he come in, but this time he looked completely different, yesterday,he was covered with blood but now he looked terrifying, cold and powerful.
His dark shirt was hugging his muscular body, and his arm and neck were still covered in bandages, but that did not weaken his presence.
The scar on his neck only added to his dangerous presence.
My heart started beating faster. This man…
His eyes landed on me.
For some reason, I suddenly felt small under his gaze.
He walked closer slowly, and every step made me more nervous.
Then he stopped in front of me. “What’s your name?”.
His voice was deep and cold
“N-Nina,” I answered softly.
He stared at me for a few seconds before speaking again.
“You treated my wounds.”
I swallowed nervously and nodded.
“Yes.”
The room suddenly felt too quiet.
“Thank you for helping me,” he finally said.
But even his thanks sounded emotionless.
Like a king speaking to a stranger.
Then his eyes narrowed slightly.
“Yesterday night… Well, seems like you also needed help, what can I do for you in return.
My fingers tightened against the blanket around me.
I opened my mouth, but no words came out immediately, what do I say ? Yes I needed his help but what if he get angry.
“I…” My voice shook badly. “Can I stay here for a while?”
The room became silent again.
His expression didn’t change. But the guards near the door slowly looked at me in shock, like I had just say something they have never had before.
“I don’t have anywhere to go, Can i … Can I stay here for sometime” I whispered.
He stared at me for so long that my hands started shaking harder.
Then finally, he spoke.
“Staying here?” he repeated slowly.
His voice became colder.“Do you even know what staying here means?”.
Fear crawled into my chest immediately.
I lowered my eyes quickly because suddenly, I couldn’t even hold his gaze anymore.
Truthfully?.
I shouldn’t have say that , I didn't know anything, I didn't know who he was, I didn’t even know if that’s even possible here.
“I don’t know,” I admitted weakly. “But… could you help me please?”
For a moment, he said nothing.
Then suddenly, he laughed.
The sound shocked me because there was no amusement inside it.
It sounded dark and very dangerous.
“I know your type very well,” he said calmly.
My stomach tightened immediately.“You didn’t just help me because you wanted to, right@
I blinked rapidly. “What?”
His gaze hardened. “You were sent here.”
My eyes widened in fear. “No… No ” I said, sharply
He laughed, “To spy on my pack.”
“No!” I shook my head quickly. “No, that’s not true.”
His expression remained cold.
“You expect me to believe you found me dying in the forest by chance and you suddenly found something to heal me?”.
I am more confused now, “I did!”
My voice cracked instantly. “I only helped you because you were hurt.”
He took another slow step closer.
“And you want me to believe that?”
The pressure from his presence became unbearable.
I could barely breathe properly.
My wolf was already weak, but around him, she felt even smaller.
“I swear,” I whispered desperately. “I wasn’t sent by anybody.”
His eyes stayed fixed on mine. “Which pack are you from?”
The question hit me painfully because do I say I am from my fathers pack, the father who disowned me or from Logan’s pack
“I…” My voice broke. “I don’t have a pack anymore.”
For the first time, his expression change; slightly, but not softer.
Just surprised. “You don’t have one?”
I shook my head slowly. “You mean there’s a person that’s not from a specific pack?
“I… I am not.”
Even the guards looked at me differently now.
His eyes narrowed carefully. “Even rogues belong somewhere.”
“I don’t,” I whispered painfully.
My vision blurred again. “I really don’t.”
The room became quiet.
Then finally, his expression cooled slightly.
Just less sharp than before. “I will still count that as help but I’ll watch you,” he said coldly.
I looked up slowly and turned toward the guards.
“Keep your eyes on her.”
“Yes, Alpha.” They echoed
He turned toward the maid.
“Take her to another room.”
The maid lowered her head immediately.
“Yes, Alpha.”
Then he looked at me one last time.
“You’ll stay here until I decide what to do with you.”
And for some reason…
That sentence terrified me more than being thrown out of Logan’s pack.
Chapter Eighty Three – The First QuestionNina's POVBefore the first light of dawn touched the sky, the palace had already awakened.Soft footsteps echoed through the corridors as servants quietly prepared for the day ahead, while warriors dressed in ceremonial armor gathered throughout the palace grounds. No one spoke louder than necessary because this was not a morning meant for celebration. It was a morning that carried the weight of history. The Alpha's Trial had not been held for many years.Generations had passed without the need for it, and now the entire pack stood on the edge of witnessing an event that would decide who was worthy to lead them into the future.I stood on the balcony outside our chambers for a few moments, watching the eastern horizon slowly change from deep blue to pale gold. The morning air was cool against my skin, yet it did nothing to calm the uneasiness inside my heart.Behind me, I heard the quiet rustle of clothing. When I turned around, Tristan had f
Chapter Eighty Two – Come Back to MeNina's POVNight settled gently over the palace, covering every hallway and courtyard in peaceful silence. The excitement that had filled the pack throughout the day had finally faded, yet I knew that very few people were truly sleeping. Tomorrow was the Alpha's Trial, and every warrior, elder, servant, and family within the pack understood that the outcome would shape the future of everyone who called this place home.Inside our chambers, only a few candles remained burning.Their soft light danced across the walls while the fire in the hearth crackled quietly, filling the room with warmth that somehow could not chase away the coldness inside my heart.I stood beside the window, looking out over the palace grounds. The moon hung high above the forest, bright enough to turn the rooftops silver.Everything looked calm.Everything looked peaceful. It almost felt impossible to believe that by this time tomorrow, Tristan would be standing inside the sa
Chapter Eighty One – I Wanted to RunTristan’s POVThe voices of the elders slowly faded behind me as I walked away from the training courtyard, yet I could still hear the sound of the stone pillar crashing against the ground. The noise continued echoing inside my head, mixing with the image of Nina standing directly beneath it while every instinct inside me begged me to run to her.My steps remained slow because I could not suddenly forget the role I had been playing over the past few days. Even now, when no one seemed to be paying much attention to me, I forced myself to walk like a man who had not fully recovered. Every movement felt unnatural because my body wanted to move freely, but my mind kept reminding me that one careless mistake could destroy everything.I reached my chambers without saying a single word. The guards standing outside the door immediately stepped aside as I entered the room.A few seconds later, I heard the door open again.I did not need to turn around to kn
Chapter Eighty – The TestNina’s POVThe following morning began more peacefully than I expected, yet the peace never reached my heart because I had spent the entire night worrying about Tristan. Every time I closed my eyes, I imagined him standing inside the sacred arena seven days from now while the entire pack watched to see whether he still possessed the strength to remain their Alpha. His promise continued echoing inside my mind, and although I wanted to believe every word he had spoken, fear refused to leave me because promises could not stop danger, and they certainly could not prevent those who wished him harm. After breakfast, one of the palace servants informed us that several elders wanted to inspect the training courtyard before preparations for the Alpha’s Trial officially began. Tristan accepted the invitation without hesitation, and although I wanted him to remain inside his chambers and continue resting, I knew there was no point arguing because he had already made his
Chapter Seventy Nine – Shadows in the NightNikolai’s POVThe palace had become unusually quiet after sunset, yet I found no comfort in the silence because my thoughts refused to settle. Every passing day brought the Alpha’s Trial closer, and although everything appeared to be moving in my favor, something deep inside me remained restless.Tristan was supposedly growing weaker with each passing day. That was the story spreading throughout the palace, and it was the same story repeated by servants, guards, warriors, and even the healer himself. Everything suggested that my brother would walk into the trial carrying a body that had not fully recovered from the injuries that had nearly claimed his life.Even so, I could not completely silence the voice inside my mind that kept reminding me who Tristan had always been.He had never been a man who surrendered easily. He had never accepted defeat simply because circumstances demanded it.If there was even the smallest chance of standing aga
Chapter Seventy Eight – The Hardest BattleTristan’s POVNight had always been my favorite time to train because darkness had a way of silencing distractions, allowing a warrior to hear nothing except his own breathing and the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. Tonight, however, the darkness served a different purpose because it was hiding me from the very people I had sworn to protect. The palace had finally fallen asleep. The last patrol had passed through the northern courtyard almost an hour earlier, the servants had retired to their quarters, and only the guards stationed along the walls remained awake beneath the pale moonlight.I pulled the hood of my cloak farther over my head before following the healer through a narrow passage hidden behind the old storage hall. Few people still remembered that the passage existed because it had been built generations ago as an emergency route for the Alpha’s family. Time had buried its entrance beneath climbing vines and cracked stone, making
Chapter Forty Six – Still Not EnoughNina’s POVI had completely lost count of how many warriors Tristan had already fought. At the beginning, people were watching with confidence. They thought it would end quickly, they thought he would fall after a few rounds, they thought he would eventually gi
Chapter Forty Five – Please StopNina’s POVI could not believe what I had just heard. For a moment, I thought Tristan was only saying it because he was angry. I thought he was going to change his mind, I thought he would look at the number of warriors standing around us and realize how impossible
Chapter Thirty Four – Like FamilyNina’s POVI stayed in between the gardens, the garden here was quiet this afternoon.Everything these days had happened too fast, and maybe staying here, I could find peace, I don’t want to worry about anything, these days every thing was just happening too fast,
Chapter Fifty – What Did I Just HearNina’s POVBy the time everything was over, I felt like my entire body no longer belonged to me.Even standing had become difficult.Every part of me felt drained. The healer had warned me that giving away that much power would affect me, but hearing it and actu
