Chapter 31: Lycan In Love

Scarlet’s POV

Just as I entered the royal chamber, the maids were already waiting at the door.

“Help the Luna to—”

“Leave,” I said, holding back the rage crawling up my throat. My eyes shut tight, my fists clenched.

“But Luna, we need to change your—”

“Fuck off!” I snapped, my wolf snarling just beneath the surface. I slammed my fist into the wall, sharp pain slicing through my knuckles. Blood trickled slowly down my hand.

They scattered immediately, scampering away like frightened rats, breathless and wide-eyed.

“All of you. Except you,” I said, pointing to Chloe—the deaf maid—who’d turned halfway, almost walking out with the others.

As much as she’d saved me from death, I couldn’t shake off the question: why? What did she really want from me?
