Mag-log inKieren’s POV
“A mind link just came from the border, some of the warriors said that there is an intruder; a rogue female. She has no park affiliation and claims not to be a spy but that is to be proven.” My personal aide Alex said completing his report.
The pen within my grasp was placed at the side of my table. I inhaled a deep breath, as an alpha to a large pack there was really never a moment of rest.
I pushed myself up to my feet half circling across my table and making a bee line for the door.
Following procedure they were supposed to bring her to my throne room so that was where I was headed Alex dutifully followed beside me.
I thought it was business as usual, imagine my surprise at the rollercoaster of emotions that hit me.
I had found my mate.
And out of the billion other women she could have been she just had to be the spawn of the man I despised with every drop of blood in my body.
That night I knew I couldn't sleep.
My body rolled from one side of the king sized bed over to the other, plagued by my thoughts. My wolf was riled up nagging me to go to our mate, to release her from the cell, embrace her and claim her as our own.
“She needs us, I can feel it.”
“Why are you resisting the bond? go to her!”
“You'll regret this!”
My wolf fluctuated between pain and desperation but I resisted my innate primal urges.
Her father had taken away my family, killed them in cold blood in front of me. It was a memory that still lurks in my mind and crows into my nightmares from time to time.
Now that I had his daughter I could use her as a means of drawing him out of hiding, knowing that slimy bastard Even If I chose to attack his pack he would just flee taking only his family and saving his own skin in the end several innocent people would die but the person I was after would definitely survive.
I was constantly thinking about how I would make him come to me instead and now the opportunity had come to my door first.
His daughter.
There is no way that he won't do anything and everything to bring her back.
This was the only thought that allowed me to snatch a few hours of sleep then the next day I was informed that his daughter was not eating.
“The food the servants brought to her both last night and this morning were untouched.” Alex told me
I shifted away from my own food when I heard that.
“And you know why that is? Does she still think that she is within her father's territory?”
Alex's voice lowered a bit, “She says that she wants to see you Alpha, it's about the mate bond.”
I went stiff all over.
“Fine.” I said tightly abandoning my breakfast and heading over to the upper cell, there were two cells in the pack House. Both of them were underground but one was above the other, the lower cell which was less maintained was for horrid criminals and vile creatures who had lost every sense of right and wrong.
While the upper one was for those we believe could be recovered back into society it was well maintained and in better conditions.
I entered and went to the end of the hall where there was one individual room, a special containment, the only one that had a bed frame and looked closer to proper living conditions than the rest of them.
I stepped in not worrying about her trying to escape because she already had one hand chained to the wall which gave her just enough mobility to take about five steps from her bed but nothing more.
As soon as her scent hit me my repressed wolf nearly rose up to the surface, but I was able to use my alpha Ora to hold it back.
“I was told that you wanted to see me, and of course I could not deny the princess her request,” I said to her with sarcasm dripping through every word.
She looked at me, took a deep breath and said,
“You're wasting your time keeping me locked up here.”
For some reason it didn't sound like she was lying. I had an ear like that trained on instinct that could tell easily when people lied. Of course there were some people that were so talented in this craft of deception that they bypassed my skill but they were not many.
And I wouldn't be surprised if the daughter of that man would be one of such people.
“What makes you think I'm wasting my time? My target is your father and what other way of getting him out where I can sink my clothes into him other than telling him that I have his precious princess?” This was the part where she was supposed to get scared and frightened instead she started to laugh.
At least it sounded like a laugh but it came out dry and bitter.
“It's just as I said before, you're wasting your time. My father would care more about a piece of gum stuck under his shoe than me. If you want to get back at him and he wants to draw him out of the park, trust me I'm not the way to do that.”
“I'll be the judge of that.” I said not falling for her lies, “what kind of father wouldn't care what his daughter is going through? Do I look like a fool who would fall for something like that?”
She really gave me a once over from head to toe.
“Not really, but if you want to keep trying then go ahead but don't say I didn't warn you.”
She laid down on the bed and defeated the air hanging over her.
Was she really telling the truth?
Well I had an ace up my sleeve to find out.
I walked over to her grabbing her by her free hand and pulling her to a sitting position.
“Tell me then..” I said as my voice dropped, “would your father not care even if we sent your corpse to him?”

Tamara's POV “I have always loved you and always will, Tam. Nothing can change that.” Why does my mind keep replaying this same memory? He pressed a soft kiss against my forehead, playfully fiddling with my fingers. I beamed from one ear over to the next.“Same here. I don't think I'll know what to do if I ever lose you.” He raised my fingers up to his lips pressing what I thought was another sincere kiss. “That will never happen,” he promised. Then like a switch he flipped his hand shooting out and grabbing my neck in a vice grip.“It was all your fault! You stole her life. You-” “Let go of me!” I choked out the words, kicking my legs.I woke up with my leg striking between someone's thighs, taken off guard he wailed and crumbled on the floor.“Are you okay?” I blurted out as he was on his knees. It has been over 2 weeks since I cut off all ties with Crestwood pack and sought my own path, one that would eventually lead me back to revenge.I had promised that I would make all of
Tamara's POV He held the check higher as if I wasn't already seeing it. “Let's not drag this on any longer.” He said dismissively. When I still didn't take it from him he tossed the cheque on the floor.“What's wrong with you?” He snapped, “both of us already know that there is nothing left for you in Crestwood. You might not know this since you have been rotting in your room for the past few days but even the servants have turned you into a laughingstock.” I sighed, my chest falling so far it pressed into my ribs.“My only crime was loving you…” I said quietly, “is it really worth punishing me this way?” He crossed his legs.“It was your fault, you allowed yourself to be deceived. Anyone could have seen that I only had eyes for your sister since when we were just pups playing in the mud…” he stood up, walking past the fireplace, towering over me.“Tiana already told me everything, she said you were the one who dragged her to the border that day…” he grabbed at the back of my hair
Tamara's POV “Tammy, I know you're upset but you need to eat something,” Mother said, trying to guide a spoonful of porridge past my lips.It had been two days since my discharge, I hadn't eaten a single morsel of food and I was planning to keep it that way“Upset?” I spat out, “is that all you have to say about the death of your unborn grandchild?” Mother's face went pale, she placed the porridge aside and folded her hands on her lap, her signature move.“It was unfortunate,” She had enough shame to admit that, “but maybe it's for the best, what good would it be to be pregnant for your sister's man?” “Get out…” I said quietly, she shifted uncomfortably on her chair but didn't budge beyond that. “Tam, Tiana is your twin and Caden is practically the brother you never had. Can you say you won't regret it if you cut them off?” My eyes blazed with rage.“What more do you people want from me? What else am I required to give to that traitor before it will be enough. She already has my m
Tamara's pov“I,Caden Jasper, heir of the Crestwood Alpha, reject you, Tamara Vladis, as my mate.” A dark pit swallowed my heart whole, the very ground I stood on tilted. The pack hall was instantly flooded with murmurs, confusion swirling into every exchange.“Why?” My voice cracked past my trembling lips, “Caden, is this another one of your jokes?” My attempt to play it off failed miserably, his expression was as set as stone.“Does it look like I'm joking with you?” His demeanor shifted.I wobbled in my heels, “If you got cold feet, why didn't you tell me all this time? Why did you lead me here first?!” Here, in the pack hall, we stood before not just our families but distinguished high ranking wolves and elders.“Accept my rejection,” He said sternly, unmoved by the tears that had begun to pool in my eyes. “But what about our future, Caden? Just last night we were talking about the name we'd give our pups…remember?” I clutched to his arm like a man at sea holding on to driftw
