Hannah

I stood inside the bedroom, my heart pounding against my ribs,as I tried to hear what they were saying outside, and the word "Alpha" still echoing in my mind.

If Derek was just a lone wolf living in the woods, why did someone call him that?

My curiosity won and I leaned forward, pressing my ear against the cool wood of the door to catch more.

I strained to listen, but the door handle was old and loose. As I shifted my weight, my hand slipped, and the handle turned under my palm. I lost my balance. I stumbled forward, my feet tangling in my own legs, and I crashed through the door, landing hard on the wooden floor of the outer room.

My face heated up with total embarrassment. I scrambled to get up, my hair falling into my eyes. I looked up and saw Derek standing there. Beside him stood a massive man with a thick beard and tired eyes. They both looked at me, surprised.

My first instinct was to run. I did not know who this other man was, and I still did not know the truth about who Derek was. I turned to sprint back toward the bedroom, but a voice stopped me in my tracks.

"Hey!"

I froze. Derek’s voice was firm, but it did not sound angry. I stood still, my back to them, waiting. Derek walked toward me and stopped a few feet away. "You do not need to hide. You are not a prisoner here. You can go anywhere you like in this cabin."

I did not answer. The humiliation of falling was too much. I kept my head down, walked past him, entered the bedroom, and gently pulled the door shut.

I sat on the edge of the bed, feeling my cheeks burning. How could I embarrass myself like that? He probably thought I was a clumsy, broken mess.

My stomach gave a loud, painful growl. I looked at the table where Derek had left the bowl of soup earlier. It was still there. Driven by pure hunger, I picked up the spoon and ate. It was simple, warm, and tasted better than anything I had eaten in months. After the last drop was gone, the exhaustion of the past few weeks finally caught up with me. I lay back against the soft blankets and fell into a deep sleep.

When I woke up, the cabin was dark. The fire in the fireplace had burned down and I felt rested for the first time in a long time. I sat up, realizing I was thirsty, and walked out into the main room.

I saw Derek was sitting in a large wooden chair by the fire. He was cleaning a piece of leather with a cloth. The sitting room was cozy and rugged. Furs were draped over the furniture, and the walls were lined with hand-carved tools.

I walked to the far side of the room and sat on a low stool by the wall. I did not want to bother him, but I also did not want to be entirely alone in the dark.

I watched him from across the room. The firelight caught the sharp lines of his face and the way his muscles moved under his shirt as he worked.

He looked incredibly strong, but his hands were gentle. There was something about the way he moved. I found myself staring, unable to look away. A strange, warm feeling began to pulse low in my stomach, a sensation I had not felt in a very long time.

Suddenly, Derek stopped moving. He did not look up, but his nostrils flared slightly as he took a deep breath.

"Your heart rate has changed, mate," he said, his voice dropping to a low, husky rumble.

"And your scent... it is changing, too. It's so sweet and I can smell your desire."

My eyes widened in shock and i wanted the floor to open up and swallow me whole. I was mortified. I squeezed my eyes shut, wishing I could vanish. I started to stand up, ready to bolt back into the bedroom to hide forever, but his voice stopped me.

"Do not run," he said, his tone softening. He finally looked up at me, his dark eyes filled with understanding. "It is okay. It is perfectly normal for mates to feel drawn to one another. Your body is just reacting to the bond. I know you are not ready for anything like that, and I promise you, I will never push you."

I sank back onto the stool, my hands trembling in my lap. I was still embarrassed, but his honesty made the shame melt away.

He was not disgusted by me; he was just aware of what we were to each other.

We sat in silence for a long time. The only sound was the crackle of the wood in the fireplace. I appreciated his patience. He was giving me the space I needed, not pushing me to talk when I was not ready.

Finally, he set the leather down. He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees, and looked into the fire.

"I grew up in a place with many people," he said quietly. "My father was the leader. I was raised to take his place. I thought I knew what it meant to lead and protect. But I was wrong. So I was shocked when I found you. I never thought I'd be blessed with a mate."

I listened to every word. He sounded so sad and honest. My fear started to fade because I realized he might have been hurt just as badly as I had. We were both alone.

But the question about his title was still bothering me. I looked at him, feeling brave enough to ask.

"I don't understand something," I said softly. "You are a rogue and you have no pack."

I took a breath and looked him in the eyes. "So, what did that man mean when he called you Alpha?”

HannahI woke up slowly. The air was warm, and the smell of fresh rain and the forest filled the room. I was lying in a soft bed with thick blankets tucked tightly around me. I looked at my hands and sat up quickly, my heart beating fast. Where was I?The room was small but clean. A fire crackled in the stone fireplace, casting a soft orange glow over everything. I heard a quiet sound near the door, and the man who saved me walked into the room. He carried a wooden bowl with steaming soup.He stopped when he saw me sitting up. He stayed near the door, keeping his distance to show he was not a threat."You are awake," he said. His voice was really deep. "I am Derek."I stared at him. Up close, I saw his dark, kind eyes and the strong line of his jaw. As he stepped closer, the scent of rain and pine grew stronger. My heart began pounding again. My wolf recognized him fully now. The bond pulled at my chest, warm and overwhelming. He was my true mate.Derek set the bowl down on a small

Hannah The cold was no longer just outside; it had settled deep into my bones. I had been walking for three days without a real meal. My body felt like it belonged to someone else. Every step was a fight against gravity. I was not just hungry; I was completely empty.I reached a small, rocky overhang near the base of a dark cliff. It offered little protection, but it was all I could manage. My legs gave out, and I collapsed onto the freezing ground. I curled into a ball, pulling my tattered dress tight around me, but it did nothing to stop the shivering.I stared at the dark forest ahead and I thought about the Moonpeak Pack. I thought about Brian, who had thrown me away like trash, and Ava, who had stolen everything I had ever loved. I remembered my brother, the last person who truly cared for me, and the way I had felt when his light went out. What was the point?I was tired of being hunted. I was tired of being chased away from every border like a disease. I was tired of the hung

HannahBrian finally released his grip, and I collapsed onto the cold kitchen tiles. Air rushed into my burning lungs, fast and painful. I clutched my throat, coughing until my chest ached. I looked up at him, pleading for a shred of mercy from the man who had promised to love me, but his eyes were flat, cold stones."Brian, please," I rasped. "I did not do it. She lied to you.""Shut up!" he roared. He turned away, his voice dripping with disgust. "Get her out of my packhouse. Throw her out of the territory immediately.""Brian, no! This is my home!" I screamed, but it was useless.Three guards lunged forward. They pinned my arms, their fingers digging into my skin, and dragged me toward the back exit. I kicked and fought, but I was weak from the shock. As I was dragged out, I glanced back. Ava stood behind Brian. She cradled her hand, but her eyes were fixed on me with a sharp, triumphant smirk. The memory of her voice echoed in my head: “You will leave when I say you leave”.They

HannahLater that evening, I walked to Brian's office. I needed to speak with him alone. I knocked on the heavy door."Come in," Brian called out.I walked inside. He sat behind his large desk, buried in paperwork. "Brian, we need to talk," I said.He sighed and put his pen down. "What is it, Hannah? I am very busy.""I am teaching Ava as you asked," I started, keeping my voice steady. "But I want to talk about my future. Even though I am hurt, I do not think I should have to leave the pack when I am finished. This is my only home. My friends are here. I will step down from any authority, but please, do not force me away."Brian frowned. "We already discussed this.""I know," I said. "But you broke your promise to me. I deserve to stay in my home.""You cannot stay, Hannah," he said coldly. "My mate is not comfortable. Ava knows about our past, and she wants you gone. I agree with her. It is better for everyone if you leave."I stared at him. This was the man I planned to spend my lif

  • Rejected Luna, Fated to the Exiled Alpha    chapter 1

Hannah"I promise you... when I return, I'll finally make you my Luna."I remembered Brian’s exact words. He said them to me two weeks ago in front of the whole pack before he left for his meeting and today, he was finally coming back home.I felt so excited I could barely stand still. I woke up very early this morning. I put on my blue dress because I wanted to look perfect for him. For three years, I worked as the acting Luna of the Moonpeak Pack. I managed the food, helped organized the patrols, and assisted the pack members. I loved the pack, and I loved Brian. We planned to lead the pack together and my dream was finally coming true."Good morning, Hannah!" Mark, a young warrior, called out as I walked through the main hall. He bowed his head to show respect."Good morning, Mark," I replied with a wide smile."The Alpha is coming back today. We are all very excited for you," he said. "You will definitely be our official Luna by tonight.""Thank you, Mark," I said. My heart felt
