Hannah

The cold was no longer just outside; it had settled deep into my bones. I had been walking for three days without a real meal.

My body felt like it belonged to someone else. Every step was a fight against gravity. I was not just hungry; I was completely empty.

I reached a small, rocky overhang near the base of a dark cliff. It offered little protection, but it was all I could manage. My legs gave out, and I collapsed onto the freezing ground. I curled into a ball, pulling my tattered dress tight around me, but it did nothing to stop the shivering.

I stared at the dark forest ahead and I thought about the Moonpeak Pack. I thought about Brian, who had thrown me away like trash, and Ava, who had stolen everything I had ever loved. I remembered my brother, the last person who truly cared for me, and the way I had felt when his light went out.

What was the point?

I was tired of being hunted. I was tired of being chased away from every border like a disease. I was tired of the hunger that gnawed at my stomach. I had tried so hard to stay alive, but the world clearly didn't want me in it.

“Just let it end” a voice whispered in my mind.

The idea brought a strange, dark peace. If I just stopped moving, the cold would take me. I would sleep, and the memories of the betrayal would finally stop hurting. I closed my eyes, my breathing becoming shallow and slow.

My will to live…the thing that had kept me going through the weeks of rejection and loneliness snapped like a dry twig.

I was finally ready to die.

Suddenly I heard something. It was the sound of heavy footsteps crunching through the frozen leaves.

I didn't open my eyes. I didn't care. If it was a wolf, let it be. If it was a rogue, let it finish the job. I was too far gone to be afraid.

"Hey!"

The voice was deep and rough. It wasn't the scream of a hunter or the taunt of a rogue. I was that of a man.

I felt a big, warm hand touch my shoulder. The heat of it was so intense that I gasped, my eyes flickering open.

I looked up. Through my blurry, tear-filled vision, I saw the man. He was tall, with broad shoulders that seemed to block out the harsh wind. Even in the dim moonlight, I could see the intensity in his eyes. He didn't look like a scavenger or a monster. He looked beautiful.

"You're freezing," he said. His voice was soft now, laced with a concern that made my chest ache.

I tried to speak, but my throat was too dry. I could only let out a weak, pathetic whimper. My head dropped back against the rock. The darkness was pulling at me again, stronger than before. I felt myself slipping into that final, silent sleep.

"No… no please," he growled low in his throat. "Stay with me… I finally found you."

Before I could sink into the void, he scooped me up. I felt his arms slide under my back and knees. He was strong, and incredibly warm. Being held by him felt like stepping into the sunlight after a long, brutal winter.

My head rested against his chest. I could hear the thudding of his heart and It was the most beautiful sound I had ever heard.

As he began to walk, carrying me through the woods,I took a deep breath and a scent hit me. It was of fresh rain, and the deep, earthy smell of the forest. It was a scent that felt like home. And it came from him.

My wolf, which had been silent suddenly whimpered in recognition. A spark of life ignited deep in my soul.

He wasn't just a stranger. He was the anchor I had been searching for.

“Mate” I whispered.

"I've got you," he whispered, his voice vibrating through his chest and into my own. "You're safe now."

The warmth of his body and the promise in his voice were enough to pull me back from the edge. My eyelids grew heavy, but this time, it wasn't the darkness of death pulling me down; it was the exhaustion of a long journey finally coming to an end.

I didn't have to fight anymore. He was here.

My mate was here.

HannahI stood inside the bedroom, my heart pounding against my ribs,as I tried to hear what they were saying outside, and the word "Alpha" still echoing in my mind. If Derek was just a lone wolf living in the woods, why did someone call him that? My curiosity won and I leaned forward, pressing my ear against the cool wood of the door to catch more.I strained to listen, but the door handle was old and loose. As I shifted my weight, my hand slipped, and the handle turned under my palm. I lost my balance. I stumbled forward, my feet tangling in my own legs, and I crashed through the door, landing hard on the wooden floor of the outer room.My face heated up with total embarrassment. I scrambled to get up, my hair falling into my eyes. I looked up and saw Derek standing there. Beside him stood a massive man with a thick beard and tired eyes. They both looked at me, surprised. My first instinct was to run. I did not know who this other man was, and I still did not know the truth about

HannahI woke up slowly. The air was warm, and the smell of fresh rain and the forest filled the room. I was lying in a soft bed with thick blankets tucked tightly around me. I looked at my hands and sat up quickly, my heart beating fast. Where was I?The room was small but clean. A fire crackled in the stone fireplace, casting a soft orange glow over everything. I heard a quiet sound near the door, and the man who saved me walked into the room. He carried a wooden bowl with steaming soup.He stopped when he saw me sitting up. He stayed near the door, keeping his distance to show he was not a threat."You are awake," he said. His voice was really deep. "I am Derek."I stared at him. Up close, I saw his dark, kind eyes and the strong line of his jaw. As he stepped closer, the scent of rain and pine grew stronger. My heart began pounding again. My wolf recognized him fully now. The bond pulled at my chest, warm and overwhelming. He was my true mate.Derek set the bowl down on a small

HannahBrian finally released his grip, and I collapsed onto the cold kitchen tiles. Air rushed into my burning lungs, fast and painful. I clutched my throat, coughing until my chest ached. I looked up at him, pleading for a shred of mercy from the man who had promised to love me, but his eyes were flat, cold stones."Brian, please," I rasped. "I did not do it. She lied to you.""Shut up!" he roared. He turned away, his voice dripping with disgust. "Get her out of my packhouse. Throw her out of the territory immediately.""Brian, no! This is my home!" I screamed, but it was useless.Three guards lunged forward. They pinned my arms, their fingers digging into my skin, and dragged me toward the back exit. I kicked and fought, but I was weak from the shock. As I was dragged out, I glanced back. Ava stood behind Brian. She cradled her hand, but her eyes were fixed on me with a sharp, triumphant smirk. The memory of her voice echoed in my head: “You will leave when I say you leave”.They

HannahLater that evening, I walked to Brian's office. I needed to speak with him alone. I knocked on the heavy door."Come in," Brian called out.I walked inside. He sat behind his large desk, buried in paperwork. "Brian, we need to talk," I said.He sighed and put his pen down. "What is it, Hannah? I am very busy.""I am teaching Ava as you asked," I started, keeping my voice steady. "But I want to talk about my future. Even though I am hurt, I do not think I should have to leave the pack when I am finished. This is my only home. My friends are here. I will step down from any authority, but please, do not force me away."Brian frowned. "We already discussed this.""I know," I said. "But you broke your promise to me. I deserve to stay in my home.""You cannot stay, Hannah," he said coldly. "My mate is not comfortable. Ava knows about our past, and she wants you gone. I agree with her. It is better for everyone if you leave."I stared at him. This was the man I planned to spend my lif

  • Rejected Luna, Fated to the Exiled Alpha    chapter 1

Hannah"I promise you... when I return, I'll finally make you my Luna."I remembered Brian’s exact words. He said them to me two weeks ago in front of the whole pack before he left for his meeting and today, he was finally coming back home.I felt so excited I could barely stand still. I woke up very early this morning. I put on my blue dress because I wanted to look perfect for him. For three years, I worked as the acting Luna of the Moonpeak Pack. I managed the food, helped organized the patrols, and assisted the pack members. I loved the pack, and I loved Brian. We planned to lead the pack together and my dream was finally coming true."Good morning, Hannah!" Mark, a young warrior, called out as I walked through the main hall. He bowed his head to show respect."Good morning, Mark," I replied with a wide smile."The Alpha is coming back today. We are all very excited for you," he said. "You will definitely be our official Luna by tonight.""Thank you, Mark," I said. My heart felt
