It took him ten minutes to finally respond to the picture I sent and when he did, it was one line:

I’ll be home soon.

I scoffed, reading the message over again, hoping that it would change, but it never did. I showed him proof of his infidelity and all he had to say was that he would be home?

I felt pathetic.

What was I expecting? A heartfelt apology? He couldn’t even admit that he’d done something wrong. He was probably with her at the moment, maybe that’s why he didn’t respond. Maybe he was hoping that if he spoke to me in person, I’d be more willing to forgive his indiscretions.
