Sixty

~Nathan's POV

I stared at the giggling maids who were looking at me acting coy and shy. I looked down at the bouquets of flowers they had stretched towards me and then back up at their faces.

I looked around, to see if there was anyone hiding to take pictures or videos of the interaction.

Although I had been a bit startled when I heard the maids’ confession, it was not the first time something like that would happen to me. In the past, I would have accepted the flowers and maybe even flirted with them for a while before sending them on their way, but this time around, I could not act like I used to.

I scratched the back of my neck and stared at the two girls, uncomfortable with the attention, knowing my mate was in the building. I wanted to tell them that I had a mate, but I knew I couldn't. Just as I opened my mouth to politely reject the flowers, one of them gave me a wink and pouted her lips, pretending to throw me a kiss.
