Luna's POV

I've been getting better over the past few days, and today I finally feel strong enough to go back to the field. It's been three days since the incident. The doctors said I'm healing well, but I still have to be careful not to overexert myself.

As I walk slowly toward the field, taking my time because my head still feels a bit dizzy sometimes, I'm thinking about how good it will feel to see my teammates again. I'm also nervous about facing everyone after what happened, but I know I can't hide away forever.

I'm about halfway to the field when someone suddenly steps out from behind a parked car and blocks my path. I stop walking and look up, immediately feeling confused and a little scared.

It's a man I recognize, though it takes me a moment to place where I've seen him before. Then it hits me—he's Liam's father. I remember his face clearly from that night when I went to Liam's house.

My first instinct is to turn around and walk away as quickly as possible. Something about th

Luna's POVI feel my heart drop completely. First Liam's father's horrible words, then Liam walking away from me, and now Cassie is leaving too? I can't handle losing the one person who has always been there for me.Tears start forming in my eyes, and I can feel them about to spill over. "Cassie, no," I whisper, my voice shaking. "You can't leave. You're the only friend I have left."But then something unexpected happens. Cassie starts laughing. Not just a small chuckle, but loud, genuine laughter that fills the entire room.I stare at her in complete confusion. "What… what are you laughing about?"She keeps laughing, holding her stomach like it's the funniest thing she's ever heard. "Oh my god, Luna, you should see your face right now!""Cassie, I don't understand. Why are you laughing? You just said you're leaving!"She finally stops laughing and looks at me with a huge grin on her face. "I'm only joking, Luna. I'm not going anywhere."For a moment, I just stand there staring at her

Luna's POVFor a moment, I just sit there, feeling completely lost and devastated. His words keep echoing in my head: "I will not allow my son to settle for an orphan." The way he said it—like I'm something disgusting that needs to be thrown away—makes my chest feel tight with pain. But then something inside me shifts. The hurt starts turning into anger. Who does he think he is to talk to me like that? Who does he think he is to decide what's best for Liam without even considering Liam's feelings?I quickly stand up from the table, my chair scraping loudly against the floor. I'm not going to let him walk away after saying those horrible things to me. I'm going to give him a piece of my mind.I storm outside the café, pushing the door open so hard it bangs against the wall. I can see him walking toward the parking lot, his hands in his pockets like he doesn't have a care in the world."Wait!" I call out, my voice louder and stronger than I expected. He stops walking and turns around, l

Luna's POVMy eyes flutter open slowly, and immediately I feel a sharp pain shooting through my head. The pain is so intense that I have to squeeze my eyes shut again for a moment before trying to open them once more. When I finally manage to keep my eyes open, I look around and realize I'm lying in a hospital bed. The room is white and sterile, with the familiar smell of disinfectant filling my nose. There's an IV drip connected to my arm, and I can hear the steady beeping of machines around me.I turn my head slightly, wincing at the movement, and see Cassie resting her head on the bedside table. She's sleeping, but even in her sleep, she looks exhausted and worried. Her hair is messy, and there are dried tear stains on her cheeks.I clear my throat softly, trying to get her attention without startling her too much. The sound immediately wakes Cassie up. She lifts her head and looks at me with wide eyes. The moment she realizes I'm awake, tears start streaming down her face again."

Dominic's POVThe two of them start shaking as they look at me with fear in their eyes. Sarah's tears are flowing freely now, and Jack keeps wiping sweat from his forehead even though it's not that hot."Please don't kill us," Sarah pleads, her voice breaking. "We're sorry. We didn't mean for it to happen.""Please, Dominic," Jack adds, his voice trembling. "It was an accident. We never wanted Luna to get hurt."I stare at them for a long moment, letting their fear sink in. Part of me wants to make them suffer the way Luna is suffering right now, but I know I can't cross that line."I won't kill you," I finally say, my voice cold and controlled. "I'm not as wicked as you two are. But I'm going to make sure you get a taste of your own medicine."I shift the car into park and turn off the engine."Get out," I command. They both scramble out of the car quickly, clearly afraid to make me wait. I follow them, taking my time."Walk to the field," I tell them, pointing toward the track that

Dominic's POVI return to the field with Alex and Liam after our meeting with the lawyers about the lawsuit. The legal situation is complicated, but we managed to work out some preliminary agreements that might help resolve things. I'm actually feeling somewhat optimistic about finding a solution. But the moment we step onto the field, I can tell something is terribly wrong. The scene in front of us is complete chaos. Equipment is scattered everywhere, benches are overturned, and most shocking of all, not even half the team members are present. Coach Margaret had specifically told everyone to be here by evening for an emergency team meeting."What the hell happened here?" Alex mutters beside me, looking around at the chaos. The few teammates who are still here are sitting in small groups, and they all look shaken. Some of them are crying. Others are just staring at the ground with blank expressions.Coach Margaret walks closer to the remaining team members, his face showing concern an
