~Gaston~
The pain I'm feeling is excruciating; my head is spinning uncontrollably as my chauffeur, Killian, keeps driving farther away from the source of my pain. "Pull over," I tell Killian. The car hitches to a stop almost immediately and he stares at me through the rearview mirror, his face lined with worry. I groan into my palms painfully as my veins go through bouts of painful constrictions. "What can I do, Alpha?" Killian asks. "Turn the car around," I tell him, "and drive until I ask you to stop." He nods and kicks the car into gear, pulling it into reverse. We started heading back to the same route we were coming from. A few minutes into the ride, the maddening pain starts to fade gradually, getting replaced by an unbearable intense pull that is almost pulling me out of the car. "Killian, stop the car." I groan. The car halts instantly. I push outside, staggering towards the nearby woods; the exact direction of the unbearable pull. I don't have the time to tell Killian what's happening to me, because even I don't understand it yet. But I know he will be alert and super attentive, awaiting my command through the mind link. I am being pulled deeper into the woods. I soon break into a frenzied run when the pull becomes overwhelming. Suddenly, my heart starts to feel like it's been ripped out of my chest. I crouch down, squeezing my chest painfully. The pain stops almost as fast as it came. 'Something is wrong'. Drea, my wolf tells me. "I know, I can feel it too," I reply. Taking a deep breath, I let Drea take over my senses, letting him sniff around for something, anything that can offer us a clue as to why we are here. 'Nothing,' he growls in frustration. But I can feel something... I know he can feel it too. Gentle air blows across my skin, pushing a faint scent into my nostrils. 'Goddess! It's a woman'. Drea says. Before I can say a word, he gasps 'What is she? She's here, Gaston,' he adds, jumping excitedly. 'But she's in danger.' He tells me while readying himself for a fight. "We're not fighting today, Buddy." I tell him, "I'm too dressed..." Another scent pushed through my nose. "Blood," and It does something intense to me. The hairs on my neck stand on end, and an overwhelming need to protect something... someone overtakes me. "Sorry, Drea," I say to my wolf as I tuck him away. I start with slow, gentle, and inaudible incantations. It didn't take more than a few seconds before the invisible barrier of whoever was hiding from me got broken. They appear just a few feet away from me. Three men, one of them holding a blade to the neck of an unconscious-looking girl who he seems to have nipped her skin unknowingly. I instantly summon Killian to join me in the woods via the mind link. "Who are you?" One of the men asks, surprised that I could break their barrier of magic. I shrug and reply, "Your worst nightmare, I guess." Two of the men rush at me with whips and machete. 'Old fashioned fools'. I can feel Drea tugging at me, pleading that I let him out for a fight. "Not today, Buddy," I tell him and hear him whine angrily. I teleport myself swiftly to the man holding the unconscious-looking girl and rip out his heart before he can understand what's really happening. The other two turn back to look at me when they hear the thud of their colleague's body. I wedge the weight of the girl with my body frame, before sparing a glance at my audience of two. "Surprise?" I ask, flashing a devilish smile. "What are you?" One of them asks, completely terrified. "But I told you already," I reply. The brave one among them pulls out a knife and a stake from his pocket. I catch sight of the silver on the blade of the knife and smile. "You want to kill me?" I ask him. "Oh, so now you're scared." He laughs crazily. "Indeed, I'm scared." I reply, "for you, actually." He looks at me and our eyes meet. 'Worst mistake of his life.' Our eye contact let me take over his mind, controlling him. His hands start moving towards his chest involuntarily. He struggled to put his hands away, but he couldn't, not when I was controlling his mind and body. I offered him a soft, wicked smile when the knife and stake were just inches away from his forehead and chest, respectively. "What are you? Free me from your spell, you demon!" He yells. I can do this all day because it somehow keeps me entertained. Especially this part where the aggressors realize they're going to die and there's nothing they can do about it. "Do you have a fuckin holy-water, Clarence?" He asks his colleague who is busy chanting stupid incantations that will have absolutely no effect on me. "Yes," Clarence answers. "But I can't move my body. He's tied me up somehow." The brave one is now sweating profusely. "You can take her if you want her that much. We didn't..." The knife and stake dug into his forehead and heart before he could finish speaking. He slumps and dies. Pleased with myself, I turn to Clarence. He averts his gaze immediately, refusing to look at me. "I have holy water with me." He challenges. I pull the unconscious girl into an embrace and walk over to him. With my free hand, I dipped a hand into his pocket and located the bottle of holy water. Then I empty it on the ground while he watches. "What else do you have for me?" I ask him. The fear in his eyes tripled. "What are you?" He asks. I smile sweetly. "Your death." He is on the floor the next minute, lifeless. Killian chooses the moment to arrive, his eyes bloodshot, ready to fight. But he sighs regrettably when he realizes the show is over. Pulling the unconscious girl into my arms, all the while chuckling at Killian's sore mood. I stare at the girl's angelic face, 'Yes.' Drea hums with excitement. 'She's the one.' "She's the one for what? Drea, what the hell are you saying?" I query my wolf. The rustle of leaves interrupts our discussion as I watch a figure escaping the woods. I raise my hand and stop Killian from going after the intruder. 'She's the Moon-made Luna.' Drea says, leaving me utterly dumbfounded.~Xyana~My thoughts get cut short by the sounds of growling and hissing coming from somewhere behind me. The sounds are like that of people fighting. My stomach takes a dramatic dive when I recognize the owner of the growls. I will know that sound anywhere. It belongs to Gaston. I sprint in the direction of the noises, my heart racing as the sound of my Alpha's distress only seems to grow louder and more intense. But instead of Gaston, I stumble on something way worse. There are two men; one is older with a hint of several gray hairs, and the other is younger. Both of them are looking out into a clearing of the forest, their backs to me. The younger one is standing, his arms casually crossed over his chest. The older man is crouched down low, his clothing flowing on the ground. His arms are held out in front of him, and his fingers are splayed out. It takes me a moment to realize exactly what they are looking at. There is a mountain of people piled on top of a fighting, snarli
If you've gotten to this point, I'd love to send you virtual hugs and also thank you for sticking around till this point. Here is a free chapter for you ❤️~Gaston~Callum's clones dig into my skin ferociously as if they're on some kind of drug.Time is running out for me to locate where Azzarus and the real Callum are. The more I lose my flesh to these clones, the weaker I'll become, preparing me as an easy kill for the real Callum. The clones I killed kept coming back to life giving rise to a continuous circle of killing and reappearing.Quickly, I shift my priority to keeping them away from my jugular vein. Callum and Azzarus didn't bother to provide them with any weapon, so they only have their fangs and nails to torture me with.I'm certain they will try to go for my neck anytime soon because it will be the quickest and easiest way to kill me. I can't let that happen. Before I could manage to push the multitude on my back away, two of the clones bit into my leg at the same time,
~ Gaston ~Fuck! I know exactly who is behind this. Only one man can do this. Callum is using magic to make multiple copies of himself. But I already know that none of the versions surrounding me are the real him. And harming these duplicates will do nothing to the real him. I can kill them, yes. Just like I killed the other Callum that appeared in front of me. But he will still create a new uninjured clone to flash that stupid grin at me. Deciding to confirm what I already know, I shoot at four of them with silver bullets. They died and four fresh clones appeared to replace them. I shoot my hand out and, using pure force, I sink it into the chest of the Callum closest to me, not hesitating to wrap it around his heart. It feels extremely satisfying to watch fear take over his expression as he realizes my intentions, to rip his heart out from his chest. But before I can get a chance to bring his miserable life to an end, he vanishes into thin air, just like that. I try using m
~Gaston~My supposed friend, Callum stood before me, dressed casually in black slacks and a matching black button-up shirt. His cocky grin shows off the hatred I failed to spot all along. "Casualties of war, I suppose," Callum continues, his menacing grin expanding over the pale skin of his face. He speaks cheerfully as if this was one of those times we engage in deep friendly conversations in my office as old friends. An all-consuming fury races through me, taking over my every thought, my eyesight blurring with rage. "You did this?" I ask, pointing to my brother. Praying so hard for Callum that he actually has no hand in manipulating the dome.Come to think of it, if he does, then how?"I did it." He replies boldly, a big grin on his face. "You think having the Moon-made makes you all too powerful and untouchable?" "Callum..." I'm shocked at the words coming out of his mouth."Yes! I killed your brother. I got your best man, Ardbry, to deliver the lousy Moon-made to me, but hi
~Gaston~••EARLIER••After so many years, the border protecting Gurreo-Valley and preventing just anyone from wandering in, gets taken down.Worse still, we have no idea how or why. I didn’t even know that it was possible. My mother had told me that aside from the fact that the border is strongly built, she had cast several layers of protective spells to double it up after her marriage to my father. Our pack has lots of enemies who wouldn’t think twice about taking advantage of our borders being down. For all we know, several of those enemies could already be in Gurreo-Valley. Dion parted ways with me to stay with his men while Clifton joined me at the construction site where we have the border surrounding the shifting center. My brothers and I scrabble around to protect our pack borders before it is too late. At least two hundred of our best warriors are already stationed around the entirety of the length of Gurreo-Valley borders, and the rest are on standby, waiting to run shift
~Xyana~Restricted from moving out of my room, my body surges in panic. Unsurprisingly, I struggle to focus most of my attention on my mates' emotions through the mate bond. Gaston's and Dion's prevalent emotions are anger. Clifton is filled with bloodlust and he doesn't seem bothered, and Bones' fear is minimal, almost non-existent. He is... having fun!Odd...But thank goddess they don't seem overwhelmed by all of this. Because it would have been terrifying if fear was prevalent in their emotions. Every once in a while, I can feel them searching through my emotions the same way I keep searching through theirs. They are checking in on me and ensuring I am safe. I think they know it brings me some comfort when they do that, so they do it often, making me feel their warm presence in my mind as often as possible.Eventually, the frequency of their check-ups starts reducing, and I attribute it to the fact that they are occupied with fixing things because even when I search through thei
