Gideon pulled his car to a slow halt near the quiet residential area where Angela lived in an apartment near the Silvermoon pack territory. Wrath had been restless the entire time, urging him, demanding him to go to her.

Something was wrong. And Gideon knew better than to ignore that instinct. His wolf never pushed without reason.

The urge to see Angela clawed through his veins like fire.

“Alpha, the lights turned off after ten. We assume Ms. Clampitt has retired for the night. We’ve secured th

Angela slipped into the elevator, her fingers trembling as she jabbed the button for the basement. The moment the doors slid open, her phone rang. She answered before the first ring could finish. “Did you get it?” “Yes! Come downstairs. I will drop you there.” Draven’s voice was firm, but laced with urgency. “I am already here.” She rushed toward the dimly lit parking area, spotting his car instantly. “Is it far?” she asked, sliding into the seat and fumbling with the seatbelt. “Half an hour’s drive!” he replied, his eyes briefly scanning her pale, strained face. “Please… drive fast.” Her voice cracked. Draven didn’t argue. He simply nodded, the engine roaring to life as they sped toward the penthouse where Gideon was staying temporarily. “Why didn’t he pick up your calls? I heard he didn’t come to the office today?” Draven asked, stealing glances at her between the traffic. “I don’t know…” she whispered, her foot tapping restlessly against the floor. Anxiety clawed at

“Dr. Zamini, when will Axel wake up?” Angela’s voice trembled, breaking under the weight of the same question she had asked countless times. “Please tell me, he is fine?”Her tear-swollen eyes never left the small, fragile figure lying on the infirmary bed for Twenty-eight hours. Twenty-eight unbearable hours of silence, of fear, of watching her child fight a battle she couldn’t see.Dr. Zamini exhaled slowly, her gaze softening with sympathy. “I wish I could give you certainty, Angela but I can’t.” Her tone was gentle, yet heavy with truth. “It may take a few more hours. But I’ve already told you, without the Alpha King’s blood, I can’t stabilize him.”Angela’s breath hitched.“Axel’s Alpha genes are too strong for his young body to handle,” Zamini continued. “They’re rejecting his own blood. Only his father’s blood can balance it or we might lose him.”Lose him.The words struck Angela like a blade. Her fingers tightened desperately around Axel’s tiny hand. She pressed trembling kis

“Angela… are you trying to choke me to death?” Dash coughed, clutching his throat as if he had swallowed poison. “What toxin is this? Wait, was this meant for Gideon?”Angela clicked her tongue, deliberately avoiding his gaze. First him, then Gideon. She shook her head slowly, apprehension pooling in her stomach. She knew she was doomed.Instinctively, she shifted sideways, already calculating her escape route, just in case these two wolves decided to tear her apart for this disaster.“I just made hot black coffee,” she muttered defensively, feigning innocence.“Coffee?” he scoffed, horrified. “You call this coffee? I told you, he doesn’t drink black..” Angela snapped her head toward him, shooting daggers through her eyes, hinting him to shut up.But it was too late. The room had fallen silent. Both of them froze, realizing the calm silence from a particular party before slowly turning toward the one man whose react

Angela rested the cup of hot black coffee on his desk with a soft thud and stepped back. Gideon didn’t even spare her a glance. He was on the phone, speaking in that low, controlled tone that always carried authority and indifference. She knew that tone. He wasn’t busy. He was dragging this out. To punish her. For that one mistake. For leaving work that day. A whole week. A whole week of endless tasks, impossible demands, and this ridiculous torture of making coffee over and over again like she was nothing more than a servant. She flared her nose in anger. Gideon finally picked up the cup, taking a slow sip as if He had all the time in the world. Angela watched him from the corner of her eye in anticipation. “Change!” Angela’s fingers curled into fists. This was the eighth cup. Eighth. Her mind screamed at her to grab that cup and pour it straight over his perfectly styled head and watch the arrogance drip off him along with the coffee. But she didn’t. She couldn’t. Sile

Angela immediately snatched his phone and cut the call with trembling fingers. Gideon watched her tight expression as she tossed his phone onto the table without care. His eyes narrowed at her.“You are not going to reveal this to anyone, Gideon!” she warned, pointing a shaking finger at him, her eyes blazing. And Gideon could swear, this fire in her stirred something dark and dangerous inside him. It turned him on badly. Her flushed cheeks, widened hazel eyes, and parted pink lips were a temptation He couldn’t ignore.Wrath hummed darkly. Gideon wanted to crush his lips against hers, to extinguish that fire or perhaps fuel it further. Wrath stirred within him, and unconsciously, his thumb brushed over her lips, slowly. Angela stiffened instantly.“Why not? Why should I listen to you, hmm?” he murmured, leaning closer. Angela’s heart stuttered violently.“You… because it will…” She faltered, words failing her. How could she possibly convince him? Why would He even listen? He had pro

“Pardon me?” Angela blinked her eyes at him. “You heard me perfectly. You are assigned under me which means you stay with me, work beside me, and learn directly from me. I will personally ensure you understand how things function… in my way.”His silver, stormy eyes held something dark beneath them, something that made Angela suddenly aware of herself. His twisted words unsettled her. The silence was broken when her phone rang. She reached for it, but Gideon spoke again.“And for that we have one month to complete this project. The same one month you have to decide how you will come back to me.”Angela’s hand froze mid-air. Slowly, she turned to look at him.“I am granting you one month, Angela Woodbead. Return to me of your own will or force me to claim what is already mine. The decision is entirely yours.”He said it so casually as if He were discussing the weather.Angela placed her phone back on the desk and stepped closer to him, her eyes blazing.“Do you even hear yourself?
