Seraphina

A sharp, violent jolt tore me from the dark void of unconsciousness.

My eyes snapped open, my heart hammering against my ribs like a trapped bird. For a long, dizzying moment, the world spun in a blur of deep shadows and soft moonlight. The ceiling above me wasn't the damp, decaying stone of the Darkmoor dungeons, nor was it the freezing open sky of the snow-covered border.

It was arched obsidian, carved with glowing blue runes that hummed with a quiet, ancient power.

I tried to sit up, but a searing, white-hot pain shot through my chest—a sensation like thousands of electrified needles stabbing straight into my core. A choked gasp tore from my throat as memories flooded back in a terrifying rush: Cassian’s cruel laughter on the balcony, Beta Marcus’s silver-threaded whip tearing through my spine, Gideon’s blade at my throat, and the terrifying, breathtaking moment I drank the blood of three Alphas to survive.

"Easy, firebird," a low, deep voice murmured beside me.

Panic flared in my veins. I instinctively tried to pull back, only to realize my limbs felt strangely heavy and numb. Someone was holding my right hand, their palm warm and calloused, wrapping gently around my ice-cold fingers.

I whipped my head around to see a broad-shouldered man sitting on the edge of the plush silk bed. He had sharp, striking features, a jagged scar along his neck, and eyes of burning hazel that softened the moment they met mine.

"Don't fight it," he said softly, his grip on my hand tightening just enough to ground me without causing pain. "Your body is still processing the blood oath. If you move too fast, your core will tear itself apart."

My breathing was shallow and ragged as I scanned the room. The chamber was grand and magnificent, decorated with silver tapestries, dark velvet furs, and weapons that practically radiated raw power.

Where am I? Whose room is this?

I pulled fiercely at my arm, desperate to break free of his touch. The man blinked in surprise, his gentle smile fading slightly as he raised his free hand in a peaceful gesture.

"Hey, no one is going to hurt you here," another voice chimed in from the right.

I turned my head sharply to see two more men standing near the foot of the massive bed. The younger-looking one had dark brown hair that fell in a messy, wind-swept style over his forehead, giving him the dangerously charming aura of a seasoned warrior. Behind him stood a taller, impeccably dressed man with dark hair and silver eyes that burned with a cold, terrifying authority.

"I'm Torin," the younger one offered, giving me a reassuring nod. "The one holding your hand is Vance. And the brooding Alpha behind us is Malek."

"Malek... Vance... Torin..." I croaked out, my throat so dry it felt lined with sand.

"You're in the central sanctuary of the Shadow Territory," Vance explained, his thumbs brushing the back of my hand with painstaking gentleness. "Malek carried you here after we dealt with the guards on the border. Soren—our head healer—cleared the Wolfsbane from your veins. The scars on your back are already fading."

I stared at Vance, my defenses screaming at me to run, yet a strange, unexplainable warmth pulsed from his skin into mine. It was the mate-bond—not a single, fragile thread like the one I had shared with Cassian, but a massive, braided golden cable connecting my soul to all three of them.

"There is something else you need to understand, Seraphina," Malek said, stepping forward until his towering frame cast a shadow over the bed. His silver eyes searched mine with intense solemnity. "When you drank our blood, you didn't just bind your life to ours. You unlocked the true Imperial seal that Darkmoor tried to suppress for eighteen years."

I frowned, a cold dread creeping up my spine. "What are you talking about?"

"You aren't a nameless orphan," Vance said quietly, looking down at our joined hands. "Your blood carries the extinct Royal Lineage of the First Moon. That's why Cassian kept you close, and that's why Beta Marcus tried to execute you the moment you rejected his son. They were stealing your dormant magic to power their own bloodlines."

Before I could digest the staggering revelation, a violent tremor shook the foundation of the obsidian castle.

The blue runes on the ceiling flashed a warning crimson, and the heavy glass lanterns clattered against the stone walls. Outside the high sanctuary windows, the dark night sky was suddenly pierced by hundreds of flaming arrows raining down on the mountain fortress.

A horn bellowed across the valley—a sound of war that I recognized instantly.

"Alpha Malek!" a guard shouted, throwing open the heavy double doors, his armor covered in soot. "The Darkmoor Vanguard has breached the outer defensive ring! Beta Marcus is at the perimeter... and he brought the Moon-Severing Engine!"

Malek’s jaw clenched, his silver eyes flaring with lethal fury as he drew a massive, runic broadsword from his hip.

"He came for a war," Torin growled, dark fur instantly sprouting along his forearms as his inner wolf surfaced. "Let's give him a massacre."

Vance squeezed my hand one last time before standing up beside his brothers. He looked down at me, his gaze fierce and protective. "Stay in this room, Seraphina. No matter what you hear outside."

"No," I rasped, forcing myself to sit up despite the agonizing pulse in my veins. I swung my legs over the side of the bed, the silver glow of my eyes reigniting with raw, unyielding vengeance. "I spent eighteen years letting Darkmoor bleed me dry. I'm not hiding while they burn down the only place that saved me.”

Malek"What? Is something wrong? Is her condition that bad?" I asked, trying to read his stunned look.Vance remained completely frozen near the foot of the altar bed, staring down at Seraphina’s pale, blood-stained form as if he’d been struck by lightning. The faint silver glow of her Imperial blood hummed in the air, but Vance didn't reach out to check her pulse or inspect the healing lash marks on her back."Is she dead?" My heart skipped as the thought crossed my mind. No, I could still pick up her heartbeat, so she was alive, but why was he staring at her like that? I was starting to lose my cool, the raw Alpha inside me snapping at the delay, but he turned to me calmly."T-the girl. Your mate. She's also my mate," he revealed, leaving me shocked as this hit me hard. My mate was also his mate? How was this even possible? The door to the room got pushed open suddenly, and Torin walked in."Brother, what's going on? I came right away when I heard you'd arrived," he said whil

SeraphinaThe absolute silence of the arctic night was broken only by the ragged sound of my own breathing. I lay shivering in the crimson-stained snow, the raw wounds on my back throbbing in time with my racing heart. Before me stood three massive figures—shifting effortlessly from terror-inducing wolves into three towering, breathtakingly dangerous men. The oppressive weight of their combined aura pressed down on the frozen air, suffocating and intoxicating all at once. The silver-eyed Alpha knelt beside me, his long, dark hair dusting my collarbone as his calloused thumb gently wiped a smear of blood from my chin."You're safe now, little Empress," his voice echoed directly inside my head, deep and smooth like crushed velvet over stone. "But to keep you alive... you belong to the three of us now."My mind reeled. Imperial line? Three Alphas? Belong to them?Nyssa, usually so violent and bloodthirsty inside my mind, went dead silent. She was purring. The sheer strength radiating fro

SeraphinaThe dropped communication stone clattered on the marble floor like a death knell. I backed away into the shadows, clutching his dropped phone to my chest, my heart hammering like a trapped bird.“You can’t let him get away with this,” a low, lethal snarl echoed inside my mind. It was Nyssa, my wolf spirit. For years, she had been dormant, suppressed under my human weakness, but the sheer weight of Cassian’s betrayal broke her chains. “He treated us like garbage. Make him pay.”Hot, fiery rage replaced the cold shock in my blood. Nyssa was right. I was done cowering. If he wanted to play dirty, then game on.I didn't run away. Instead, I pushed open the grand double doors of the pack hall, my eyes glowing a feral crimson as Nyssa seized control.I expected to find just Cassian and his friends, but the scene inside was far worse. Sitting at the head of the long oak table was Alpha Malachi himself, surrounded by the elder council and the highest-ranking Betas. Cassian was stand

SeraphinaCassian’s breath burned hot against my throat, his lips trailing a path of fire up to the sensitive curve of my ear. His fingers, rough and calloused from training, tangled in my dark hair, drawing my head back gently to deepen the kiss.I leaned into him for a heartbeat, tasting the rich amber whiskey on his tongue, but a cold prickle of hesitation made me press my hands flat against his broad chest.“Cassian, wait…” My voice was barely a whisper, breathless and trembling. “Shouldn’t we… shouldn't we wait? If we do this now, in secret, it changes everything.”I didn't say what was truly clawing at my chest: Why are we hiding? This wasn't how I had dreamed my first time would be. I wanted the grand altar under the full moon. I wanted the pack’s howling approval, the binding mark stamped visibly on my collarbone for everyone to see that I belonged to him, and he belonged to me. I wanted my innocence to be a sacred gift given to my mate, Cassian, on the night he introduc
