Viene’s POV

Nathan called a meeting before I’d finished breakfast.

“Scouts,” he said, dropping a map on the table between us. Three marks along the outer edge, red, spaced apart like someone had been walking the perimeter looking for weak points. “Three separate sightings in the last twelve hours. All along the eastern border.”

“Miel’s pack,” I said.

“Not confirmed. Could be independent. Could be anyone who’s picked up on the residual claim and decided to see what it’s worth.”

“Worth to w

  • Rejected by My Mate, Claimed by the Triplet Alphas    Chapter 47: Shared Resonance

Viene’s POV The pulse hit again before anyone could move, stronger this time, and the room around me stopped feeling like a room at all. I felt Nathan’s fear first. Not my own — his, sharp and specific, a fear shaped like watching someone die and being unable to stop it, old and worn smooth from being carried a long time. It wasn’t mine. I knew that way you know a borrowed coat isn’t yours, even wrapped around your shoulders. Then Neil’s memory. Not a feeling this time — an actual fragment, gone before I could hold it, something about a locked door and a name he’d been told never to say out loud. It moved through me and was gone, leaving only the ache where it had been. Then Nolan. His desire, plain and unguarded, no fear wrapped around it this time, just wanting, steady and warm, aimed entirely at me. All three at once. No separation between them. No sense of whose feeling belonged to whom, just a single flood moving through me with three different currents tangled so completel

  • Rejected by My Mate, Claimed by the Triplet Alphas    Chapter 46: No Isolation Plans

Viene’s POV The arguing started before breakfast and hadn’t stopped by noon. “Isolate Nolan,” Nathan said, for the third time. “If choice is the trigger and he’s the strongest pull, distance is the only lever we haven’t fully tested.” “We tested it,” Nolan said. “Chapter thirty-eight. It nearly killed her.” “That was forced distance during an active crisis. This would be controlled, gradual—” “You want to gradually starve the bond you just admitted might be the only thing keeping her stable.” Neil didn’t look up from his notes. “That’s not a plan. That’s a slower version of the same mistake.” “Then what’s your plan,” Nathan snapped. “Keep feeding her more Vault sessions until the sixth line becomes a seventh?” “My plan is stopping the memory work. Full suspension. If emotional surrender is the trigger, and the Vault keeps handing her identity fragments that make surrender more likely, we cut that off first.” “You’ve been saying for weeks that stopping the Vault work loses us

  • Rejected by My Mate, Claimed by the Triplet Alphas    Chapter 45: Proof of Collapse Pattern

Viene’s POV Neil called all of us to the study before dawn, which told me whatever he’d found hadn’t waited for morning to matter. “I found records,” he said, no preamble, folders stacked in front of him instead of just one. “Not legends. Not theory. Documentation. Multiple cases, going back further than the three cycles I already told you about.” Nathan sat across from him, arms crossed. “Cases of what?” “Multi-bond Lock formation. What’s happening to Viene isn’t unprecedented. It’s rare, and it’s been buried, but it’s happened before, more than once, and every single time it followed the same shape.” “What shape,” I asked. Neil opened the first folder and turned it so we could all see the diagram inside — a woman’s figure, lines radiating outward, numbered stages beside each one. “Multiple attachments form. The lines strengthen with contact, same as we’ve documented. Eventually they begin converging, same as your fourth and fifth lines. The structure reorganizes into somethin

  • Rejected by My Mate, Claimed by the Triplet Alphas    Chapter 44: The Fear in Care

Viene’s POV Nolan found me on the east wall an hour after the chamber argument ended, the same spot he always seemed to gravitate toward when the compound got too loud to think in. “I heard,” he said. “About the name. About Nathan and Neil.” “It’s a lot.” “It’s always a lot lately.” He sat beside me, close but not touching, careful in a way that told me he already knew about the recording, about the rule he’d broken, about all of it. “I saw the footage this morning. Nathan showed me himself. Didn’t yell. Just showed me and walked away.” “That’s worse than yelling.” “Yeah.” We sat in silence a moment, the wind cutting cold across the wall, and I found myself watching his hands instead of the horizon, resisting the urge to reach for one of them out of habit more than need. “Can I tell you something,” Nolan said, “and you actually let me finish before you argue with it.” “I’ll try.” “I’ve been thinking about what Neil said. About me being the load-bearing point. The fastest fi

Viene’s POV Nathan came through the chamber door like the distance hadn’t slowed him down at all. “You went against my order,” he said to Neil, not even looking at me first. “You took her past the mapped section without clearing it with anyone.” “I cleared it with her,” Neil said. “That was always the deal.” “That deal ended the second I said no more Vault work.” “You said no more Vault work while you figured out what almost killed her. I told you I wasn’t stopping the investigation. You heard me say it.” “I heard you say it and I overruled it.” “You don’t get to overrule evidence, Nathan. You get to control who enters a room. You don’t get to control what the data means once it’s already in front of us.” I stepped between them before it climbed further. “Both of you, stop.” Neither of them stopped. “She has a name now,” Nathan said, mouth tight. “A second name. You’re telling me that’s not worth stopping for, worth being careful about, worth slowing down—” “I’m telling yo

  • Rejected by My Mate, Claimed by the Triplet Alphas    Chapter 42: Second Name

Viene’s POV I knew Nathan would find the recording before he ever said a word about it. I could feel it coming the way you feel weather changing, a pressure building somewhere out of sight. Rather than wait for it, I went looking for Neil before breakfast. “I want to go deeper,” I said. “Into the Vault. Past wherever we’ve been before.” Neil set down his cup. “That’s not a small request.” “I know.” “Nathan’s going to find out about last night within the hour, if he hasn’t already. You want to do this now, before that conversation happens.” “Yes.” He studied me a moment, the way he did when he was weighing a risk against what it might buy him. “The deeper sections aren’t mapped well. What we’ve accessed so far behaves less like a room and more like an interface — it responds to you, not to distance or direction the way a normal space would. Going deeper doesn’t mean walking further. It might mean something else entirely.” “Do you know what?” “No. Neither did the last people w
